This paper is focused on implementing a real-time data acquisition system that checks power facility status by applying network based technology to Urban Transit substation power facilities and the results of its on-field tests. This system is composed of a sensor part, a measurement part, a transceiver part, a host computer, and a power source part. The system is designed to collect, save, analyze, and display the online state power facility AI (Analog Input). This system measures voltage and current from positive feeders and negative feeders where it is possible to check abnormalities of the substation‘s main power facilities. By monitoring abnormal data of the Urban Transit power facilities real-time and analyzing stored data, establishing procedures of optimized maintenance is possible.

It become more difficult to anticipate the performance of fluid power systems as the number of components increases because of nonlinearrities inherent in hydraulic components. In this situation, the computer simulation technique can be an effective tool in the analysis and design of fluid power systems. In this paper, simulation results are presented for dynamic characteriatics of a knuckle crane. Simple models for hydraulic components and relatively detailed motion equations for attachments are used. the simulation reaults are very close to those of experiments. The simulation is performed using a simulation package developed with object-oriented method. This package provides the encironment that user can construct desirct desired circuits form the component library, checks the continuity and compatibility conditions automatically and executes simulation

In rural settlement planning, its spatial development framework should be constructed on the basis of the hierachial settlement system. However, up to now, there does not exist widely - accepted model on rural settlement hierachy. In this study the basic planning principles and directions on the modelling of the settlement hireachy in rural areas have been consolidated through theoretical study and situational analysis on planning environments. And also, a new yardstick on the grading of the middle - level centers between villages and rural towns has been tried to find out. The research resulted that the existance of periodical rural market might be used as a simple and innovative yardstick on the hierachial ordering of rural settlement system. Based on the above results, an alternative 4 - step model of rural settlement hierachy was proposed ; Rural Town(county hall sitted) -Market Center(having standard periodical market) - Village Center(having no market) - Village. Finally, because the conclusion has been made by very limited case studies and several previous works, there should need continuous studies and checks in future for full reasoning of the proposed model.

It is the well-documented fact that most patients experience considerable stress in hospital. Stress is also a problem for families of patients, visitors and for hospital staffs. To promote wellness. It is fundamentally important that hospital be designed to foster copying with stress. By Literature review, this study presents stressors of patients, families, hospital staffs and various healing design elements. And then, it cross-checks the relations between stress-reducing conditions and healing design elements. Finally, this presents the healing design conditions for each stress-reducing conditions of patients, families and staffs.

In this study, an integrated economic analysis model to analyze the new telecommunication services is developed. This model considers both the technological and managerial aspests altogether with respect to the profit and public benefit criteria. To encounter the various dynamically changing environments and evaluation criteria, multiple criteria decision making (MCDM)techniques are employed. The model consists of three stages; The first stage surveys related formal or informal data, generates analysis alternatives, and performs acceptabillty test in view of marketing. The second stage generates executive alternatives for each acceptable analysis alternative and checks the executionability in view of telecommunication technologies. The third stage performs the final integrated economic analysis including the profitability analysis. This study offers a basis for the future development of decision support system or expert system on the economic analysis of the new telecommunication services.

The paper presents results of parametric studies, and an overall approach for the design of a modular bridge system which incorporates a steel-reinforcement free concrete slab cast on top of carbon FRP stiffened deck panels which act as both structural formwork and flexural reinforcement, spanning between hollow box type FRP girders. Results of the parametric studies are highlighted to elucidate important relationships between critical configurational parameters and empirical equations based on numerical studies are presented. Results are discussed at the level of the individual deck and girder components, and as a slab-on-girder bridge system. An overall design methodology for the components and bridge system including critical performance checks is also presented.

문서 필터링은 어떤 문서가 특정한 주제에 속하는지의 여부를 판별하는 문제이다. 인터넷과 웹이 널리 퍼지고 이메일로 전송되는 문서의 양이 폭발적으로 증가함에 따라 문서 여과의 중요성도 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 본 논문은 문서 필터링 문제를 이진 문서 분류 문제로 보고, 베이지안 분류기를 필터링 목적으로 사용하였다. 그리고 사용자가 관련성 있는 문서를 제대로 필터링 받기 위해서 학습 대상으로 삼아야 할 문서의 범위나 수, 최소한 체크해야 하는 관련성 있는 문서의 수에 대한 값을 구하는 실험을 수행하였다.

According to SOLAS Convention, a voyage data recorder(VDR) is to be fitted onboard ships to assist in the marine casualty investigation However, a review of Korean Maritime Safety tribunal(KMST), shows that the current VDR systems is inconvenient in practical because the storage format of VDR and the casualty reproduction method are different from one manufacturer to another making it economically and timely difficult for the maritime casualty investigation bodies to carry out investigation in a proper manner. To solve this problem, this paper proposed a newly designed VDR Analysis System(VDRAS), which decodes the voyage data of VDR producea by different manufacturers, reproduces the condition at the time of casualty in an accurate, and performs necessary checks.

Communication between human and machine is having been researched from last few decades and still it's a challenging task because human behavior is unpredictable. When it comes on handwritten digits almost each human has their own writing style. Handwritten digit recognition plays an important role, especially in the courtesy amounts on bank checks, postal code on mail address etc. In our study, we proposed an efficient feature extraction system for recognizing single digit number drawn by mouse or by a finger on a screen. Our proposed method combines basic image processing and reading the strokes of a line drawn. It is very simple and easy to implement in various platform as compare to the system which required high system configuration. This system has been designed, implemented, and tested successfully.

In competitive electricity markets, the System Operator (SO) coordinates the overall maintenance schedules whenever the collective maintenance schedule reported to SO by Gencos & Transco in the pool does not satisfy the specified operating criteria, such as system reliability or supply adequacy. We propose a two-layer mathematical algorithm amenable to maintenance scheduling problem into master problem and sub-problem. The master problem coordinates the scheduling, and sub-problem, DC optimal power flew, checks the adequacy. The proposed algorithm was demonstrated with a case study.
