A Study on the Evaluation Factors that Influence Viewing Satisfaction in Art Museum - Focusing on the Wall Displays of Art Museums - (미술관 관람 만족도에 영향을 미치는 평가요인에 관한 연구 - 미술관 벽면전시 중심으로 -)

  • Based on extraction items derived from previous related studies on viewing experiences in art museums, this study is conducted to investigate extraction factors that affect viewing satisfactions and to suggest a guideline for an effective viewing environment by clarifying a hierarchy among the extraction factors. For this study, a survey was given to museum visitors, and statistical analyses were conducted on data obtained from the survey. The results of this study are summarized as follows; 1. From an analysis of extraction items that affect overall viewing satisfaction, space and art works were found to be relatively satisfactory. 2. From correlation analyses of extraction items, a degree of concentration on art works was found to most 'affect the viewing satisfactions of art museums. 3. From factor analyses, extraction items were reduced to 11 extraction factors, and a simple extraction structure affecting the viewing satisfactions in art museums. 4. From multiple regression analyses, a extraction factors were derived, and a relative hierarchy among the factors was found.

Analysis of Sheath Circulating Current on Multi-underground Transmission Cables using EMTP (다회선 지중송전 케이블에서의 EMTP를 이용한 시스 순환전류 분석)

  • The use of underground transmission cables has continuously increased in densely inhabited urban and suburban area. Due to a increasing demand of underground cables, two or more circuits are installed in parallel for several kilometers. It, however, has not been realized that the sheath circulating current is generated in the system where a large number of cables are laid in the same route. In this paper, sheath circulating current is analyzed by the EMTP and compared with the measured values. Unbalance arrangement of cables or cross-bonding length causes a significant effect on the magnitude of the sheath current. Sheath circulating current could be greatly reduced by the symmetrical configuration of cables and installation of the impedance reduction system. Especially, with the impedance system of 1Ω installed, the sheath circulating current is reduced by 85.7%.

Touch Imprint Cytology of Merkel Cell Carcinoma - A Case Report - (Merkel 세포 암종의 압착도말 세포소견 -1예 보고-)

  • Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is a rare primary cutaneous neuroendocrine carcinoma which commonly presents as a skin nodule, and can develop into regional lymph node metastases, as well as spread systematically. Here, we describe the cytological features of a touch imprint of MCC that arose on the face of a 62-year-old female. This touch imprint was acquired from an incisional biopsy specimen which had been submitted for frozen section. The touch preparation produced a highly cellular imprint of loosely cohesive groups of small- to medium-sized malignant cells exhibiting uniform round to oval nuclei, delicate nuclear membranes, fine chromatin, small nucleoli, and scanty cytoplasm, with occasional paranuclear button-like inclusions. We applied cytokeratin 20 to the touch imprint for immunochemistry, allowing us to visualize the tumor cells with paranuclear dot-like positivity. Both the cytological and immunocytological features were quite distinct.

  • The four Lactobacillus spp. were investigated for their antioxidant properties, including antioxidant activity, tolerance to reactive oxygen species, hydroxy radical scavenging activity and ferrous iron che1ating activity. Also, activities of superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase were investigated. From the results of this work, the intact cell and cell lysate of L. casei KCTC 3260 were exhibited highest antioxidant activity. L. casei KCTC 3260 also showed strong tolerance to reactive oxygen species. This strain showed highest glutathione peroxidase activity among the tested strains.

  • Distance relay is tripped by the line impedance calculated at the relay point. Accordingly the accurate operation depends on the precise calculation of line impedance. Impedance can be accurately calculated in case of overhead line. However, in case of power cables or combined transmission lines, impedance can not be accurately calculated because cable systems have the sheath, grounding wires, and cable cover protection units (CCPUs). There are also several grounding systems in cable systems. Therefore, if there is a fault in cable system, these terms will severely be caused much error to calculation of impedance. Accordingly the proper compensation should be developed for the correct operation of the distance relay. This paper presents the distance calculating algorithm in combined transmission line with power cable using wavelet transform. In order to achieve such purpose, judgement method to discriminate the fault section in both sections was proposed using db1 coefficient summation. And also, error compensation factor was proposed for correct calculation of impedance in power cable.

A Study of Present Circumstance of Uniform Design for Korean Restaurant Employees in Hotels (호텔 한식당의 유니폼 디자인 현황에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to survey the present circumstance of uniform's design and to suggest a design for employees who work for Korean restaurants in Hotels. The subject of study are 10 restaurants which are located in the first class hotels in seoul. And the period of research were 2 months between November, 2003 and December, 2003. The result of research was analyzed by various methods - which consider the frequency, percentage, T-test, crosstabs, and one-way ANOVA. The results are as follows: $1.40{\%}$ of subject adopt a general style which is not traditional style and $60{\%}$ of subject do a Han-Bok or casual Han-Bok which is traditional style. 2. About satisfaction of uniforms, $50{\%}$ of people who is wearing general style has been satisfying their uniform. And $33{\%}$ of people who is wearing traditional style has only been satisfying. 3. People prefer uniform that is made of wrinkle free fabrics and has pockets. In shape of design, they want that ankle-length of trousers, 7/8 sleeves's jackets with waist line-length, and narrow ends. They prefer that a coat has a knob button and there is a zipper in a skirt.

  • It is well-known that analogizing a dynamic system to an equivalent circuit is a powerful tool on the analysis of the system. In this paper, an equivalent circuit of the piano has been constructed by the structural and acoustical analysis to visualize the sounding mechanism. Utilizing the mechanical reactance curve of the soundboard, a new method of reducing che inharmonicity in low frequency range has been built. With this method, by only choosing the proper excitation point on the soundboard, it will be possible to minimize the inharmonicity and thus to obtain mellow bass tone. It is shown that the missing fundamental in the lowest scale range results predominatly from the fact that the radiation impedance in such low frequencies is nearly pure reactive.

  • With the advent of sub-90nm technologies, the system-on-chip (SoC) and system-in-package (SiP) are becoming the trend in delivering low-cost, low-power, and small-form-factor consumer electronic systems running at multiple GHz. The shortened transistor channel length reduces the transistor switching cycles to the range of several picoseconds, yet the time-of-flights of the critical on-chip and off-chip interconnects are in the range of 10 picoseconds for 1.5mm-long wires and 100 picoseconds for 15mm-long wires. Designers realize the bottleneck today often lies at chip-to-chip interconnects and the industry needs a good model to compute the inductance in these parts of circuits. In this paper we propose a new method for extracting accurate equivalent inductance circuit models for SPICE-level circuit simulations of system-on-chip (SoC) and system-in-package (SiP) designs. In our method, geometrical meshes are created and numerical methods are used to find the solutions for the electromagnetic fields over the fine meshes. In this way, multiple-GHz SoC and SiP designers can use accurate inductance modeling and interconnect optimization to achieve high yields.

A Study on the Section Type Characteristic of the Audience's Space in Performing Facilities (공연시설 객석공간의 단면유형 특성에 관한 연구)

  • In the viewing of public performance arts, it needs to make space construction appropriate for performance purposes, because the section type has an effect on audience's inspection. Therefore, this study researches the intentional characteristics and comprehends the relationship between correlation factors to influence on section type of audience space in performance facilities. In addition to, this study comes under fundamental research to propose the course of standard plan, accord with diverse requirement, in the special performance facilities which will be built up. The results as following; 1) The factors that influence the section type of the audience's space in performing facilities are divided as two elements. The first element is construction of space, viewing environment, and the second element is visual characteristic, and acoustic characteristic. 2) The section type are classified as six types, A-type(Flated type), B-type(Sloped type), C-type(Gabled type), D-type(Arched type), E-type(Reverse arched type), and F-type(Reverse sloped type). 3) Characteristics are deduced by the section type, construction of space and viewing environment are restricted by the characteristics of the section type.

Electromagnetic Wave Scattering from a Perfectly Conducting Fractional Brownian Motion Fractal Surface Using a Monte-Carlo FDTD Method (몬테칼로 유한차분 시간영역 방법을 이용한 프랙셔널 브라운 모션 프랙탈 완전도체 표면에서의 전자파 산란)

  • In this paper, the scattered field from a perfectly conducting fractal surface by Finite-Difference Time-Domain(FDTD) method was computed. A one-dimensional fractal surface was generated by using the fractional Brownian motion model. Back scattering coefficients are calculated with different values of the spectral parameter(S0), fractal dimension(D) which determine characteristics of the fractal surface. The number of surface realization for the computed field, the point number, and the width of surface realization are set to be 80, 1024, 16λ, respectively. In order to verify the computed results these results are compared with those of small perturbation methods, which show good agreement between them.
