  • In data transmission at the digital satellite broadcasting systems, the delay and spread are caused whit receiving original signals from the transmitter in the receiver. So, there are some problems in data fast transmission. Also, transmitted signals ate received in stale of the combination of transmission delay and noise of channel. The affect of channel noise is reduced when increasing transmission power, but as signal interference due to the transmission delay and spread of channel increase in proportion to the transmission power, there is a problem in spite of increasing the transmission power. And there is the problem to add ISI(inter symbol interference) because the property of the channel is limo-varying due to relative moving in the transceiver Therefore, in this paper, a pulse shaping filter for the high-speed service in digital satellite broadcasting systems was designed and reduced the ISI.

  • We propose the dynamic channel allocation (DCA) algorithm for multi-cell OFDMA systems to avoid co-channel interference (CCI). The proposed algorithm is utilized not in a centralized, but in a distributed manner which reduces complexity. The simulation results confirm that the number of overlapping allocated subcarriers is reduced and the average SINR of a sub-carrier is increased by this algorithm.

  • In this paper, an adaptive beamforming algorithm, based on the Minimum Mean Squared Error (MMSE) criterion, is devised fer adaptive antenna applied to an MC-CDMA system. A new method for updating the weight vector is derived. Computer simulations show that proposed algorithm is capable of rejecting co-channel interference that affects the MC-CDMA system. Thus, the BER performance of the MC-CDMA system is improved compared with that of the MC-CDMA system without using adaptive antenna and that of the DS-CDMA system with adaptive antenna in multi-path Ricean fading channel.

  • In this paper we present an electronic domain solution for chromatic dispersion (CD) monitoring algorithm based on the estimated time domain channel in electronic domain using channel estimation methods. The proposed scheme utilizes kurtosis as a CD measurement, directly computed from the estimated inter-symbol-interference (ISI) channel due to the CD distortion. Hence, the proposed scheme exhibits robust performance under OSNR variation, in contrast to the existing electronic domain approach based on minimum mean squared error (MMSE) fractionally-spaced equalizer taps [1]. The simulation results verify the CD monitoring ability of the proposed scheme.

On Power Splitting under User-Fairness for Correlated Superposition Coding NOMA in 5G System

  • Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has gained the significant attention in the fifth generation (5G) mobile communication, which enables the advanced smart convergence of the artificial intelligence (AI), the internet of things (IoT), and many of the state-of-the-art technologies. Recently, correlated superposition coding (SC) has been proposed in NOMA, to achieve the near-perfect successive interference cancellation (SIC) bit-error rate (BER) performance for the stronger channel users, and to mitigate the severe BER performance degradation for the weaker channel users. In the correlated SC NOMA scheme, the stronger channel user BER performance is even better than the perfect SIC BER performance, for some range of the power allocation factor. However, such excessively good BER performance is not good for the user-fairness, i.e., the more power to the weaker channel user and the less power to the stronger channel user, because the excessively good BER performance of the stronger channel user results in the worse BER performance of the weaker channel user. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the power splitting to establish the user-fairness between both users. First, we derive a closed-form expression for the power splitting factor. Then it is shown that in terms of BER performance, the user-fairness is established between the two users. In result, the power splitting scheme could be considered in correlated SC NOMA for the user-fairness.

A Protection Ratio with Composite Fade Margin for Detailed Frequency Coordination in Microwave Relay System Network

  • In this paper, the formulation of the protection ratio based upon a composite fade margin and availability is newly presented for the detailed planning of frequency coordination in the microwave relay system network, and computed results for co-channel and adjacent channel protection ratios are illustrated over an actual system with 6.2 GHz. It is shown that the protection ratio to assure a quality of service can be expressed in terms of the composite fade margin, noise-to-interference ratio, net filter discrimination, and system parameters. In addition, the net filter discrimination, depending upon the transmitter spectrum mask and the overall receiver filter characteristic, has been examined to investigate the effect of the adjacent channel protection ratio caused by the adjacent channel interference. Regarding simulated results for 6.2 GHz, 60 km, 64-QAM, and N/I=6 dB at the bit error rate of $10^{-6}$, composite fade margin and co-channel protection ratio yield 25.14 and 50.3 dB, respectively. Also, the net filter discrimination of 26.5 dB and the adjacent channel protection ratio of 23.8 dB are obtained at the first adjacent channel of 30 MHz. The proposed method provides some merits in view of a comprehensive and practical application with more detailed and various system parameters needed to access the criteria for making the proper frequency coordination.

IP기반 가전 제어를 위한 전력선 통신망 채널 특성 추정기법에 관한 연구 (A Systematic Method of Probing Channel Characteristics of Home Power Line Communication Network for IP Based Control of Home Appliances)

  • This paper presents a systematic method of probing channel characteristics and communication reliabilities of home power line communication network applied to the Internet accessed control of home appliances. The effects of the three performance deterioating factors, i.e., additive noise, channel attenuation, and intersymbol interference, can be systematically measured by applying the channel probing waveform in the frequency range from 100KHz to 450KHz. Probability of bit error is derived with the probed channel parameters of the signal attenuation, noise and signal-to-interference ratio read in the frequency domain. The agreement between the derived probability of bit error and the measured probability of bit error supports the validity of the proposed approach of probing home power line channel characteristics. The experimental results performed with the constructed test-bed applying the proposed channel probing method also support the feasibility of commercially deploying the PLC modem installed home appliances and their services for the Internet accessed home automation.

  • Interference scenarios and methodologies between a terrestrial mobile service (MS) system and mobile-satellite service (MSS) system in a co-channel environment are established. Taking into account a practical deployment situation for both systems, we perform computational simulation of interference in terms of carrier-to-interference ratio (C/I) and interference-to-noise ratio (I/N) to evaluate the cofrequency interference from an MS system into an MSS system, and from an MSS system into an MS system, respectively. The methodology and results can be used as a guide when planning the deployment of MSS and MS systems with no unacceptable interference impact between them.

인지 기반 MB-OFDM UWB 시스템에서의 간섭 회피 기술 (Interference Avoidance Technology in Cognitive Based MB-OFDM UWB System)

  • 본 논문에서 제안한 무선 인지 기반 초광대역(UWB) 시스템은 주파수 자원 이용 효율성을 높이기 위한 주파수 공유 기술인 UWB와 무선 인지 기술이 결합된 기술로, 본 논문에서는 무선 인지 기술을 이용하여 타 시스템과의 간섭을 회피하여 성능 향상을 보임을 확인하고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 타 통신 시스템과의 간섭 문제를 해결하기 위하여 무선 인지 기술을 MB-OFDM UWB 시스템에 적용하였으며, 간섭 신호 측정을 위한 방안으로는 FCC에서 제안한 간섭 온도 모델을 사용하였다. 간섭 온도 측정을 통해 시스템의 채널 용량을 계산한 후 간섭 상황을 해결하는 방안을 제안한다. 계산 과정의 인지 엔진의 연산 알고리즘으로는 유전 알고리즘을 사용하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과, 제안된 방식은 현재 문제시될 수 있는 UWB 통신 시스템에서의 간섭 문제를 해결하는데 좋은 효과가 있음을 확인하였다.

협대역 간섭 채널환경에서 IS-OFDM 성능 분석 (IS-OFDM performance analysis for narrow band interference channel)

  • 본 논문에서는 광대역 무선통신에서 협대역 간섭을 제거할 수 있는 새로운 OFDM(Orthogonal frequency Division Multiplexing) 방식인 IS(Interference Suppressing)-OFDM을 소개한다. 이 IS-OFDM 방식은 직교 Hadamard 계열을 이용하여 분리할 수 있는 여러 단의 기존 OFDM의 병렬 연결로 구성되는 시스템으로 각 서브 캐리어는 전송된 모든 심볼을 포함하며 수신측에서는 동일 서브 캐리어에 존재하는 서로 다른 심볼들을 직교 Hadamard 계열을 이용하여 복조되도록 한다. IS-OFDM 시스템의 성능을 분석하고, 검토하기 위하여 Monte-Carlo 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 협대역 채널 환경에서 기존 OFDM 시스템과 비교하였으며 성능 개선 효과가 있음을 보였다.
