  • This study was carried out to suggest the plans for installation of rural sewage treatment facilities through the analysis of these facilities installed in Chungchongnam-do Province. About 5% of all installation was carried out by the department of wastewater and related environment problems and the other case was carried out by the department of construction or residence. In wastewater caused by 250 and 300 persons, facilities capacity do not exceed about $50m^3/d$, caused by 2,500 and 3,000 persons, $500m^3/d$. Advanced sewage treatment process were first needed in the discharge area where affected the water environment greatly. However, in carrying out the water quality pollutant of the total amount management system in the other areas, they should be driven only over the scale of pollutant quota object facilities standard. Rural sewage must be included in the special accounts according to the regulations of local government, and sewage treatment cost should be collected to manage. Installation type uses integrating joint treatment method in case the distance among villages is short or one treatment facility independently.

  • Power demand has continuously increased with technological and economical development. The load density is also growing in the center of downtown area. In particular, underground facilities have been increased on the purpose of the prevention of urban disasters and pedestrian environment improvement. Based on this situation, the underground space in urban surroundings has gradually decreased because of the limited space. The ampacity of buried cables is affected by various factors such as cable size, soil thermal resistance, burial depth and filling material. The thermal capacity of the facilities is determined by the absorb heat surrounding the cable and the soil. The maximum operating temperature of cable is the highest temperature when the insulator of cable is not damaged in the case of high enough temperature. In this paper, the most effective cabling configuration is suggested using the duct array adjustment. It was also considered to increase the number of cable line. This underground distribution system was simulated by using ETAP(Electrical Transient Analysis Program).

  • The XX company that is handling the class IV hazardous materials, located in Bu-Chon City and the LPG station in front of the XX company which is about 20 meters apart, was chosen as the standard model for this study In carrying out the consequence analysis, PHAST and Super-Chems were used for the study and utilizing the output of the simulation, we have evaluated the consequences throughout the probit analysis and explosion overpressure analysis. In case of Acetone, the effect distance of the damage on facilities-that is the result of radiation heat flux of $37.5kW/m^2$ by TNO model-is 68.51m by PHAST model and 40.93m by Super-Chem model. The risk assessment of the LPG station which is based on the explosion resulted as the analysis of the fire ball showed the diameter 125.2m, the height 206.2m and the duration 11.28sec and the effect distance for the radiant heat flux $37.5kW/m^2$ was 137.0m.

  • This study is an analysis of the design changes of children's play facilities and the related rules and regulations which causes these changes. Accordingly, it is noticed that a site's change of design by legislation and by yearly alternation influences playground design. First, after revising the provisions for the distance from roads and parking lots, the constructing of safety fences between play facilities and the using of durable materials, alterations of the designs have been made a reality. Second, the design changes after the period of regulation transitions were caused by provisions related to the shelter of evergreens and conditions of the sun. Third, the changes of the playgrounds were related to the substitution of exercise facilities for the local residents and in carrying out a hygiene exam more than twice a year. Because a lack of regulatory standards for the design of playgrounds resulted in compliance based on individual interpretation and because a substitution of exercise facilities is part of the way to alleviate these regulations, the conditions of the site under investigation could be projeced. By such changes of regulations and analysis of alterations of playground design, programs for improvement were suggested. It turned out that the composition of the concrete standard in conformity with regulations required closer observance. Moreover, design standards for children's playgrounds are needed, such as the provision of variation in external appearance, the creation of more flexible layouts and the outlining of spaces by themes.

  • This study was excuted to measure the user's impact area of the Bukhan Mountain National Park. Eighteen sites of the campsite and the picnic area were sample to measure the impact rating of soil and vegetation. And three belt transects were sampled to analyze soil properties and vegetational change by the user's impact. Also user's psychology was investigated through questionnaires with the visitor and 726 answers were collected from May to June in 1987. The regression equation was significant between the distance and the soil hardness. individual number per 100$m^2$, herb coverage and similarity index from the center of picnic area to the non-use site. The tolerant tree against user's impact are Lespedza maximowiczii. Stephanandra insica, Actinidia arguta Symplocos chinensis for. pilosa and the sensitive trees were Fraxinus rhy chophylla Sorbus alnifolia. and Rhodadendron mucronulatun. The facilities factor and social factor are the most affecting factors to User's psychology by the varimax rotated factor analysis. The carrying capacity of the picnic area was 25$m^2$ per man by the degree of psychological satisfaction.

  • The study was carried out to devise a proper measure to increase the income of mountain villagers by producing sap water of Acer mono, and to make the most of sap water as local specialty to contribute to the local economy of mountain villages. All the processes from collecting to marketing of sap water of Acer mono was investigated. The survey was done from mid-January to mid-February in the 3 major sap water collecting regions, Toji-myon Kurey-gun(Piagol area of Mt. Chiri), Okryong-myon Kwangyang city(Mt. Baekun), and Jookhack-ri Sunchon(Mt. Chokey). A total of 90 householders who collect sap water, to say again, 30 householders in each region, were interviewed personally to make up questionnaires. The habitual or general practices about collecting sap water, the selling price, the sales process, labor power to collect and carry down, carrying distance and facilities, sales income and side income, and family income were investigated and examined. Spots of collecting sap water were not concentrated but scattered all over the collecting area. Collecting method, collecting amount, sales process, and selling price varied with the village and region. Sap water was collected by tapping or boring method, the latter of which was widely used in lots of regions except in Sunchon. Although the amount of sap production per family varied with region, the average amount was about 1,350 liters. Of all the sap water collected, 44% was consumed by drinking of on-the-spot visitors and 36% was sold by order, etc. Sap water was sold at the price varying from 10,000 won to 60,000 won per 18 liters. The average selling price was 41,000 won, but selling prices of 43,000 won and 45,000 wan amounted to 38% and 25%, respectively.
