  • The battery pack, a main component of NEV(Neighborhood Electric Vehicle), needs cooling system when it is charging or discharging to prevent the degradation of the battery charging efficiency. The purpose of this study is to analyse the effects of cooling methods, changing positions of inlet and outlet and changing area ratios of inlet and outlet. It has been observed that in the point of uniform cooling, suction from the exit side is more efficient than blowing from the inlet. And there is a suitable inlet/outlet area ratio in maximizing the mass flow rate. A commercial code, STAR-CCM+(ver. 4.02), was used for the numerical study.

  • This paper deals with a switching method to minimize the current ripple component of 3-phase interleaved bidirectional DC-DC converter for charging and discharging of the battery. The characteristics of the output current ripple in 3-phase and 2-phase operation modes according to the variation of battery voltage is analyzed and a phase conversion method for minimizing the magnitude of the current ripple is proposed. The proposed method can extend the light load range because the switching frequency is lower than that of a 3-phase operating system. Simulation and experimental results show the usefulness of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, the power system with electric vehicles is analyzed considering the mobility and diffusion rate of electric vehicles in the smart grid environment. In the previous studies, load modeling and load composition rates have been researched and the results are applied to develop a new load model to explain the mobility of electric vehicles which could affect on the power system status such as power flow and stability. The results would be utilized to research and develop power system analysis methods considering movable charging characteristics of electric vehicles including movable discharging characteristics which could be affected by the diffusion progress of electric vehicles.

  • We have developed 1 kW-class PEMFC-battery hybrid system independently powering to the building, through the process of system design, current load characteristics analysis, power system configuration for demonstration site and performance evaluation. In order to use the fuel cell and battery as the hybrid type, a control technology for the charging/discharging decision and charging speed of the battery is required rather than using fuel cell. Also output power distribution between PEMFC and the battery is a core of energy management technology. It is confirmed that it is possible to supply independently 1kW powering the building to ensure optimal energy management through the power control experiment of the hybrid system.

  • The new spray system is proposed by using a pipe with hygroscopic needle electrode In order to develop an air-cleaning ESP with high collection efficiency for submicron particles and high removal efficiency for NOx, SO$_2$, NH$_3$. Fundamental characteristics of charging water spray, which is not an usual wet type, are investigated experimentally. As a result, corona discharging mode and ozone generation rate are significantly affected by the operational conditions, such as the applied voltage and wet condition of the needle electrode.

  • The thermostimulated discharge currents of low-density polyethylene electrets were measured versus the principal experimental variables. Several electrode types were used for the charging and discharging procedures. The results led to know the experimental conditions for the heterocharge and homocharge accumulating and decreasing. The electronic structure parameters of polyethylene such as trap level, density of traps, hopping length, mobility, trap time constants were deduced. A method for evaluating the local electric field inside the electret is proposed.

  • A novel integrated battery charger/discharger converter for a standardized battery module is proposed. Instead of using separate charger and discharger converters. it integrates these two converters into a single converter in order to minimize the size. the integrated charger/discharger converter not only regulates the solar array output power including the peak power tracking capability but also controls the battery charging/discharging current depending on the solar array output power and the load power. In addition it offers a regulated bus voltage which simplifies the power distribution/conversion for the pay load.

  • 본 논문에서는 dc 버스기반의 전력시스템에서 양방향 배터리 충방전 회로의 기능을 하는 부스트 컨버터의 소신호 해석과 제어기를 설계 하였다. 컨버터가 동작하는 동안 컨버터의 듀티비 대 출력 전달함수에 나타나는 s-도메인 평면의 오른쪽면과 왼쪽면에 걸쳐 움직이는 RHP 영점 대해 새롭게 밝히고, 움직이는 영점의 근원과 그것 따른 제어기 설계 결과를 보여준다.

  • 본 논문은 고효율 고역율 구현을 위한 배터리 충방전기로서 15kW급 충 방전기용 양방향 PWM 컨버터 개발에 관한 논문이다. 제안된 회로의 구성은 3상 인버터를 PFC정류하여 DC 전압을 만들고 350[VDC] 정전압제어를 통한 배터리 충방전용 DC-DC 컨버터의 입력전압을 형성하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 시제품 제작과 실험을 통한 검증을 하였으며, 상용 충방전기용 제품에 적합함을 확인하였다.
