Geostationary Ocean Color Imager(GOCI), the World's first spaceborne ocean color observation satellite operated in geostationary orbit, was successfully launched on May 2010. The main missions of GOCI is the coastal environment monitoring of GOCI in order to meet the necessity of long-term climate change monitoring and research. The GOCI have higher spatial resolution than MODIS, $500m{\times}500m$, and 8 spectral ocean color channels. GOCI have a capability for observation on the coastal environment change, GOCI perform the observation with 8 times a day. In this paper, we presented the more improved results for observation on the coastal environment change than MODIS ocean color sensor and detected the spatial difference of CDOM for monitoring coastal environment change.
The purpose of this study was to identify observation methods, observation targets and their changes in elementary school students' observing aquariums. Silurus microdorsalis, Orthrias nudus, Iksookimia rotundicaudata and Semisulcospira bensoni in two aquariums were observed for 40 minutes in every week during 10 weeks by elementary children. Students' observation methods and targets were analyzed with their observation diary. Also the change of observation methods and targets on each species were analysed based on the observation diary. This study found the facts which was change of observation methods and observation targets according to observable theme of each species as time goes by. The results also found children's various methods and targets in observing living objects and observation methods were changed variously during 10 week-observation. The results of this study may provide more various and systematic norm and assessment criteria for teaching observation.
The Fourth Assessment Report of IPCC predicted that global warming is already happening and it should be caused from the increase of greenhouse gases by the extension of human activities. These global changes will give a serious influence for human society. Global environment can be monitored by the earth observation using satellite. For the observation of global climate change and resolving the global warming process, satellite should be useful equipment and its detecting data contribute to social benefits effectively. JAXA (former NASDA) has made a new plan of the Global Change Observation Mission (GCOM) for monitoring of global environmental change. SGLI (Second Generation GLI) onboard GCOM-C (Climate) satellite, which is one of this mission, provides an optical sensor from Near-DV to TIR. Characteristic specifications of SGLI are as follows; 1) 250 m resolutions over land and area along the shore, 2) Three directional polarization observation (red and NIR), and 3) 500 m resolutions temperature over land and area along shore. These characteristics are useful in many fields of social benefits. For example, multi-angular observation and 250 m high frequency observation give new knowledge in monitoring of land vegetation. It is expected that land products with land aerosol information by polarization observation are improved remarkably. We are studying these possibilities by ground data and satellite data.
This study analyzed the observation characteristics with the subject of observation data through defining the change of the observation degree as attention /conscious observation /visual understanding. Furthermore, by obtaining the formular with which to estimate the subjects' observation amount, this study suggests a potential method for easier analysis of observation characteristics. The conclusions from the study are as the followings. First, the observation frequency was being generated with wide deviation among subjects while there was a flow-on characteristics depending on the degree of observation. These characteristics enabled the study to obtain the formular with which to estimate the observation amount. Second, the study could establish the area frequency by grade from the entire observation data. The area I was at most 4% for the area frequency but accounted for 18.2% of the entire effective observation time, and the area II 16% and 38.7% respectively. Accordingly, only considering the observation area distribution of the area I or the areas I and II shows which position of the space the subjects were observing. Third, with the subject of the relatively higher observation time at at the subject's observation characteristics, as the observation phase was getting higher, the observation time decreased more. Forth, by obtaining the formular to estimate the observation amount for observation data according to the change of observation degree, the study could find the estimating observation characteristics of additional subjects. The formular shortens the analysis time and facilitates the analysis process.
This study has inferred the mechanism of psychological observation activities through comparison analysis of the observation data acquired from eye-tracking and their post-estimation. The results of their analysis can be summarized as the followings. First, even though the frame of analysis has been set up so that there might not be any change to the number of the sections even with any change of consecutive observation times, the fact that the time by area decreases along with the change of consecutive observation from three times to six and nine times means that the time spent on "recognition" of space information reduces in the course that the feature of observing for space information switches from "perception to recognition". Second, the subjects moves their eyes incessantly in order to acquire space information while observing the space, when it was confirmed that there was a difference between "the space which the subjects searched for information by means of observation activities" and "that which they thought they observed that remaining in their consciousness". The appreciation of this kind of difference is very significant for the analysis of observation features. Third, the short observation (0.1 second, three times of consecutive observations) is consistent with "Ares I, intensively searched = that marked as having been observed consciously" by 60%, while the long-time observation (0.3 second, 9 times of consecutive observations) had 56%, which was relatively high, of "Area I, searched intensively ${\neq}$ that marked as having been observed consciously", which means that the observation feature seen at the activities of "consciousness : unconsciousness" and "observation : search" had some change in the course of changing from "perception to recognition".
The purpose of this study was to analyze the responses of pre-service elementary teachers to the plant learning using plant-observation activities and observation journal writings. Thirty pre-service teachers participated in this study. Before and after practicing plant observation and observation journal writing for 11 weeks, pre-service teachers' interest to plants, attitude to plant-observation teaching, and plant-observation teaching efficacy were examined using a questionnaire. Also, the observation journals, reflective journal writings, and interviews were analyzed to investigate their qualitative change. In addition, the pre-service teachers were classified by multi-dimensional scaling and cluster analysis with respect to attitude to plant-observation teaching and observation journal writing, and teaching efficacy. While the pre-service teachers showed significant increase of the interest to plants and plant-observation teaching efficacy, and positive change of the attitude to plant-observation teaching, there was a little difference between gender with more positive effects on females. The positive attitude changes of pre-service teachers included positive recognition about plants and the diversity, increased interest and curiosity about plants, careful observation about nearby plants, and independent learning and positive inquiry with plants. In terms of teaching efficacy, they showed positive change such as enjoyment and satisfaction with plant-observation, confidence as elementary teachers in the future, and recognition about the importance of elementary teachers for plant education. However, the changes were different among the groups classified by attitude to plant-observation teaching and observation journal writings, and plant-observation teaching efficacy.
Classroom observation instruments are often used to evaluate teachers' instructional practices and provide feedback to inform interventions or research studies, or professional development efforts. While designed as research tools, many classroom observation instruments can provide important information to support teachers' learning and instructional change by providing a focus for formative assessment or self-evaluation of practice. In this paper, we review two classroom observation tools and the protocols for their use with an implementation example for one of the tools. These tools are more foreign to the field compared to others but have features that might serve as affordances in relation to the purposes of a specific investigation.

Unlike a still body in a photograph, the concept of time applies to a moving body wearing clothes. Clothes change shape according to movement, and multidimensional formative observation elements are required to perceive this. Thus, the purpose of this research is to develop a system for observing body movements and clothing. This experimental study was designed based on embodiment research. The first stage of the study derived body movement and clothing observation items from theory. In the second stage, 11 fashion personnel participated in experimental research to verify the observation items and identify those that needed correction or supplementation. The results showed that body movement and clothing observation items can be classified as follows: large moving bodies, moving clothes, body and clothes movement, and body and clothes space. The observation system for body movement and clothes presented can be used to construct the formation of moving clothes.
Yellow Sea Buoy (YSB) was moored in the center of the Yellow Sea at 35$^{\circ}$51'36"N, 124$^{\circ}$34'42"E, on 12 September 2007. YSB is a large buoy of 10 m diameter, and as such is more durable against collision by ships and less likely to be lost or removed by fishing nets compared to small ordinary buoys of 2.3 m diameter. YSB is equipped with 12 kinds of oceanic and meteorologic instruments, and transfers its realtime observation data to KORDI through ORBCOMM system every 1 hour. Data on ocean winds, air temperature, air pressure, and sea temperature appear to be accurate, while water property sensors (AAQ1183), which are sensitive to fouling, are producing errors. YSB (2007), Ieodo ocean research station (2003), and Gageocho ocean research station, which was completed in October 2009, will establish the 2 degrees interval by latitude in the Yellow Sea, and they will contribute though the 'Operational Oceanography System' as the important realtime observation network.

Climate change adaptation must be prepared, because the pattern of climate change in Korea is higher than the global average. In particular, it is estimated that Korea's economic loss due to climate change will reach 2,800 trillion won, and at least 300 trillion won will be needed for adaptation to climate change(KEI, 2011). Accurate climate change forecasts and impact forecasts are essential for efficient use of enormous climate change adaptation costs. For this climate change prediction and impact analysis, it is necessary to grasp not only the global average concentration but also the inhomogeneity of the greenhouse gas concentration which appears in each region. In this study, we analyze the feasibility of developing a greenhouse gas observation satellite, which is a cause of climate change, and present a development plan for a low orbit environmental satellite by examining the current status of the operation of the greenhouse gas observation satellite. The GHG monitoring satellite is expected to expand the scope of environmental monitoring by water/soil/ecology in addition to climate change, along with weather/agriculture/soil observation satellites.
