Dyeing properties such as migration of disperse dye and color fastness of 4 types of the carrier[Carrier-I(methyl napthalene). Carrier-II(chloro benzene). Carrier-III(aromatic ether) and Carrier-IV(o-phenyl phenol)] were evaluated for the study. For the results, the optimum dyeing time and concentration of the carrier was 30min at $110^{\circ}C$ and 2g/l, respectively. The redyeing ratio of the fabric samples treated with Carrier-II and III was higher than that treated with Carrier-I and IV, thus, if was conclude that the redyeing ratio of the samples treated with Carrier-II and III was excellent. The light fastness of the samples treated with Carrier-III and IV was higher than that of Carrier-I and II in order of 2-4 grades. However, there were little changes in terms of washing and sublimation and rubbing fastness for the samples.
In this study, the effect of microwave which can increase temperature rapidly on polyester alkaline dyeing was investigated. The final K/S values of polyester fabrics dyed by microwave lower than those of atmospheric dyeing because of the evaporation loss of dyeing solution. If the dyeing time makes longer as much as that in atmospheric dyeing, the K/S values of polyester fabrics dyed under microwave were similar to those of atmospheric dyeing. The K/S values of polyester fabrics dyed in pH 9.5 were higher than those in pH 5.5 in case of aliphatic carriers. The K/S values of organic reagent pretreated polyester fabrics dyed by use of aromatic carriers were not higher than those of non-treated polyester fabrics. But the K/S values of polyester fabrics dyed by use of aliphatic carriers were higher than those of non-treated polyester fabrics. The tensile strength were decreased with increasing of dyebath pH because the polyester fabrics were easily decomposed by high alkali.
Dyeing behavior of Silk/Cationic dyeable polyester(CDP) mixed filament was investigated by using a cationic dye. The effect of pH, temperature and additives such as carrier, levelling agent and salt were examined for each silk and CDP component of mixed filament in order to find out the optimum dyeing condition. Based on these results, the dyeing behavior was investigated for Silk/CDP mixed filaments concering various dyeing parameters. The dye adsorption was significantly changed on the dyeing temperature, carrier addition and pH of the dyebath. Specially, the dye migration phynomena were observed for a mixed filament, showing that the dyes initially observed on the surface of silk fiber migrate to the CDP component during a dyeing process. The dyeing of Silk/CDP mixed filaments accompanied by dye migration and as a result, dye adsorption can be developed only for a CDP component. Therefore, the control of dyeing temperature is most important for a Silk/CDP mixed filament, in order that both silk and CDP component are able to be dyed by a cationic dye simultaneously in one bath/one dye system.
The textile fabric contains the functions of sanitation, decoration, wearing style and washing in the practical use. Among various tetile fiber, silk has less utilities than synthetic fiber in practical use although silk has good benefits of the high quality of silk fabric. Thus no textile fiber, neither natural norsynthetic, has all the functions. In this sense, many compound fabrics have been improved to reveal various functions of fabric However, this has been disturbed with the problem of dyeing, expecially in the case of compound fabric of silk. The work is carried out to improve the dyeing method of compound fabric of polyester and silk. The results obtained are as follows: 1. In the dyeing of compound fabric(P/S fabric), azo dyes was more suitable than anthraquinone dyes. 2. According to the carrier, dyeing spot was appeared by the high concentration in bath. 3. Degree of dye fixation was decreased in dyeing of methylnaptharine carrier(D.N) and anion disperser(T.S). 4. The affinity of dye was suitable in the dyeing bath of azo dye, trichlorobenzene carrier and nonion disperser. 5. Dye fixation of silk side in compound fabric by acid dye showed higher in acid bath of dyeing. 6. In printing of silk and polyester compound fabric, it must be understood relationship among fibers, dyes, and steaming conditions.
The diffusion coefficient of C.I. Disperse Red 4 in the dyeing of carrier-pretreated poly (ethylene terephthalate) film was Investigated by Sekido's film-rolled method. From the result it was shown that the diffusion coefficient increases exponentially with the content-ration of carrier in the film, and, for the films containing same concentration of carrier, the carrier effect was enhanced with the molar volume of the carriers. The greater carrier effect was accompanied by the decrease in diffusion activation energy and entropy, which shows that the carrier with larger molar volume plasticizes PET film to more extent.
The optimum carrier concentrations were obtained by the maxmium exhaustion ratios of polyester fabrics at 8$0^{\circ}C$ . The optimum concentrations of methylsalicylate, acetophenone, anisole, propiophenone, 2-ethyl hexyl alcohol, ethylene glycol and propylene glycol were $3g/\ell,\;12g/\ell,\;7g/\ell,\;5g/\ell,\;3g/\ell,\;35g/\ell,\;and\;40g/\ell$, respectively Azo, anthraquinone, and quinoline disperse dyes were quite stable up to PH 10.3, but nitro disperse dye were severely hydrolyzed in alkaline dyeing. The tensile strength decreased with increasing dyebath pH because the polyester fabrics were easily decomposed by alkali. The reduction cleaning could be canceled in alkaline dyeing because the carriers were solved by alkali during dyeing.
The optimum carrier concentrations were obtained by the maxmium exhaustion ratios of polyester fabrics at 80℃. The optimum concentrations of methylsalicylate, acetophenone, anisole, propiophenone, 2-ethyl hexyl alcohol, ethylene glycol and propylene glycol were 3g/ℓ, 12g/ℓ, 7g/ℓ, 5g/ℓ, 3g/ℓ, 35g/ℓ, and 40g/ℓ, respectively. Azo, anthraquinone, and quinoline disperse dyes were quite stable up to pH 10.3, but nitro disperse dye were severely hydrolyzed in alkaline dyeing. The tensile strength decreased with increasing dyebath pH because the polyester fabrics were easily decomposed by alkali. The reduction cleaning could be canceled in alkaline dyeing because the carriers were solved by alkali during dyeing.

In one bath dyeing system of silk/PET fiber blend fabric with acid/disperse dyes, adsorption behavior of disperse dyes and acid dyes on silk and PET fabrics were examined. In the dyeing of PET with C.I.Disperse Red 19(Red 19) and C.I.Disperse Red 60(Red 60) at 10$0^{\circ}C$(carrier dyeing) and 13$0^{\circ}C$, dye uptake with Red 60 was higher than that with Red 19. When the silk/PET dyed with Red 19 and Red 60 at 10$0^{\circ}C$(carrier dyeing) and 13$0^{\circ}C$, dye uptake on PET was influenced by affinity of the dye to the silk fabric dyed together. When the silk/PET dyed with Blue 80/Red 19 and Blue 80/Red 60 at 10$0^{\circ}C$(carrier dyeing) and 13$0^{\circ}C$ for 60 minutes, color of PET dyed with Red 19 and Red 60 was little influenced by Blue 80 but silk dyed with Blue 80 was influenced. Interrelation of K/S value and Munsell value was scarcely any but showed the change tendency of K/S value.
In this study, the dyeability of m-aramid fabric with various cationic dyes using two bath two step dyeing method were investigated. The exhaustion properties of Doracryl series recommend for aramid(Doracryl® Red GL 100%(DR), Doracryl® Blue GL 300%(DB), Doracryl® Yellow XGRL 200%(DY)) and commercial cationic Synocryl series(Synocryl® Red GRL ED(SR), Synocryl® Blue GSL ED(SB), Synocryl® Yellow 3RL ED(SY)) for acrylic were measured by using Dye-O-meter. In the presence of carrier, the exhaustions of Doracryl series were higher to those of Synocryl series and the opposite phenomenon was observed in the absence of carrier. And the severe migrations of cationic dyes to acetate, nylon and wool fabrics were observed without carrier.
To acquire dyeing ability on aramid(Nomex) spun yarn in supercritical fluid dyeing, supercritical fluid dying(SFD) machine of 3L scale was designed. C. I. Disperse Red 60 and Red 360 were used in this work. It was possible to increase dyeing ability and to get level dyeing of fiber by attaching assistance devices(controlling device of supercritical fluid, nozzle, cover of carrier, etc.) to SFD machine. Physical properties(tensile strength, elongation, shrinkage) of Nomex spun yam treated by SFD were not changed. K/S values of dyed Nomex spun yam with Red 360 were higher than that with Red 60 and color fastness of dyed Nomex spun yam by SFD was similar to that by conventional dyeing method.
