  • SVM(Support Vector Machine) is a classification method which is recently watched in mechanical learning system. Vapnik, Osuna, Platt etc. had suggested methodology in order to solve needed QP(Quadratic Programming) to realize SVM so that have extended application field. SVM find hyperplane which classify into 2 class by converting from input space converter vector to characteristic space vector using Kernel Function. This is very systematic and theoretical more than neural network which is experiential study method. Although SVM has superior generalization characteristic, it depends on Kernel Function. There are three category in the Kernel Function as Polynomial Kernel, RBF(Radial Basis Function) Kernel, Sigmoid Kernel. This paper has analyzed performance of SVM against kernel using virtual data.

Characteristic-Function-Based Analysis of MIMO Systems Applying Macroscopic Selection Diversity in Mobile Communications

  • Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems can provide significant increments in capacity; however, the capacity of MIMO systems degrades severely when spatial correlation among multipath channels is present. This paper demonstrates that the influence of shadowing on the channel capacity is more substantial than that of multipath fading; therefore, the shadowing effect is actually the dominant impairment. To overcome the composite fading effects, we propose combining macroscopic selection diversity (MSD) schemes with MIMO technology. To analyze the system performance, the capacity outage expression of MIMO-based MSD (MSD-MIMO) systems using a characteristic function is applied. The analytic results show that there are significant improvements when MSD schemes are applied, even for the two-base-station diversity case. It is also observed that the effect of spatial correlation due to multipath fading is almost negligible when multiple base stations cooperatively participate in the mobile communication topology.

  • The correlation between the object function and the design parameter is shown on this paper by using the characteristic function for the mixed result of the structural analysis, the buckling analysis and the table of orthogonal array according to the original overhead crane's dimensional change. About the above two functions, the effectiveness of design change according to the change of design parameters could be estimated. Also, the overhead crane's weight is reduced up to 10.55 percent maintaining the structural stability according to the thickness of plate.

  • This study uses a characteristic function to explain correlations between the objective function and design variables. For the use, structural analysis and buckling analysis are carried out. the dimensional change of an original overhead crane is made based on the table of orthogonal array. For two functions or more, the effectiveness of design change can be evaluated in accordance with change in design parameters. Also, the overhead crane's weight is reduced by up to 10.55 percent while its structural stability maintained.

  • In today's industry, the butterfly valve has been used to control a flow effectively. However, it is difficult to have the existing structural optimization using field analysis from CFD to structure analysis when the structure is influenced by fluid. Therefore, an initial model of this study is to evaluate the stability of the valve using FEM and CFD. And, it selected variable using initial analysis results. Also, it accomplished the shape optimization design using the orthogonal arrangement and characteristic function. Research result, a few experiments showed the optimal results of there dimensional structures to be multi-objective.

  • This paper proposes a new algorithm of clustering similar nodes defined as nodes having similar characteristic values in pure P2P environment. To compare similarity between nodes, we introduce a fitness function whose return value depends only on the two nodes' characteristic values. The higher the return value is, the more similar the two nodes are. We propose a GORGFM algorithm newly in conjunction with the fitness function to recommend and exchange nodes' characteristic values for an interest group formation and maintenance. With the GORGFM algorithm, the interest groups are formed dynamically based on the similarity of users, and all nodes will highly satisfy with the information recommended and received from nodes of the interest group. To evaluate of performance of the GORGFM algorithm, we simulated a matching rate by the total number of nodes of network and the number of iterations of the algorithm to find similar nodes accurately. The result shows that the matching rate is highly accurate. The GORGFM algorithm proposed in this paper is highly flexible to be applied for any searching system on the web.

  • A cylindrical pin fin with inside fluid is optimized based on fixed fin volume by using the one dimensional analytic method. Heat loss from the fin and the pin fin radius for fixed fin volume is presented as a function of the fin length. Temperature variation of the fin with the variation of ambient and inside fluid convection characteristic numbers and fin base thickness is listed. The maximum heat loss at the practical fin length and corresponding optimum fin length and radius are presented as a function of fin base thickness, inside convection characteristic number, fin volume and ambient convection characteristic number. One of the results shows that the optimum pin fin shape becomes relatively fatter as the fin volume increases.

  • This paper presents a mathematical method that represents efficiently high-speed coastal fishing vessel. That is, it represents the numerical hull by using irrational function and hull form characteristic curves, which define a hull form under design conditions. Then it suggests a process that hull form characteristic curves are represented with NURBS and hull form is varied.

  • Experimentally to investigate the conductive characteristic of oil-immersed paper, we observed the leakage current-voltage characteristic of oil-immersed paper, the temperature dependence of ionization rate and the effect of metal electrode on the leakage current. The results showed that the leakage current-voltage characteristic generally followed the experimental equation i=i$_{0}$ exp (K.root.E) and the slope K did not change by the temperature and electric strength, but only when the direct voltage was applied. And also the leakage current seemed to depend on the work function of metal electrode. From the above results we concluded that the deterioration of oil-immersed paper was not only caused by the thermionic emission from the cathode but also by the conductive property of oil-immersed paper in itself and the work function of metal electrode.e.

  • Fashion industry is high value added indust교, whose price is decided by design value so it requires creativity and uniqueness for competition. The purpose of this study is to grasp how the design characteristic of LED that can express new creativity and uniqueness is applied to fashion design and find out the expression characteristic of LED used in fashion design. The study subjects, the design to which LED is applied, were extracted from fashion show and internet search. As a study result, the expression characteristics of LED used for fashion design are as follows. First, for function, tool function that can provide convenience for life and expression function that can provide user with emotional and psychological satisfaction and communication were allowed. Second, for aesthetic changes, many-sided, multiple colors and pattern displays of LED changed design meaning visually and caused aesthetic emotion for observer. Third, for interaction, physical factor of LED, user, dress and environmental factor interacted each other, enabling both-sided communication. Fourth, for amusement, multiple lights of LED activated visual and tactile sense, expressing usefulness and joyfulness on the basis of various display possibilities and changes. The study result will be helpful for developing more unique, creative design according to the change of age and development of science.
