This paper investigates the problem of co-tier interference mitigation for dynamic small- cell networks, in which the load of each small-cell varies with the number of active associated small-cell users (SUs). Due to the fact that most small-cell base stations (SBSs) are deployed in an ad-hoc manner, the problem of reducing co-tier interference caused by dynamic loads in a distributed fashion is quite challenging. First, we propose a new distributed channel allocation method for small-cells with dynamic loads and define a dynamic interference graph. Based on this approach, we formulate the problem as a dynamic interference graph game and prove that the game is a potential game and has at least one pure strategy Nash equilibrium (NE) point. Moreover, we show that the best pure strategy NE point minimizes the expectation of the aggregate dynamic co-tier interference in the small-cell network. A distributed dynamic learning algorithm is then designed to achieve NE of the game, in which each SBS is unaware of the probability distributions of its own and other SBSs' dynamic loads. Simulation results show that the proposed approach can mitigate dynamic co-tier interference effectively and significantly outperform random channel selection.

In this paper, we propose a new single carrier - frequency domain equalization (SC-FDE) structure to cope with narrow band interference. In the conventional SC-FDE structure, when a high-power narrow band interference exists, channel estimation and data recovery is difficult. To relieve from this problem, this paper proposes a new SC-FDE frame structure to enable frequency-domain channel estimation in the environments that exist narrow band interference. Specifically, in the conventional method, the channel estimation is performed in time-domain first and from that, the frequency-domain channel is obtained by Fourier transform. In contrast, we proposed a new SC-FDE structure to enable frequency-domain channel estimation directly from received signals without time-domain channel estimation. The receiver performance improvement is verified through computer simulation. According to the results, the proposed technique can detect the signal with less than 2 dB loss compared with jammer-free environments, while the conventional method does not communicate with each other.

In cellular mobile radio systems with frequency reuse, the interference signals degrade the channel estimation and signal detection performance due to the low signal-to-interference ratio near coverage boundaries. When the preamble pilot sequences from different cells are orthogonal or located in disjointed positions, they can be used for multi-cell channel estimation and interference cancellation. In time-varying channels caused by Doppler spread, data pilot symbols are needed for channel estimations. However, data pilot symbols are usually located in identical positions for the overhead reduction, which degrades the channel estimation performance. In this paper, we demonstrate a significant amount of performance improvement is achieved by multiplying different pseudonoise(PN) sequences to the data pilot symbols from adjacent interference cells. In particular, for detection scheme using maximal ratio combining(MRC) and inter-cell spatial demultiplexing(ISD), quantitative performance gain of spectral efficiency for different values of Doppler frequency and interference power is presented.

Conventional interference alignment (IA) for a MIMO interference channel (IFC) requires global and perfect channel state information at transmitter (CSIT) to achieve the optimal degrees of freedom (DoF), which prohibits practical implementation. In order to alleviate the global CSIT requirement caused by the coupled relation among all of IA equations, we propose an IA scheme with a single feedback link of each receiver in a limited feedback environment for a three-user MIMO IFC. The main feature of the proposed scheme is that one of users takes out a fraction of its maximum number of data streams to decouple IA equations for three-user MIMO IFC, which results in a single link feedback structure at each receiver. While for the conventional IA each receiver has to feed back to all transmitters for transmitting the maximum number of data streams. With the assumption of a random codebook, we analyze the upper bound of the average throughput loss caused by quantized channel knowledge as a function of feedback bits. Analytic results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the conventional IA scheme in term of the feedback overhead and the sum rate as well.

In this paper, we analyze and simulate co-channel interference (CCI) mitigation method for cooperative communication systems employing decode-and-forward relays. In co-channel interference mitigation method, A source transmits signals that are encoded by orthogonal code. Then, the receiver can distinguish its own signals form the received signals by using the orthogonal code which is already known to the receiver. The orthogonal codes applied to this paper are orthogonal Gold codes. However, we can employ other codes, which have orthogonality, as the orthogonal code. In addition, we utilize a space time block coding (STBC) scheme for enhancing the system performance by obtaining additional array gain.

In this paper, we have estimated by means of the theoretical analysis and the simulation of FCA(Fixed Channel Assignment) and CB(Channel Borrowing) in order to consider the CB as a technique to meet ducting interference from adjacent countries. Also, we assumed that the receiving power level of ducting interference with time rate can be characterized by the normal distribution due to the previous measured results, and the ducting interferences which are exceeding the reference power level can be regarded as calls. These calls can be processed by CR assignment and by which sharing channels between cells brings to us the method of meeting the ducting interference to use spectrum resources effectively. However, the spectrum frequency reusing and the interference effects between channels should be considered in CB simulation in the future.

We propose a subspace interference alignment by orthogonalization of reference vectors. The proposed method improves the sum-rate capacity degradation due to the channel decomposition error and channel estimation error in the real environment. Using the proposed method, each cell uses the reference vector that is orthogonal to the adjacent cells. Then the residual interference produced by the channel decomposition error and the channel estimation error is decreased. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves the enhanced sum-rate capacity.

To reduce the outage probability and to increase the transmission capacity, the importance of repeaters in cellular systems keeps increasing. Unlike optical repeaters which require wireline connections, RF repeaters are easy to install, have low limitations in location and also have a reduced operational expense such as the optical fiber maintenance cost. On the other hand, RF repeaters suffer the interference due to the feedback signals between the transmitter and receiver antennas, hence require an extra interference cancellation method when the amount of the feedback signal reduction by using the shielding is not sufficient. In this paper, a channel estimation method for two-path feedback interference signals in the ICS (Interference Cancellation System) repeaters using baseband signal processing is proposed and its performance is evaluated. When compared with the conventional method which estimates each multipath individually, the proposed method achieves 10 dB performance gain in terms of the normalized mean-squared-error.

Upcoming cellular networks such as LTE-advanced and IEEE 802.16m are enhanced by relay stations to support high data rate multimedia services and minimize the shadow zone with low cost. Enhancing the relay stations, however, divides the multihop cellular network into smaller microcells and the distance between microcells is closer, which intends large intra-cell and inter-cell interference. Especially the access link on downlink in the OFDMA cellular network is the throughput bottleneck due to the severe interference caused by base stations and relay stations transmitting large data to mobile stations simultaneously. In this paper, we present interference aware channel allocation algorithm to avoid severe interference on multihop cellular networks with random topology. Proposed algorithm increases SINR(signal to interference plus noise ratio) and decreases number of required control messages for channel allocation, so that increases overall throughput on the networks.
In the system necessary for safety such as the train control system, to make train control information be sent correctly is very important. In the case of the system such as RF-CBTC(Radio Frequency-Communication Based Train Control), sometimes failure in correctness of train controlling information may happen because the information is sent throughout wireless transmission between on-board system of a train and wayside transmitter, and then, it is exposed to noises. Of RF-channel interference, there are various forms. Under the environment of mobile telecommunications, adjacent-channel interference and Co-channel interference are in trouble, and under the environment of the wireless LAN, inter-symbol interference is in trouble. Also, the system of the cellular CDMA mobile telecommunication is affected on the RF-channel interference such as Doppler effect, multi-cell interference, and other users' intervention. In this paper, we analyzed the effect of the train control information related to fading, intervention and other noises made in the underground interval and explained the transmission characteristics numerically. Furthermore, we calculated the mean of the error terms by increasing users in the system of the cellular CDMA. As the method for decrease the error term of sent information, we represented the way adjusting the arrangement of antennas, and we did the model related to the system of RF-CBTC in which the location of an antenna is calculated with really measured value of the transmission characteristics and the way confirming reliability of the wireless transmission.
