Ulcerative Proctitis Accompanying Massive Hepatic Necrosis in Four Water Monitors (Varanus salvator) (네 마리의 물도마뱀(Varanus salvator)에 있어서 확역성간괴사(擴域性肝壞死)를 동반한 궤양성직장염(潰瘍性直腸炎))

  • Four water monitors at Zoological Garden, Chang Gyeong Won, Seoul, died within a week after signs of anorexia, lethargy, and discharge from eyes, nasal and oral cavities. The autopsy findings of the four animals were similar. As a main lesion, the liver was congested and diffuse necrosis was observed. The terminal portions of the rectum were studded with numerous small ulcers causing rectal stenosis. Histopathologically, massive hepatic necrosis preceded by fatty changes were evident. The rectal lesions manifested coagulative necrosis and thrombosis in the mucosa and submucosa.

  • In this paper, a new sliding mode observer is proposed by introducing a new sliding surface. The new sliding surface is defined based on the augmented error system with virtual error state. The new sliding mode observer have more degree of freedom than the existing VSS observer. It can have dynamics on the sliding surface.

  • This paper deals with 2D and 3D analyses by finite element method for the characteristics of reluctance type transverse flux linear motor. Although 3D analysis is essential because of the characteristics by flux direction. 2D analyses are also used by considering the effective axial length and using the equivalent reluctance 2D model. The thrust, the normal force and the coenergy of the machine are calculated and compared by the results of the three analysis methods.

  • The detent force by end-effect has a bad influence on moving coil type Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor(PMLSM). So, the reduction of detent force by end-effect is especially required for improvement of thrust characteristics. In this paper, in order to reduce detent force by end-effect the auxiliary teeth is installed at the end part of mover and it is optimized by using neural network.

  • By enforcing skew of permanent magnet, detent force decreases, but lateral force that acts for vertical direction of moving direction occurs. This force deteriorates various performance of PMLSM as that acts to friction force between mover and LM guide. Therefore, in this paper, V skew model is proposed for lateral force's reduction and simulation results are compared to experimental value.
