Implementation of Interference Cancellation System for Relay Utilizing the CGM Algorithm (CGM 알고리즘을 이용한 중계기 간섭제거기 구현)

  • This paper shows a novel interference cancellation method of relay utilizing to the CGM algorithm in wireless communication environments. It is a problem that relay have interference cause by feedback signal of it. CGM algorithm obtained weight value that can remove the interference due to feedback signal of relay. In this paper, we confirm that performance of CGM algorithm is far superior with suitable cancellation value to remove the feedback signal. Also, we implement CGM module to verify the real-time processing of CGM algorithm using to DSP. Based on the analysis from computer simulation, it is observed that proposed algorithm is suitable for the relay in time-varying environment.

  • In this paper, a nonlinear echo cancellation approach, based on a Gauss-Seidel pseudo affine projection algorithm and Volterra filtering, is proposed to compensate for echo path nonlinearity in the telephone network. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed approach yields reduction of computational complexity and improved convergence speed than the conventional nonlinear echo cancellation methods (NLMS, ECLMS, FAP, RLS).

  • We consider the problem to find economic inventory quantity of a single commodity under stochastic demands and order cancellation. In contrast to the traditional economic production quantity (EPQ) model, we assume that once the amount of inventory reaches to a predetermined level of quantity then the production is not halted but its production speed decreases until the inventory level drops to zero. We establish two probabilistic models representing the behaviors of both the high-production period and low-production period, respectively, and derive the relationship between the level of inventory and costs of production, cancellation, and holding, from which the quantity of economic inventory is obtained.

  • 본 논문에서는 DS/CDMA (Direct Sequence/Code Division Multipe Access) 시스템에서 임시 판정 함수로서 연판정 함수와 경판정 함수를 적용한 파이프라인화된 직렬 간섭 제어 구조(PSIC, Pipelined Successive Interference Cancellation)의 성능을 수식적으로 분석하고, 모의 실험을 통하여 검증한다. PSIC 구조는 다단 직렬 간섭 제거 구조(MSIC, Multistage Successive Interference Cancellation)가 가지는 복호지연(decoding delay)의 문제를 해결하기 위해 파이프라인 구조를 MSIC에 적용한 것이다. 제안된PSIC 구조는 하드웨어의 복잡도(hardwar complexity)를 희생하여 비트 오율(BER, Bit Error Rate)의 증가 없이 MSIC에서 발생하는 복호 지연을 줄일 수 있다. 또한 제안된 PSIC 구조에서 연판정 함수와 경판정 함수를 각 간섭 제거 단(Cancellation stage)에서의 임시 판정 함수로 사용하여 얻게 되는 PSIC 구조들의 성능을 비교한다. 분석 및 실험 결과에 의하면 제안되 PSIC 구조에서는 경판정 함수를 사용할때의 성능이 연판정 함수를 사용할때의 성능보다 우수함을 알 수 있었다.

Useful Characteristics for Controlling the Cancellation Performance and Center Frequency of a Linearization Loop

  • The cancellation performance of a linearization loop is limited by the degree of an amplitude imbalance and a phase imbalance. A delay mismatch causes a phase variation as a function of frequency. Therefore, the cancellation performance and linearization bandwidth are limited by a delay mismatch. The expression for the effects of an amplitude imbalance, a phase imbalance, and a delay mismatch on the characteristics of a linearization loop is derived and analyzed. The simulation results are compared with the results obtained by means of using a commercial simulation tool and the exact agreement is reported. The derived equation could be used in designing a linearization loop and predicting the cancellation performance of the linearization loop usefully. Some useful characteristics, known from the simulation results obtained by using the derived equation, of a linearization loop for designing and implementing feedforward amplifiers are described in detail.

Efficient ICI Self-Cancellation Scheme for OFDM Systems

  • In this paper, we present a new inter-carrier interference (ICI) self-cancellation scheme - namely, ISC scheme - for orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing systems to reduce the ICI generated from phase noise (PHN) and residual frequency offset (RFO). The proposed scheme comprises a new ICI cancellation mapping (ICM) scheme at the transmitter and an appropriate method of combining the received signals at the receiver. In the proposed scheme, the transmitted signal is transformed into a real signal through the new ICM using the real property of the transmitted signal; the fast-varying PHN and RFO are estimated and compensated. Therefore, the ICI caused by fast-varying PHN and RFO is significantly suppressed. We also derive the carrier-to-interference power ratio (CIR) of the proposed scheme by using the symmetric conjugate property of the ICI weighting function and then compare it with those of conventional schemes. Through simulation results, we show that the proposed ISC scheme has a higher CIR and better bit error rate performance than the conventional schemes.

  • We propose a new relay system which use echo cancellation in relay station. In the proposed relay system, a half of time resource is required to transmit a symbol compared to conventional relay system. We show the echo cancellation method and frame structure of the proposed system. Simulation result shows that the proposed system has twice capacity than that of the conventional system.

  • Due to its superior error correcting performance with affordable hardware complexity, the Polar code becomes one of the most important error correction codes (ECCs) and now intensively examined to check its applicability in various fields. However, Successive Cancellation (SC) decoding that brings the advanced Successive Cancellation List (SCL) decoding suffers from the long latency due to the nature of serial processing limiting the practical implementation. To mitigate this problem, many decoding architectures, mainly divided into pruning and parallel decoding, are presented in previous manuscripts. In this paper, we compare the recent SC decoding architectures and analyze them using a tree structure.

  • An efficient echo cancellation method, which controls the echo caused from the PSTN, is proposed. In our situation, the PSTN is connected to the mobile subscriber and the base-station which use different bit-rate CVSD(continuously variable slope delta modulation) coders and echo canceller is installed at the location of the base-station. By using the symmetry of the coder pairs. the proposed method shortens the echo pate length and reduces the nonlinear distortion inherent in the coders. And it is implemented in the decoded signal region, so fitted to the general-purpose DSP implementation. We also proposed a echo cancellation method using the combined bit-stream so as to implement without the multipliers onto the VLSI. It has an improved echo cancellation performance by reducing the high frequency noises in the coders. And it has an reduced complexity by reducing the excitation rate of the bit-stream.

Control Strategy of Total Output Power Ripple Cancellation for DFIG in MV Wind Power Systems under Unbalanced Grid Conditions

  • This paper proposes a control strategy of total output power ripple cancellation for both of Machine-Side Converter (MSC) and Grid-Side Converter (GSC) in a DFIG under unbalanced grid conditions. The proposed control strategy for the MSC is the zero torque ripple control algorithm with an enhanced LVRT capability. The control algorithm for the MSC exhibits reduced torque pulsation in steady-state unbalanced grid conditions. In addition, this control algorithm also minimizes a peak value of rotor current in transient unbalanced grid conditions. The total output power ripple cancellation control algorithm is adopted in the GSC. The total output power ripple cancellation is achieved by nullifying the oscillating component of the total output active and reactive power at the summing point of stator and rotor of DFIG. The proposed control strategy for the GSC reduces the output power oscillation leading to the improved quality of wind farms output.
