Fuel cells are low-carbon power sources that can expand distributed energy system and electric vehicle charging infrastructure when installing fuel cells in gas stations. In order to ensure safety for fuel cells in gas stations, quantitative risk assessments were conducted after deriving accident scenarios based on accident data of domestic and foreign gas stations and fuel cells. It calculates the expected extent of damage from fire and explosion that can occur in reality, not the worst accident scenario, and analyzes the damage impact. The separation distance of more than 9.0 m from a dispenser, 15.5 m from a car under refueling, 4.1 m from the ventilation pipe, 1.1 m from the gas adjustment device prevent the severe damage caused by the expected accident. This study result can be used to deploy fuel cells in gas stations and establish safety measures.
This research wished to risk type and examine closely driver special quality and relation of traffic accidents by occurrence type of traffic accidents and traffic accidents seriousness examine closely relation with Severity. Fractionate traffic accidents type by eight, and driver's special quality for risk group's classification did to distinction of sex, vehicle type, age etc. analyzed relation with injury degree adding belt used putting on availability for security the objectivity with wave. Used log-Linear model and Logit model for analysis of category data. A head-on collision and overtaking accident, right-turn accident are high injury or death accident and possibility to associate in relation with accident type and seriousness degree. In risk group analysis The age less than 20 years in motor-cycle driver, taxi driver in 41 years to 50 years old are very dangerous. The woman also was construed to the more risk group than man from when related to car, mini-bus, goods vehicle etc. Therefore, traffic safety education and Enforcement for risk group that way that can reduce accident that produce to reduce a loss of lives at traffic accidents appearance a head-on collision and overtaking accidents, right-turn accidents should be studied and as traffic accidents weakness class may have to be solidified.

This study analyzed the association between the type of transport accident and the associated mortality of elderly inpatients. The findings will contribute to the development and establishment of a systematic and effective policy according to the type of transport accident to reduce the mortality of inpatients. The data on elderly inpatients with transport accidents was extracted from the 2013-2017 Korean National Hospital Discharge In-depth Survey dataset. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics analysis, chi-square tests and multiple logistic regression analysis. After adjustment for sociodemographic, disease, injury and policy factors, the elderly inpatient deaths due to transport accidents were significantly higher for pedestrian accidents (OR: 2.522 95%, CI: 1.291-4.972), bicycle/cart accidents (OR: 2.809, 95% CI: 1.328-5.942) and motorcycle accidents (OR: 2.330, 95% CI: 1.226-4.819) rather than that for car accidents. Likewise, elderly inpatients have a higher risk of death from other types of transport accidents than those caused by car accidents. However, Korean policies related to transport accidents of elderly inpatients are concentrated on car accidents. Effective policy is needed according to the characteristics of each type of transport accident to reduce the transport accident mortality of elderly inpatients.
The purpose of this study is to analyze four cases of firefighter burns in various fire scenes and to find prevention measures to decrease firefighter injuries. Among the analysis reports prepared by the National Fire Research Institute of Korea from 2016 to 2020, four burn-related accidents are summarized and the main causes are conveyed. The four accidents include second-degree burns from using extinguishers during containment of fires; nine firefighters burned due to re-ignition in the LPG car repair shop; two firefighters injured with third-degree burns from using fire extinguishers during life-saving events in residential housing; and injuries from the radiant heat of the tank BLEVE near the factory fire. These cases are comprehensively investigated in their respective scenes and analyzed based on the fire site investigation reports from the fire department and related theoretical explanations of risk for each accident scene. In the third case study, some experimental research is conducted to evaluate the risk involved with the use of safety gloves. This is evaluated by reviewing Fire Tactics and Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) to determine improvements and recommendations for an efficient firefighting response. Results show that the main causes of burn accidents are the insufficient use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety gloves, and the failure to follow firefighting tactics or SOPs. Through the accident investigation and assessment, it is concluded that to reduce the frequency of burn accidents, the performance of firefighting equipment, SOPs, protection tactics, and safety policy systems require improvement.

In the steel industry, steel is manufactured and processed to produce a variety of steel products. The industry provides fundamental materials to the whole range of industries including car, ship, electric appliance and construction industries, so that it is very important as an infrastructure industry. The steel manufacture process involves aerial work, many danger factors caused by the treatment with hazardous gases including BFG and COG and by high pressure gases including H2, O2, N2 and LPG. It requires the management over the large area because many workers work in a plant. The potential dangers in the steel plant were identified and the effect of the danger assessment was verified through the analysis of the danger assessment for the steel plant. The allowed degree of danger was lowered after the improvement through the danger assessment in the plant where the case studies were conducted, which indicates that the danger assessment is highly effective.
Road facilities such as CCTV poles have potential risk of collision accidents with a car. A collision detection algorithm installed in the facility allows the collision accident to be known remotely. Most collision detection algorithms are operated by simply focusing on whether a collision have occurred, because these methods are used to measure only acceleration data from a 3-axis sensor to detect collision. However, it is difficult to detect other detailed information such as malfunction of the sensor, collision direction and collision strength, because it is not known without witness the accident. Therefore, we proposed enhanced detection algorithm to get the collision direction, and the collision strength from the tilt of the facility after accident using a 9-axis sensor in this paper. In order to confirm the performance of the algorithm, an accuracy evaluation experiment was conducted according to the data measurement cycle and the invocation cycle to an detection algorithm. As a result, the proposed enhanced algorithm confirmed 100% accuracy for 50 weak collisions and 50 strong collisions at the 9-axis data measurement cycle of 10ms and the invocation cycle of 1,000ms. In conclusion, the algorithm proposed is expected to provide more reliable and detailed information than existing algorithm.
The object of this study is to develop a tool for quantifying risks related to the rail transportation of hazardous commodities and to present mitigation measures. In this study, the Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) is used as a risk analysis tool. Based on the previous explosion history (Iri explosion) and consideration of its high risk, Iksan-si is selected as a model city. The result, expressed as average individual risk for exposed people with various distance, indicates that the model city is considered to be safe according to the nuclear energy standard. Also, the mitigation measures are provided since Societal risk of Iksan-si is set within ALARP. Risk reduction measures include rail car design, rail transportation operation, demage spread control as well as derail prevention and alternative routes for reducing accident frequencies. Finally, it is expected to achieve high level of public safety by appling the risk reduction measures.

To minimze the degree of damage for the SMART highway's punctuality and safety after car-barrier collisions, the impact condition for longitudinal barriers of SMART highway was determined to be quite larger than the existing maximum impact condition. The impact condition consists of impact vehicles, impact velocities, and impact angles. To consider the occupant safety of passenger cars as much as possible, a small car with high risk during impact was selected as the impact vehicle for the evaluation of occupant risk. The impact velocity was determined to be 20% larger than the existing maximum impact velocity in order to include accident impact velocities as much as possible. The impact angle was determined to include most of expected accident impact angles. Computer simulations using various impact conditions were conducted for the existing domestic highest-performance medium and roadside barrier. How the suggested impact condition has an effect on the occupant safety was investigated. The existing domestic highest-performance medium and roadside barriers could not satisfy the suggested impact condition. New high-performance longitudinal barriers are required to minimize the degree of damage for the SMART highway's punctuality and safety after car-barrier collisions.
This study investigated the causes and problems of train operation impediments through the statistics analysis of 8 years'internal data of Daejeon Metropolitan Express Transit. By evaluating the risks regarding the system, equipment, and parts of high risk group, this study measured the Risk Index Severity, and applied the $5{\times}5$ Risk Assessment Matrix which is a method of risk management to calculate the scale of risk to analyze the safety level and allowance range. As a result, the car sector, the most serious risk, followed by machinery and equipment sector showed that the inherent risk. In particular, the door broken and the door rail signaling and control devices due to defects of the vehicle is high, but also the severity, and frequency are showing very frequent additional potential accidents. PSD also had defects in the machinery sector appeared to be the most dangerous of the PSD poor safety gates, it was found that the glass also involve the risk of mishandling and breakage of the PSD. This study intended to contribute to the transportation benefits through the safety and stable operation of Metropolitan Express Transit.

An free-fall object is received only force of gravity. Movement that only accept gravity is free-fall movement, and a free-falling object is free falling body. In other words, free falling body is only freely falling objects under the influence of gravity, regardless of the initial state of objects movement. In this paper, we assume, ignoring the resistance of the air, and the free-fall acceleration by the height does not change within the range of the short distance in the vertical direction. Under these assumptions, we can know about time and maximum height to reach the peak point from jumping vertically upward direction, time and speed of the car return to the starting position, and time and speed when the car fall to the ground. It can be measured by jumping degree and risk of accident from car or motorcycle in telematics.
