  • The purpose of this study is to identify differences in processes of change, decision making, and self-efficacy by exercise behavioral stages and determine variables significantly affecting the older people's participation in exercises. The subjects of this study included 299 people aged 65 or over who were residents of G and S districts in Busan Metropolitan City. They were selected through purposive quota sampling at colleges and centers for old people and homes in order that they could be evenly distributed over stages of pre-contemplation, contemplation, preparation, action and maintenance. Data were analyzed using descriptive, ANOVA, Logistic Regression. Variables that discriminate between participants and non-participants in exercise include self-reevaluation, reinforcing management, cons and self-efficacy. Thus if variables that discriminate between participant and non-participation in exercise such as self-reevaluation, reinforcing management, cons and self-efficacy are fully considered in designing nursing interventions for inducing old people to become exercise participants, it would provide guidelines for nursing intervention programs as appropriate for the people's exercise stages. • This study analyzed changes in postpartum depression in mothers from one month after childbirth to the first year using panel data collected overtime, in an effort to determine the relationship between the amount of change and child-rearing system variables. The subjects were 1097 mothers who belonged to both the lower and upper $30^{th}$ percentile groups in the depression change distribution of the 2008 Korean Children Panel Study (PSKC), a large, population-based study conducted by the Korea Institute of Childcare and Education. The data were analyzed by t-tests, $x^2$ tests, partial correlation coefficient analyses and regression analyses. The results are summarized as follows: First, the mothers' postpartum depression showed a significant increase during the first year as opposed to the first month after birth. Second, after controlling for socio-demographical variables of the mothers, the changes related to depression showed a positive relationship with child-rearing stress, and the child's emotional temperament, but showed a negative relationship with the mother's self-esteem, the child's birth order, and the father's participation in child-rearing activities. Third, variables having a significant effect on changes in postpartum depression were the mother's self-esteem and child-rearing stress, the child's age in months, and social support. Variables pertaining to the mother's characteristics variables had a more powerful effect than other child-rearing system variable categories. The results suggest the necessity to develop a parental education program or a mother-child health service in consideration of the variables that affect mothers, as determined in this study, in an effort to prevent postpartum depression.

  • The purpose of this paper is to estimate consumer's satisfaction by purchasing farmer's processed food. So, this paper surveyed consumers which have purchased Korean traditional soybean paste products, by reason of limiting research objects among lots of farmer's processed food. A survey of 220 consumers was carried out on September and October 2016. For this matters, this paper used multiple linear regression model(included LOG-LIN model) and, set up 1 dependent and 11 independent variables. As the analysis results, we could find out that consumer's satisfaction was affected by 6 variables(price, taste, ease of cooking, confidence of product information, social awareness and perceived 6th industrialization). Among these variables, the strongest variable was "social awareness", and the second was "perceived 6th industrialization". This paper also estimated the rate of change that a dependent variable was affected by independent variables. As the results, this paper found out that "perceived 6th industrialization" had the highest rate of change(5.8%) and the second was "social awareness"(5.6%). This paper proposed 7 implications of Korean traditional soybean paste. Those were the proper price policy and quality value's promotion, quality Improvement and confidence enhancement, development of products for consumer's convenience, enhancement of social awareness, enhancement of politic management about 6th industrialization and accessibility of purchasing information.

  • We study centrally symmetric orthogonal polynomials satisfying an admissible partial differential equation of the form $$ Au_{xx} + 2Bu_{xy} + Cu_{yy} + Du_x + Eu_y = \lambda_n y, $$ where $A, B, \cdots, E$ are polynomials independent of n and $\lambda_n$ is the eignevalue parameter depending on n. We show that they are either the product of Hermite polymials or the circle polynomials up to a complex linear change of variables. Also we give some properties of them.

  • Purpose : This study was carried out to identify the factor of decisional balance for exercise. This was composed of a set of variables at the level of decision making when the elderly decide to do exercise. It was used to classify and identify the characteristics of the stages of change for exercise to which the elderly belong, and was used to identify the variables of decisional balance which influence the stage of change for exercise in the elderly. Methods : Convenient samples of 198 subjects over age 60 in Seoul( mean age=70) were selected from community living, mentally competant older adults and the data was collected from April 1, 1999 to May 31, 1999. The research instrument was the Decisional Balance Measure for Exercise(Marcus & Owen., 1992), Stage of Change Measure(Marcus et al,1992). The data was analyzed by SAS Program. Results: 1. According to stage of change measure, without missing data,191 subjects were distributed in each stage of change for exercise : 50 subjects(26.1%), 7 subjects (3.6%), 52 subjects(27.2%), 4 subjects(2%), and 78(40.8%) belonged to the precontemplation stage, contemplation stage, preparation stage, action stage and maintenace stage. 2. Factor analysis identified 3 factors of decisional balance as appropriate factors for exercise of the elderly and named by researchers; 1)'Perceived Physical-psychological benefit', 2)'Perceived Physical-psychological burden', and 3)'Perceived time burden'. 3. The analysis of variance showed that the two components Perceived Physical - psychological benefit(F=45.95, P=.0001), and Perceived Physical-psychological burden (F=26.52, P=.0001) were significantly associated with stage of change. 4. Through the discriminant analysis, it was found that both 'Self Perceived Physical - Psychological benefit' and 'Perceived Physical-Psychological burden' were the influential variables in discriminating the three stages of change(pre-contemplation, preparation, and maintenance). Conclusion : Results are consistent with the application of the Transtheoretical model, which has been used to understand how people change health behaviors. Even though this study is a cross-sectional, not a longitudinal study, the findings of this study give useful information for exercise intervention about especially the factors relating to decision making for exercise of the elderly in the different stages of change of exercise.

  • Sensitivity information has been used for linearization of nonlinear functions in optimization. Basically, sensitivity is a derivative of a function with respect to a design variable. Design sensitivity is repeatedly calculated in optimization. Since sensitivity calculation is extremely expensive, there are studies to directly use the sensitivity in the design process. When a small design change is required, an engineer makes design changes by considering the sensitivity information. Generally, the current process is performed one-by-one for design variables. Methods to exploit the sensitivity information are developed. When a designer wants to change multiple variables with some relationship, the directional derivative can be utilized. In this case, the first derivative can be calculated. Only small design changes can be made from the first derivatives. Orthogonal arrays can be used for moderate changes of multiple variables. Analysis of Variance is carried out to find out the regional influence of variables. A flow is developed for efficient use of the methods. A software system with the flow has been developed. The system can be easily interfaced with existing commercial systems through a file wrapping technique. The sensitivity information is calculated by finite difference method. Various examples are solved to evaluate the proposed algorithm and the software system.

  • The EPRCA(Enhanced Proportional Rate Control Algorithm) is one of the explicit rate control algorithm recommended by the ATM forum. EPRCA algorithm is using only two threshold to buffer change is not considered for calculating ER value. In this paper to cover the shortage, two more variables are added for considering increase of buffer quantity. So calculating proper ER would avoid before getting into the congestion situation. To analysis the affect, EPRCA and proposed algorithm are compared through simulation by analysis of change of buffer length and ACR change
