분할 적분 기법을 적용한 N-sigma-T 분자동역학 전산모사 (A Splitting Time Integrator for Fully Flexible Cell Molecular Dynamics)

  • Fully flexible cell preserves Hamiltonian in structure so that the symplectic time integrator is applicable to the equations of motion. In the direct formulation of fully flexible cell N-Sigma-T ensemble, a generalized leapfrog time integration (GLF) is applicable for fully flexible cell simulation, but the equations of motion by GLF has structure of implicit algorithm. In this paper, the time integration formula is derived for the fully flexible cell molecular dynamics simulation by using the splitting time integration. It separates flexible cell Hamiltonian into terms corresponding to each of Hamiltonian term. Thus the simple and completely explicit recursion formula was obtained. We compare the performance and the result of present splitting time integration with those of the implicit generalized leapfrog time integration.

  • Fully flexible cell preserves Hamiltonian in structure, so the symplectic time integrator is applied to the equations of motion. Primarily, generalized leapfrog time integration (GLF) is applicable, but the equations of motion by GLF have some of implicit formulas. The implicit formulas give rise to a complicate calculation for coding and need an iteration process. In this paper, the time integration formulas are obtained for the fully flexible cell molecular dynamics simulation by using the splitting time integration. It separates flexible cell Hamiltonian into terms corresponding to each of Hamiltonian term, so the simple and completely explicit recursion formula was obtained. The explicit formulas are easy to implementation for coding and may be reduced the integration time because they are not need iteration process. We are going to compare the resulting splitting time integration with the implicit generalized leapfrog time integration.

  • Photoelectrochemical cell (PEC) is one of the attractive ways to produce clean and renewable energy. However, solar to hydrogen production via PEC system generally requires high external bias, because of material's innate electronic band potential relative to hydrogen reduction potential and/or charge separation issue. For spontaneous photo-water splitting, here, we design dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) and their monolithic tandem cell incorporated with a $BiVO_4$ photoanode. $BiVO_4$ has high conduction band edge potential and suitable band gap (2.4eV) to absorb visible light. To achieve efficient $BiVO_4$ photoanode system, electron and hole mobility should be improved, and we demonstrate a tandem cell in which $BiVO_4/WO_3$ film is connected to cobalt complex based DSSC.

  • 본 논문은 멀티캐스트 ATM 스위치를 위한 새로운 복사망에 관하여 언급한다. Lee의 복사망 제안 이후 현재까지 많은 연구가 진행되어 왔으나 스위치 내에서의 오버플로우와 셀 충돌 문제는 여전히 문제점으로 제기되어 왔다. 본 논문에서는 치러한 문제점을 개선하기 위해 공유 버퍼를 갖는 3차원 멀티캐스트 스위치 구조를 제안함으로서 높은 부하에서도 다중경로와 다중출력을 통해 오버플로우와 충돌을 줄일 수 있는 방법에 관하여 언급한다. 이를 위해 큰 팬아웃의 셀을 처리하기 위한 셀 분할 알고리즘(Cell splitting algorithm)과 Lee의 Broadcast Banyan Network을 확장시킨 복사망을 재안하였다. 셀 복사는 셀의 두 비트 멀티캐스트 패턴과 부울 방식의 내부분할 알고리즘(Boolean interval splitting algorithm)을 사용하여 네트워크가 갖는 자가-라우팅의 특성에 따라 이루어지도록 하였다. 제안된 복사망에서는 Lee의 복사망에서 문제가 되었던 오버플로우 문제, 큰 팬아웃의 셀 처리 문제, 셀 충돌 문제 등을 개선시킴으로서 기존의 멀티캐스트 ATM 스위치 성능을 향상시키고자 하였다. 시뮬래이션에 의한 성능 평가 결과 기존의 방법과 비교하여 산출량, 셀 손실률, 셀 지연에 대해 좋은 성능을 보이고 있다.

Advanced Nano-Structured Materials for Photocatalytic Water Splitting

  • The production of oxygen and hydrogen from solar water splitting has been considered to be an ultimate solution for energy and environmental issues, and over the past few years, nano-sized semiconducting metal oxides alone and with graphene have been shown to have great promise for use in photocatalytic water splitting. It is challenging to find ideal materials for photoelectrochemical water splitting, and these have limited commercial applicability due to critical factors, including their physico-chemical properties, the rate of charge-carrier recombination and limited light absorption. This review article discusses these main features, and recent research progress and major factors affect the performance of the water splitting reaction. The mechanism behind these interactions in transition metal oxides and graphene based nano-structured semiconductors upon illumination has been discussed in detail, and such characteristics are relevant to the design of materials with a superior photocatalytic response towards UV and visible light.

  • Electro-electrodialysis (EED) experiments were carried out for the HI concentration from HIx $(HI-H_2O-I_2)$ solution to improve the Hl decomposition reaction in the thermochemical water-splitting is (iodine-Sulfur) process. EED cell is composed of the collector electrode and electrolyte. Nafion 117 which was cation exchange membrane used as an electrolyte, and the activated carbon cloth used as an electrode. The HI concentration experiment was carried out using the HIx solution and molar ratio of the $I_2$ were varied from 1 to 3 mole. The cell voltages were decreased as temperature increase. And, membrane properties such as transport number of proton and electro-osmosis coefficient were decreased as temperature increase

생쥐 및 소 수정란의 분할방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Splitting Methods in Mouse and Bovine Embryos)

  • This study was carried out to obtain the basic information on splitting and culture of mouse and bovine embryos. Two-, four-, eight-, cell and morula mouse embryos were digested with pronase, splitted in vitro by micro-glass needel with hand, and bovine embryos were splitted by micromanipulator. The splitted embryos were cultured under 5% of CO2 gas in air at 37$^{\circ}C$ for 48-72 hours. The results obtained in this study were summarized as follows: 1. The mouse and cattle were superovulated by 5IU of PMS and HCG, and 2500IU of PMS and 25mg of PGF2$\alpha$, respectively. The average number of embryos after superovulation were 32.5$\pm$8.2 and 7.5$\pm$3:1, respectively. 2. Out of total 122 embryos splitted, the successful splitting rate was 75.0%, 66.7%, 68.4% and 71.4% in 2-, 4-, 8- and morula embryos in mouse, respectively. There was no different splitting rate between mouse(71.4%) and bovine embryos(66.7%) in morula. 3. The successful culture rate of splitted embryos was 68.0% and 67.9% in mouse and bovine embryos, respectively.

돼지 분할란의 체외발생능 및 급속동결에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Developmental Rate and Rapid Freezing of Bisected Porcine Embryos)

  • 본 연구는 돼지 수정란의 2, 4, 8세포배 및 상실배로부터 분리된 분할배의 작성율, 발생능 및 급속동결에 미치는 영향을 구명하고자 실시되었으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. l. Pronase 처리로 분할배를 작성했을 때, 성공율은 2세포배에서 85.7% 이었고, 평균은 68.0% 이었다. Manipulator를 이용했을 경우에는 2세포배 76.6% 및 4세포배 74.3%의 성공율을 나타냈다. 2. 분할배를 체외배양했을 때 배반포기까지의 발달율은 2, 4, 8세포배 및 상실배에서 pronase 처리의 경우 각각 24.1%, 20.4%, 25.5% 및 26.2%이었고 manipulator를 이용하였을 경우 각각 36.4%, 39.5%, 36.1% 및 4l.9% 이었다. 3. 분할배를 동결 융해했을 때 배반포기까지의 발달율은 2세포배에서는 glycerol(16.l%), 4세포배에서는 DMSO(16.7%) 및 상실배에서는 ethyleneglycol(27.6%)의 내동제를 이용한 경우에서 각각 가장 좋은 성적을 나타냈다.

와류 셀을 이용한 풍력블레이드 에어포일 주위 유동 제어 (Flow Control on Wind Turbine Airfoil with a Vortex Cell)

  • 높은 효율의 풍력터빈 블레이드을 위해 와류 셀이 장착된 에어포일의 정지상태 및 동실 속 상태에서의 유동제어 특성을 수치적으로 연구하였다. 수치기법은 Roe의 flux-difference-splitting을 사용한 격자점 중심 유한체적법과 이중시간 전진 기법을 사용하는 내재적 시간적분법을 사용하였다. 계산결과 와류 셀을 장착한 경우 셀 내부의 부압으로 인해 양항비증가를 얻을 수 있음을 확인하였다. 동실속의 경우 셀 내부의 와류에 의해 hysterisis 현상을 상당히 감소시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다.
