  • This paper introduces the design and implementation of product search support agent for an efficient Internet shopping. In existing shopping malls, electronic catalogs provide the product information by subject or keyword, or the buying information by purchasing history. This proposed product search support agent system is designed to analyze navigating patterns of customers, extract more effective buying information with regard to the current trend in customer navigating . In conclusion, this product search support agent can propose more suitable buying information to customers that he can be proposed to make purchases more efficiently.

  • In the catalogs that have presently been under research, the product information cannot be represented in a classified form but it also fails to be well defined, lacking the description of detail information for various products on a systematic fashion. And the product information is duplicated on its representation. In this study, an implementing model is to be proposed to analyze and classify the information that can be in use of describing various products, and to describe an integrated products information for various types of products while making up for the weak points of presently available researches. Also, this study shows that it is possible for the proposed model to represent various units of product information with presently proposed model applied to computers and book products in high demand of transaction, and by implementing electronic catalogues in the existing researches to prove its efficiency.

  • Three-dimensional mesh models have been widely used in various applications such as simulations, animations, and e-catalogs. In such applications the normal vectors of mesh models are used mainly for shading and take up the major portion of data size and transmission time paper over networks. Therefore a variety of techniques have been developed to compress them efficiently. In this paper, we propose the MOEC (Modified Octree Encoding Compression) algorithm, which allow multi lever compression ratios for 3D mesh models. In the algorithm, a modified octree has nodes representing their own positions and supporting a depth of the tree so that the normal vectors are compressed up to levels where the shading is visually indistinguishable. This approach provides efficient in compressing normals with multi-level ratios, without additional encoding when changing in compression ratio is required.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the guidelines for the planning and design of officetels, meeting the requirements of life in one-person household which is a new type in housing market. Literature survey is used as a research method. We analyzed the needs of officetel residents, by reviewing researches and by examining internet homepages and catalogs of 20 officetels sold since 2000. Case study analysis method is used as a qualitative analysis. The major findings of this study are as follows; 1) In dwelling unit space, it lacks the independence of working space and the privacy of living space. Therefore, the provision of various unit plans, such as 2-bay plan, unit with mezzanine floor or movable walls, layout of kitchen and dining area in window side, is proposed. 2) In communal space, it lacks the consideration of natural environments and the systematic maintenance. Therefore, the introduction of communal workshop and conference rooms and of various types of garden space, is proposed.

  • We present our experiences with open-source spatio-temporal database systems for managing and analyzing big astronomical data acquired by wide-field time-domain sky surveys. Considering performance, cost, difficulty, and scalability of the database systems, we conduct comparison studies of open-source spatio-temporal databases such as GeoMesa and PostGIS that are already being used for handling big geographical data. Our experiments include ingesting, indexing, and querying millions or billions of astronomical spatio-temporal data. We choose the public VVV (VISTA Variables in the Via Lactea) catalogs of billions measurements for hundreds of millions objects as the test data. We discuss issues of how these spatio-temporal database systems can be adopted in the astronomy community.

  • The power spectrum of the galaxy distribution is accurately measured up to wavelengths over $100\;h^{-1}$ Mpc from the CfA 1 and 2 catalogs. We find that our results agree with power spectra calculated by others from smaller samples of optical, radio and infrared galaxies. The power spectrum of an open CDM model (${\Omega}h$ = 0.2 and ${\delta}_8$ = 1; see below for definitions) best approximates the observed power spectrum. The power spectrum of the standard COM model (${\Omega}h$ = 0.5 and ${\delta}_8$ = 1) is inconsistent with the observed one at the 99% confidence level. Our best estimation of the corresponding correlation function in real space is ${\xi}(r)\;=\;(r/6.2h^{-1}Mpc)^{-1.8}$ for r < $20h^{-1}$ Mpc.

  • We present a survey for finding hidden star clusters using the WISE data. There are more than two thousand star clusters in the current catalogs of star clusters in the Milky Way Galaxy. However, there are still numerous star clusters remaining to be discovered, especially, along the Milky Way. The WISE, NIR to MIR all sky survey, is an efficient source to find star clusters obscured by dust along the Milky Way. Taking the advantage of the power of WISE, we survey a wide area at ${\mid}l{\mid}<30^{\circ}$ and ${\mid}b{\mid}<6^{\circ}$, toward to the central region of the Milky Way to find new star clusters. To find cluster candidates, we used two kinds of method: the visual inspection and the brightness density investigation. We will report the progress of this survey.

  • We present our experiences with open-source NoSQL database systems in analyzing spatial and temporal astronomical data. We conduct experiments of using Redis in-memory NoSQL database system by modifying and exploiting its support of geohash for astronmical spatial data. Our experiment focuses on performance, cost, difficulty, and scalability of the database system. We also test OpenTSDB as a possible NoSQL database system to process astronomical time-series data. Our experiments include ingesting, indexing, and querying millions or billions of astronomical time-series measurements. We choose our KMTNet data and the public VVV (VISTA Variables in the Via Lactea) catalogs as test data. We discuss issues in using these NoSQL database systems in astronomy.

  • With large-volume surveys becoming the norm, it is increasingly important to accurately model the galaxy-halo connection and being able to create mock universes of galaxies - starting from dark matter halo catalogs - that reproduce with high-fidelity all the characteristics of a given experiment. This step is necessary, in order to safely interpret cosmological data and fully control systematic effects. We are developing a new Python-based tool which integrates several existing packages and allows one to reproduce many of the forms used to describe galaxy-halo models, ranging from halo occupation distribution (HOD) to abundance matching techniques, along with the characteristics of a given survey and the main testable observables. We are making the code parallel for high-performance parallel-architectures.

  • With the rapid growth of the B2B electronic commerce, digital catalogs for expressing product information effectively and exchanging it easily between companies become increasingly important. In this paper, we refer a product expression model to effectively integrate product information, and implement the model using XDK(XML Development Kit), which is given by Oracle 8i. We will first derive an XML DTD reflecting the model. We will then develop a system that stores and retrieves product information on/from Oracle 8i databases, which is written in XML, complying the XML DTD structure. Finally, We will give an experiment on the system.
