  • With the increase in frequency of typhoons and heavy rains following the climate change, the scale of damage from the calamities in the mountainous areas has been growing larger and larger, which is different from the past. For the case of Korea where 64% of land is consisted of the mountainous areas, establishment of the check dams has been drastically increased after 2000 in order to reduce the damages from the debris flow. However, due to the lack of data on scale, location and kind of check dams established for reducing the damages in debris flow, the measures to prevent damages based on experience and subjective basis have to be relied on. Under this study, the high-precision DEM data was structured by using the terrestrial LiDAR in the Jecheon area where the debris flow damage occurred in July 2009. And, from the numerical models of the debris flow, Kanako-2D that is available to reflect the erosion and deposition action was applied to install the erosion control facilities (water channel, check dam) and analyzed the effect of reducing the debris flow shown in the downstream. After installing the erosion control facilities, most of debris flow moves along the water channel to reduce the area to expand the debris flow, and after installing the check dam, the flow depth and flux of the debris flow were reduced along with the erosion. However, as a result of analyzing the diffusion area, flow depth, erosion and deposition volume of the debris flow generated from the deposition part after modifying the location of the check dams with the damages occurring on private residences and agricultural land located on the upstream area, the highest reduction effect was shown when the check dam is installed in the maximal discharge points.

  • Traditional photogrammetry and satellite image rectification technique have been developed based on control-points for many decades. These techniques are driven from linked points in image space and the corresponding points in the object space in rigorous colinearity or coplanarity conditions. Recently, digital imagery facilitates the opportunity to use features as well as points for images rectification. These implementations were mainly based on rigorous models that incorporated geometric constraints into the bundle adjustment and could not be applied to the new high-resolution satellite imagery (HRSI) due to the absence of sensor calibration and satellite orbit information. This research is an attempt to establish a new Line Based Transformation Model (LBTM), which is based on linear features only or linear features with a number of ground control points instead of the traditional models that only use Ground Control Points (GCPs) for satellite imagery rectification. The new model does not require any further information about the sensor model or satellite ephemeris data. Synthetic as well as real data have been demonestrated to check the validity and fidelity of the new approach and the results showed that the LBTM can be used efficiently for rectifying HRSI.

  • A heavy snowfall event occurred over the middle part of the Korean peninsula on March 4, 2004. The numerical models of KMA failed to forecast this heavy snowfall event because this event was due to small scale disturbance by low lever convergence and atmospheric instability. The analyses for this heavy snowfall have been performed to give forecasters useful suggestions for forecasting heavy snowfall events in the future. The analyses for the snowfall event were recounted by the Hourly Korean Peninsula Analysis Weather Chart (HKPAWC) presenting on the KMA intranet system. We confirmed that warm air flows of low level into south central Korea in conjunction with strong southwesterly winds played important role in the heavy snowfall event. We suggested several check points to improve the forecast of heavy snowfall events in the future through the results of the analyses.

  • This study is aimed to suggest the method, color channel seperation, can match the common points in real-time automatically. Image coordinates which was calculated from the acquired image with CCDcamera in this study is checked with two methods; check the accuracy of image coordinate and common point matching through correct sort. In conclusion of check, The RMSE of object coordinate which is calculated by photogrammetry program with image coordinate is in the expect RMSE of close-range photogrammetry, and Match-ing of common point is also performed correctly by using sort. For these reason, this color channel separation method is adequate for the acquisition of accurate image coordinates and the matching of the common points. I think that this method will be useful for the fields of industry which need fast-correct processing with acquired information in real-time.

  • In this paper, we investigated an implementation of anti-fire monitoring system based on the RS-485 communication to support local area coverage within a range of 1 Km range. We developed a Multi Point Communication Protocol supporting input/output information processing and control up to 8128 terminal check points, which provides an interface between the anti-fire monitoring system receiver and multiplex transponders. Additionally, a multiplex transponders controller has been designed for the implemented system to comply with the government regulation on fire protection, especially to monitor, report and control 1016 terminal check points within the time limit.

  • With the growth and maturation of IT industry, the necessity of audit about development, maintenance and management of high-quality information system is gradually increasing. In addition, the necessity of inner auditing system, which could totally verify and evaluate the effectiveness of project according to the characteristics of organization conducting information-oriented business, also being proposed. Government offices including Korea Institute of Science and Technology(KISTI) collectively controlling nationwide science-technology related information have no guiding principle or organization within themselves even though performing information-oriented businesses are becoming more bigger and complicated. In this paper, we propose scheme for devising framework, which can audit construction and operation of knowledge information, check list and guideline. In addition, we present concrete ways for adapting these schemes to institutes which manage science-technology knowledge information. Audit framework consists of points of time in audit, audit domain and audit criterion. Points of time in audit are defined as three phases as followings: pre-audit, in-progress audit and post-audit. Audit domain includes 16 detail audit domains and especially we set 11 check items and 40 detail investigation items for database implementation business. We expect that management level of science-technology implementation business of organizations using this research result will increase and they could offer high-quality information service.

  • This study is a comparative analysis of the usage level of domestic academic journals in each discipline. The purpose of this study is that the results from this analysis can be used as basic data for evaluating domestic journals which is being done in every university. I atopted citation analysis as research methods target to dissertation and core journal in each discipline. From this analysis I got some results that can be applied as a tool for evaluating journals. First, there is distindtive difference in degree of reliance on the domestic journals, therefore we have to prepare different check points for each discipline. Second, if high rank journal can't take rule power under $50\%$, we must prepare another pertinent check points to evaluate journals efficiently.

  • The purpose of this research was to examine the preferences of five traditional Korean drinks and analyze the factors affecting the preferences of children aged 7-12 in Korea, Vietnam, and China. The samples used in a sensory test were omija-cha, yuza-cha, sujeonggwa, sikhye and misutgaru. The test was performed to examine the overall, appearance (color), odor, taste and mouth-feeling and a sweetness intensity using 5 point hedonic scale (1=dislike extremely, 5=like extremely) and, check-all-that-apply (CATA) method was performed to determine preference and non-preferences factors. The preference of all samples except sujeonggwa showed significant differences in all items of the preferences (p<0.001). Almost items of the preference was rated more than 4 points in Chinese and Korea children. The sweetness intensity showed also significant differences in all items of the preferences except sujeonggwa (p<0.001), and evaluated as not sweet-appropriate with the score between 2 and 3 points. Sweetness, color, mouth-feeling, familiar flavor and healthy feeling was selected for the factors affecting the preferences. In conclusion, the result of this study determine the preferences and the affecting factors for the traditional Korean drinks in children of Korea, Vietnam, and China.

  • In this paper, we study the value distribution of the derivative of a Dirichlet L-function $L^{\prime}(s,{\chi})$ at the a-points ${\rho}_{a,{\chi}}={\beta}_{a,{\chi}}+i{\gamma}_{a,{\chi}}$ of $L^{\prime}(s,{\chi})$. We give an asymptotic formula for the sum $${\sum_{{\rho}_{a,{\chi}};0<{\gamma}_{a,{\chi}}{\leq}T}\;L^{\prime}({\rho}_{a,{\chi}},{\chi})X^{{\rho}_{a,{\chi}}}\;as\;T{\rightarrow}{\infty}$$, where X is a fixed positive number and ${\chi}$ is a primitive character mod q. • For Automatic Meter Reading System, good topology of check machines, concentrators, and repeaters in client field is important. Steiner Minimum Tree is a minimum cost tree connecting all given nodes with introducing Steiner points. In this paper, an efficient mechanism allocating and connecting check machines, concentrators and repeaters which are essential elements in automatic meter reading system is proposed, which conducts repeated applications of building approximate Minimum Steiner Trees. In the mechanism, input nodes and Steiner points might correspond to check machine, concentrators or repeaters and edges might do to the connections between them. Therefore, through suitable conversions and processes of them, an efficient network for automatic meter reading system with both wired and wireless communication techniques could be constructed. In our experiment, for 1000 input nodes and 200 max connections per node, the proposed mechanism shortened the length of produced network by 19.1% comparing with the length of Minimum Spanning Tree built by Prim's algorithm.
