The main mineral phases of natural hydraulic lime (NHL) as a hydraulic lime binderare $Ca(OH)_2$, $C_2S$, $C_3S$, $C_3A$, and $SiO_2$ residues. Also, NHL has the characteristic of setting and hardening by a hydration reaction with water and by carbonation reactions with carbon dioxide from the air. In this study, in an effort to investigate changes of the mineral phases by NHL hydration and carbonation reactions, transitions of mineral phases and the microstructures of hardened pastes were analyzed by XRD, DSC, SEM, and by pore size distributions using domestic and foreign-sourced NHL pastes after curing at 1, 3, 7, and 28 days. On the basis of the analysis results, it was confirmed that domestic low-grade limestone can be used for the manufacturing of NHL. The main hydration mineral phases were $Ca(OH)_2$, $CaCO_3$, $C_2S$, and $SiO_2$ residues, while in the case of foreign-sourced NHL, a small amount of an aluminium hydration phase formed. Also, the $CaCO_3$ content after the carbonation reaction increased with an increase in the curing time. After hydration for 28 days, NHL containing considerable amounts of $C_2S$ and $C_3S$ showed higher carbonation ratios than others types.
Since the linear elastic fracture analysis has been proved to be insufficient in predicting the failure of strain hardening materials, a number of fracture concepts have been studied which remain applicable in the presence of plasticity near a crack tip. This work thereby presents a new finite element model to predict the elastic-plastic crack-tip field and fatigue life of center-cracked panels(CCP) with ductile fracture under large-scale yielding conditions. Also, this study has been carried out to investigate the path-dependence of J-integral within the plastic zone for elastic-perfectly plastic, bilinear elastic-plastic, and nonlinear elastic-plastic materials. Based on the incremental theory of plasticity, the p-version finite element is employed to account for the accurate values of J-integral, the most dominant fracture parameter, and the shape of plastic zone near a crack tip by using the J-integral method. To predict the fatigue life, the conventional Paris law has been modified by substituting the range of J-value denoted by ${\Delta}J$ for ${\Delta}K$. The experimental fatigue test is conducted with five CCP specimens to validate the accuracy of the proposed model. It is noted that the relationship between the crack length a and ${\Delta}K$ in LEFM analysis shows a strong linearity, on the other hand, the nonlinear relationship between a and ${\Delta}J$ is detected in EPFM analysis. Therefore, this trend will be depended especially in the case of large scale yielding. The numerical results by the proposed model are compared with the theoretical solutions in literatures, experimental results, and the numerical solutions by the conventional h-version of the finite element method.

Inconel 718 alloy has excellent mechanical properties at room temperature, high temperature and cryogenic conditions. UTS of base metal is about 900MPa at room temperature; this is increased up to 1300MPa after heat treatment & aging-hardening. Mechanical properties of Inconel 718 Alloy were similar to those shown in the the results for tensile test; mechanical properties of Inconel 718 alloy's GTAW were similar to those of base metal's properties at room temperature. Mechanical properties at cryogenic conditions were better than those at room temperature. Heat-treated Inconel 718, non- filler metal GTAW on Inconel 718 and GTAW used filler metal on Inconel 718's UTS was 1400MPa at cryogenic condition. As a result, the excellent mechanical properties of Inconel 718 alloy under cryogenic conditions was proved through tensile tests under cryogenic conditions. In addition, weldability of Inconel 718 alloy under cryogenic conditions was superior to that of its base-metal. In this case, UTS of hybrid joint (IS-G) at -100$^{\circ}C$ was 900MPa. Consequently, UTS of Inconel 718 alloy is estimated to increase from -100$^{\circ}C$ to a specific temperature below -100$^{\circ}C$. Therefore, Inconel 718 alloy is considered a pertinent material for the production of Lox Pipe under cryogenic conditions.
Many pressure vessels for the hot H$\sub$2//H$\sub$2/S service are made of 2+1/4Cr-1Mo steel with austenitic stainless steel overlay to combat agressive corrosion due to hydrogen sulfide. Hydrogen dissolves in to materials during operation, and sometimes gives rise to unfore-seeable damages. Appropriate precautions must, therefore, be taken to avoid the hydrogen induced damages in the design, fabrication and operation stage of such reactor vessels. Recently, hydrogeninduced cracking (or Disbonding) was found at the interface between base metal and stainless weld overlay of a desulfurizing reactor. Since the stainless steel overlay weld metal is subjected to thermal and internal-pressure loads in reactor operation, it is desirable for the overlay weld metal to have high strength and ductility from the stand point of structural safety. In section III of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Post-Weld Heat Treatment(PWHT) of more than one hour per inch at over 1100.deg. F(593.deg. C) is required for the weld joints of low alloy pressure vessel steels. This heat treatment to relieve stresses in the welded joint during construction of the pressure vessel is considered to cause sensitization of the overlay weld metal. The present study was carried out to make clear the diffusion of carbon migration by PWHT in dissimilar metal welded joint. The main conclusion reached from this study are as follows: 1) The theoretical analysis for diffusion of carbon in stainless steel overlay weld metal does not agree with Fick's 2nd law but the general law of molecular diffusion phenomenon by thermodynamic chemical potential. 2) In the stainless steel overlay welded joint, the PWHT at 720.deg. C for 10 hours causes a diffusion of carbon atoms from ferritic steel into austenitic steel according to the theoretical analysis for carbon migration and its experiment. 3) In case of PWHT at 720.deg. C for 10 hours, the micro-hardness of stainless steel weld metal in bonded zone increase very highly in the carburized layer with remarkable hardening than that of weld metal.

Nitriding layers developed during gaseous nitriding of AISI4115 steels for the application of steel bushing part were investigated. The compound layer thickness of about 10㎛, 0.3mm of case depth under the same conditions, and conventional nitriding, nitrocarburizing, and controlled nitriding were performed in three methods. In the controlled nitriding, KN was controlled by measuring the hydrogen partial pressure. The nitrided samples were analyzed by micro Vickers hardness test, optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The phases of compound layer were identified by X-ray diffraction and electron backscatter diffraction. The controlled nitriding specimen indicated the highest surface hardness of about 860 HV0.1. The compound layer of the conventional nitriding and nitrocarburizing specimen was formed with about 46% porous layer and 𝜺 + 𝜸' phase, and about 13% porous layer and about 80% 𝜸' phase were formed on the controlled nitriding specimen. As a result of the Ball-on-disk wear test, the worn mass loss of ball performed on the surface of the controlled nitriding specimen was the largest. The controlled nitriding specimen had the highest surface hardness due to the lowest porous percentage of compound layer, which improved the wear resistance.

This study evaluate the fluidity and hardening properties of mortar by replacement ratio of ferronickel slag powder to estimate the applicability of ferronickel slag powder for cement replacement materials. Ferronickel slag powder was replaced by 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20% of the cement weight. In addition, blast furnace slag powder and fly ash were also used for comparing with the mixtures using ferronickel slag powder. As the test results, the micro-hydration heat of the mixture containing the ferronickel slag powder was lower than that of the mixtures containing the same amount of blast furnace slag powder and fly ash. The flow of the sample with ferronickel slag powder was relatively higher than the other mixtures. In all ages, the compressive strength of the mixture with ferronickel slag powder and fly ash was similar to that of the mix containing only fly ash. In case of drying shrinkage, the mixture containing ferronickel slag powder exhibited lower drying shrinkage than the mixture using blast furnace slag powder, and similar to the mixture containing fly ash.

Chronic silica nephropathy has been associated with tubulointerstitial disease, immune-mediated multisystem disease, chronic kidney disease, and end-stage renal disease. On the other hand, acute intentional exposure is extremely rare. The authors' experienced a 44-year-old man who took rapid cement hardener (sodium silicate) in a suicide attempt whilst in a drunken state. He visited the emergency department approximately 1 hour after ingestion. Information on the material was obtained after 3 L gastric lavage. The patient complained of a sore throat, epigastric pain, and swollen to blood tinged vomitus. Proton pump inhibitors, hemostats, steroid, and fluids were administered. Nine hours after ingestion, he was administered 200 mL hematochezia. Immediately after, a gas-troenterologist performed an endoscopic procedure that revealed diffuse hyperemic mucosa with a color change and variable sized ulceration in the esophagus, whole stomach, and duodenal $2^{nd}$ portion. Approximately 35 hours later, persistent oligouria and progressive worsening of the renal function parameters (BUN/Cr from 12.2/1.2 to 67.5/6.6 mg/dL) occurred requiring hemodialysis. The patient underwent 8 sessions of hemodialysis for 1 month and the BUN/Cr level increased to 143.2/11.2 mg/dL and decreased to 7.6/1.5 mg/dL. He was discharged safely from the hospital. Follow up endoscopy revealed a severe esophageal stricture and he underwent endoscopic bougie dilatation. Acute cement hardener (sodium silicate) intoxication can cause renal failure and strong caustic mucosal injury. Therefore, it is important to consider early hemodialysis and treatment to prevent gastrointestinal injury and remote esophageal stricture.

In this study, engineering characteristics such as flowability, segregation and compressive strength by age to derive fast hardening material mixing proportion using excavated soil. And based on optimal mixing proportion, field simulation experiment conducted in laboratory to examine the effectiveness of the method such as kelly ball drop test and soil penetration test for reviewing the following process. As as a result of evaluation, in case of kelly ball drop test and soil penetration test were securing the following process initiation time 3 hours after place CLSM. As results of these assessments, kelly ball drop test and soil penetration test were applicable for revewing following process in construction field besides unconfined compressive strength method.
The purpose of this study was to test and analyze the effects of the mechanical properties and structural changes of the austenitized and tempered martensite STS 410 stainless steel containing 11.5~13%Cr and 0.10%C on its temper embrittlement. The STS 410 stainless steel test pieces for each 3 hours at 960℃, 1000℃ and then, tempered them for 2 hours at 300℃, 350℃, 400℃, 450℃, 500℃, 550℃, 600℃, 650℃ and 700℃ known as the intervals vulnerable to temper embrittlement to observe the changes of their structures and mechanical properties. In case autenitizing was insufficient due to lower temperature of thermal treatment for solution, unsolved carbides and ferrites remained in the structure after quenching, which meant that the parts could wear out and corrode to embrittle at the room temperature. Elongation and impact energy changes with Tempering conditions showed minimum results in range of 400~500℃. The decrease in elongation and impact energy at 400~500℃ was the hardening effect of the subgrain due to the precipitation of many M3C or M7C3, M23C6. And STS 410 stainless steel corrosion tested in 10% NaCl solution at 30℃ after tempering treatment. The degree of corrosion sensitization showed increasing tendency with increase of tempering temperature and Cr carbide precipitation were observed in grain boundary.
In wind-resistant designs, wind velocity is assumed to be a Gaussian process; however, local complex topography may result in strong non-Gaussian wind features. This study investigates the non-Gaussian wind features over complex terrain under atmospheric turbulent boundary layers by the large eddy simulation (LES) model, and the turbulent inlet of LES is generated by the consistent discretizing random flow generation (CDRFG) method. The performance of LES is validated by two different complex terrains in Changsha and Mianyang, China, and the results are compared with wind tunnel tests and onsite measurements, respectively. Furthermore, the non-Gaussian parameters, such as skewness, kurtosis, probability curves, and gust factors, are analyzed in-depth. The results show that the LES method is in good agreement with both mean and turbulent wind fields from wind tunnel tests and onsite measurements. Wind fields in complex terrain mostly exhibit a left-skewed Gaussian process, and it changes from a softening Gaussian process to a hardening Gaussian process as the height increases. A reduction in the gust factors of about 2.0%-15.0% can be found by taking into account the non-Gaussian features, except for a 4.4% increase near the ground in steep terrain. This study can provide a reference for the assessment of extreme wind loads on structures in complex terrain.
