However, the desired effective results were not fully obtained by many reasons such as the shortage of qualified workers, lack of eligible women's cooperation and understanding of the importance of family planning etc., The field family planning workers is classified into two categories along the governmental personnel order; the senior field worker and the assistant field worker. The former is qualified licensed nurse and the latter same as the former of a certified nurses-aid. These family planning worker's roles are somewhat in change not only in field education, distribution of contraceptions, administrating mother's class of assistant field workers but also responsible for the senior field workers such as recording, reporting and keeping statistics. Therefor, the desired success of family planning programming in Korea depends on family planning worker's professional abilities and activities in the field. In aiming to study on professional knowledge of the above two kinds of family planning workers, the following results were obtained through a field survey with question airs done as of October, 1970 in Kyonggi-Do. 1. Working term of the family planning workers in average were less than two years. The younger the assistant Field workers were, the earlier they left job. 2. The assistant field workers selected their job in order to the superficial rather than implementing job itself. 3. Most of the workers either in the health center or in the Up-Myun had a better understanding concerning with their job ; contraceptive methods, maintenance of equipment and drug keeping, and other administrative procedures, etc., 4. They had relatively better understanding and sufficient knowledge about contraception itself and application of it's methods and side effects in detail too, but less knowledges for the care after. 5. It was hard to Find out any differences in administrative knowledge and demographic understanding. 5. It is fully agreed upon that the longer the worker have experienced with the program, the more skilful she applied. 7. • This paper investigates the effects of changes in household structure on service demand. The structure of households in Korea has been quickly changed due to low birth rate and population aging as well as increasing women's participation in the workforce. Their consumption patterns may have been altered by the structural changes. This paper focuses on the additional demand for market services replacing household activities such as household chores and care services. First, using a 3-sector time allocation model, we theoretically analyze the mechanism that marketization of household production can lead to the expansion of service industries. Next, in order to analyze the effects of changes in household structure on consumption demand, we estimate the Engel curves according to the QUAIDS model. For empirical work, the Survey of Household Finances was used. According to the results, structural changes in Korean households, such as an increase in single-person households, a decrease in families with a spouse or children under 6 years old, and an increase in dual-earner households, have caused an increase in medical expenses, education and training costs, and expenses for household services, which are typically substitutes for household production services.

  • Dramatic changes are beginning to occur in plastic card technologies today in the fields of banking, health care, id-cards and more. Advanced card technologies such as IC-card are playing an increasingly important role in new and innovation system. The merit of IC-card are more capacity, more secure, more reliable, quick and easy to update, secure offline processing, enabling technology etc than magnetic stripe card. And so many countries began using experiment of IC- card and our country began October 13 in Cheju island. Then there are three types using-experiment (K-cash, VISA-cash, MONDEX) in Korea. There are some problems such as standards, widely using, high cost, double investment etc. I think that important things in IC-card using is an international- standardizations and issuing corporation.

  • The study examined work and family life of married women employed in a manufacturing industry. Data were gathered from the use of face-to-face interview method from a sample of 230 married working women. The major findings of this study can be summarized as follows: (1) Most of the respondents found the work repetitive and unappealing, with the double burden of a paid work and housework. Thus, it is necessary for the government to implement social policies for married working women, such as establishment of various child care centers, part-time jobs, and dissemination of egalitarian sex-role attitudes. (2) More than half of the respondents were born in rural areas and immigrated to the urban sectors, forming a nuclear family structure. Most of these women were married with love, but some of them could not have a marriage ceremony because of the economic reasons. Thus, it may be necessary to increase the service centers to offer a free marital ceremony. (3) About 30% of the respondents answered they left their preschool aged children unattended, after dismissing from a kindergarden on a private institution. It was shown that working women, even though they were in charge of child-rearing, did not have an effective mechanism to control or protect their children while they were away from home. Most of them frequently used material compensations from their children in order to make up their absence at home. (4) It was found that the strategy for working women to decrease a dual-role conflict is to make a hierachy on the work they to do and to do only basic housework for everyday life and to do the rest of work on a off-day.
