Generally, it is well known that driving in tunnel imposes large burden to driver because of spatial constraint, limited visual field and so on. And such a burden of driver result in high accident occurrence. In this reason, studies dealing with features of driving and traffic flow in tunnel have been performed. However, information about characteristics of drivers and traffic in a very long tunnel is not accumulated yet. The purpose of this study is to identify the relations between tunnel length and burden of driver, driving patterns, traffic flow characteristics using the tunnel simulator that realizing various tunnel situations. For this, the tunnel simulation program was developed along 11km-length section. And biological data of 10 subjects gained from driving condition in simulation program was analyzed and compared with the result of real driving condition.
In this paper, we analyze the characteristics for the driving shock resistance of the military vehicle through the bump test. Prior to the experiment, theoretical analysis was performed by using the SRS(shock response spectrum) and VRS(vibration response spectrum) analysis method. And we estimated the characteristics for the driving shock resistance of the military vehicle. Bump test was performed using the acceleration sensor and the driving test at a different speed. We evaluated the characteristics for the driving shock resistance of the military vehicle based on the result. And predicted values were compared with the theoretical analysis. In addition, we evaluated the results of the theoretical prediction of the SRS and the VRS analysis. And we evaluate the suitability of the prediction method at military vehicle shock analysis.
A vehicle cruise control strategy designed based on human drivers driving characteristics has been investigated. Human drivers driving patterns have been investigated using vehicle driving test data obtained from 125 participants. The control algorithm has been designed to incorporate the driving characteristics of the human drivers and to achieve natural vehicle behavior of the controlled vehicle that would feel comfortable to the human driver. Vehicle following characteristics of the cruise controlled vehicle have been investigated using real-world vehicle driving test data and a validated simulation package.
Background: Truck driving is known as one of the occupations with the highest accident rate. This study investigates the characteristics of traffic collisions according to road types (expressway and rural road). Methods: Classifying 267 accidents into expressway and rural road, we analyzed them based on driver characteristics (age, working experience, size of employment), time characteristics (day of accident, time, weather), and accident characteristics (accident causes, accident locations, accident types, driving conditions). Results: When we compared the accidents by road conditions, no differences were found between the driver characteristics. However, from the accident characteristics, the injured person distributions were different by the road conditions. In particular, driving while drowsy is shown to be highly related with the accident characteristics. Conclusion: This study can be used as a guideline and a base line to develop a plan of action to prevent traffic accidents. It can also help to prepare formal regulations about a truck driver's vehicle maintenance and driving attitude for a precaution on road accidents.
$A^*$ algorithm is a global path generation algorithm, and typically create a path using only the distance information. Therefore along the path, a moving vehicle is usually not be considered by driving characteristics. Deceleration at the corner is one of the driving characteristics of the vehicle. In this paper, considering this characteristic, a new evaluation function based path algorithm is proposed to decrease the number of driving path corner, in order to reduce the driving cost, such as driving time, fuel consumption and so on. Also the potential field method is applied for driving of UGV, which is robust against static and dynamic obstacle environment during following the generated path of the mobile robot under. The driving time and path following test was occurred by experiments based on a pseudo UGV, mobile robot in downscaled UGV's maximum and driving speed in corner. The experiment results were confirmed that the driving time by the proposed algorithm was decreased comparing with the results from $A^*$ algorithm.
The characteristics of the sustain-driving circuit were examined in this paper. The sustain-driving circuit is in charge of the most important part of PDP driving because it manages most of the power consumption in the PDP. A couple of gatedriving circuits for the sustain-driving circuit were introduced in this paper, and a new driving circuit was also proposed. This new circuit is more cost-effective and has a simpler PCB layout compared to the conventional one. Some additional driving advantages were noted as well.
Purpose: For patients with CNS injury who are restricted in the use of public transportation, car driving means more than simple movements and is essential for their independent lives, such as participation in society and returning to jobs. Therefore, in order to enhance the quality of life of disabled persons, their high perception and necessity of driving rehabilitation are required. The purpose of this study is to determine the perception and necessity of driver rehabilitation in patients with CNS injury. Methods: In order to survey the perception of patients with CNS injury and necessity of driving rehabilitation, questionnaires were distributed to patients with CNS injury. Questionnaires were composed of demographic characteristics, disability related characteristics, and driver's license related characteristics. Results: Our results showed that the number of driving participants with a driver's license for the disabled was significantly higher than that for non- driving participants with a previous general driver's license in the perception of driving rehabilitation. Conclusion: We suggest that driving rehabilitation for patients with CNS injury should be supported in terms of evaluation and treatment.
Purpose - This study examines the effect of consumers' motivations on the perception and purchase intentions of electric cars. Specifically, it empirically analyzes how moral motivations based on personal environmental values and norms in car usage and purchasing influence the perceived usefulness and purchase intentions of electric cars. Furthermore, it investigates whether the influence of moral motivations on perceived usefulness and purchase intentions varies according to the user's driving characteristics. Design/methodology/approach - An online survey was conducted with 234 respondents, by setting criteria for participants as car owners or primary car users within their households, ensuring the sample composition was not biased in terms of the presence or absence of experience with eco-friendly cars. Findings - The research findings indicate that perceived usefulness mediates the effect of consumers' moral motivations on their intention to purchase electric cars. The results of the moderating effect of driving distance on perceived usefulness revealed a significant interaction effect; however, there was no significant interaction effect on purchase intentions. Specifically, for individuals with shorter driving distances, as consumers' moral motivations increase, their perception of the usefulness of electric cars also increases. In contrast, for those with longer driving distances, the increase in perceived usefulness due to moral motivations shows a decreasing trend. Research implications or Originality - This study considered individual driving characteristics that previous research on electric vehicle adoption overlooked, and suggested that setting specific communicating points for electric cars according to driving distance levels might be effective. Lastly, it proposes directions for future research that motivations influencing eco-friendly vehicle purchases may differ based on driving characteristics
The application of the ultrasonic nozzle has been extended because it is possible atomization of liquid material. In this study, the driving characteristics of the ultrasonic nozzle on the driving circuit were investigated. And the characteristics of the ceramic oscillator were investigated for the temperature stability. The ceramic oscillator were made the Pb[(Sb$\sub$1/2/,Nb$\sub$1/2/)$\sub$0.035/-(Mn$\sub$1/3/Nb$\sub$2/3/)$\sub$0.065/- (Zr$\sub$x/Ti$\sub$l-x/)$\sub$0.9/]O$_3$with mole ratio of Zr/Ti. The ceramis oscillator were need the curie temperature of the over 300[$^{\circ}C$] for the temperature stability. When the Zr/Ti ratio was 49/51, it's curie temperature is 322[$^{\circ}C$] and the electromechanical coupling factor(k$\sub$p/) and mechanical quality factor(Q$\sub$m/) showed the values of 0.555, 1,214, respectively The resonance frequency of ceramic oscillator were from 40KHz to 45KHz. So that, the driving circuit were made a possibility that the frequency are variable. The driving current of ultrasonic nozzle showed the value of maximum 80[mA]. Also, The surface temperature of ceramic oscillator showed 80[$^{\circ}C$] at driving time 10[min]. We knew that the ultrasonic nozzle had stabile driving above 10[min.].
