In this paper, forced vibration was used to regulate the droplet migration, fully recording the transient migration of droplets on a micro-textured substrate under the resonance frequency by a high-speed camera. The influence of resonance frequency and dynamic migration characteristics of droplets on the solid micro-texture surface under lateral vibration were researched. The experiment demonstrates that the driving force is caused by the difference between the left and right contact angles made the droplet oscillate and migrate, and as time t increases, the left and right contact points are periodically shifted and the amplitude of migration increases. Therefore, based on the droplet migration behavior and its force balance mechanism, a spring vibration model of migration behavior of the vibrating droplet micro unit was set up to predict the complete trajectory of its migration on a solid surface. The calculation results show that the theoretical displacement is less than the experimental displacement, and the longer the time, the larger the difference. Affected by the vibration, part of the droplet permeates through the micro-texture, resulting in the droplet losing height and the contact angle becoming smaller as well. While the other part of droplet overcomes the internal surface tension to migrate.
Recently, railway industry has been developed not only functional parts such as acceleration and high performance of the railway but also emotional parts such as improved ride comfort and blocking noise. However, some important components of railway such as wheel and rail always had exposed too much operation time, cyclic load and rolling contact directly. The variations of load, vibration and chemical compositions were caused of wheel and rail having a lot of different types of contact fatigue damages. Therefore, It is necessary to improve inspection and maintenance technology in order to ensure safety and reliability of railway. Many researchers have already been reported the technology. Magnetic camera, one of the non-destructive testing technique can be used to inspect and evaluate the changes of magnetic field in ferromagnetic and paramagnetic materials with cracks. When an electromagnetic is applied to a specimen, a magnetic field will be distorted around a crack on the specimen. In present paper, the distribution of magnetic property in wheel with cracks using magnetic camera had investigated. The crack can be detected and evaluated by distribution analysis of magnetic field. The magnetic camera technique can be detected and evaluated the crack by rolling contact fatigue.
Properties of textile fabrics influence the appearance, aesthetics, and performance of garment. Drape and related properties of fabrics affect profoundly the static and dynamic appearance during wearer's movement. The three dimensional shape of the folded structure often deforms with time or with subtle vibration around the fabric specimen during the drape measurement. Due to the uneven and complex nature of fabrics, the overall shape of the fabric specimen on the drape tester often becomes unstable. There is a need to understand the fundamental mechanisms of how draping may generate pleasing forms. Two drape test methods, conventional Cusick drape test, and in-built drape tester, based on a depth camera, are compared. Fabric specimens including cotton, linen, silk, wool, polyester, and rayon are investigated for the fabric drape and other physical/mechanical parameters. Drape coefficient values of fabric specimens are compared based on the final drape images, together with the intermediate 3D drape images of the specimens during elevation process of the drape tester equipped with a stepper motor system. The correlation coefficient between the data based on the two methods is reasonably high. Another advantage from the depth camera system is that it allows further analysis of three-dimensional information regarding the fabric drape shape, including the shape of nodes or crest and trough.
In this study, the performance of a DPRMs is evaluated and the measurement precision for the pile driving is presented. The DPRMs is a visual-measurement system for the pile rebound and the penetration movement using a high speed line-scan camera. The DPRMs generates the measurement deviation. It is caused by the strong impact for the pile driving. To reduce it, the vibration signal analysis about the pile driving is performed. As a result, it is confirmed that the tilting frequency of a camera-tripod structure corresponding to excitation frequency range of the ground is under 40Hz. Through the structure modification, the camera-tripod structure is redesigned to the model being free itself from the excitation frequency range of the ground. By the verification testing about the improvement effects, it is inspected that the tilting and measurement deviation of the redesigned DPRMs are reduced.
In this paper, we present a vision system which measures the cross-section of a hot wire-rod in the steel plant. We developed a mobile vision system capable of accurate measurement, which is strong to vibration and jolt when moving. Our system uses green laser light sources and CCD cameras as a sensor, where laser sheet beams form a cross-section contour on the surface of the hot wire-rod and the reflected light from the wire-rode is imaged on the CCD cameras. We use four lasers and four cameras to obtain the image with the complete cross-section contour without an occlusion region. We also perform camera calibrations to obtain each cameras physical parameters by using a single calibration pattern sheet. In our measuring algorithm, distorted four-camera images are corrected by using the camera calibration information and added to generate an image with the complete cross-section contour of the wire-rod. Then, from this image, the cross-section contour of the wire-rod is extracted by preprocessing and segmentation, and its height, width and area are measured.

A camera module that gathers visual information via aerial observation reconnaissance is equipped inside a gimbal structure. This gimbal structure system must reduce dynamic responses in order to obtain clear images under all circumstances. Among many design specifications for this system, there is MIL-STD-810G as a shock standard. This specification indicates a limitation of the acceleration of the camera module under a base shock excitation on the gimbal structure. The satisfaction of this condition can usually be proved by experiment, because it includes bearings and dynamic isolators made of rubber. Numerical analysis must be proposed for design improvement of the gimbal structure. To achieve this goal, transient response analysis for the base shock excitation was performed using the finite element method. Experimental results were compared with numerical solutions and it is shown that the present method is useful.
In this paper, in order to impart the aging condition of the parts, by configuring the cycle of temperature from low temperature was performed by applying the aging conditions for vehicle cockpit module. The reason for the selected modules of the cockpit vehicle parts, because the joint occurrence typical components of the room component is a first module and ceiling cockpit module. After setting the excitation profile using the BSR exciter only that this is for the module degradation after the initial and grasp the change in the dynamic characteristics of the modules based on the before and after deterioration may be made in the module, grasp the noise generating position I measured the noise and proximity. Was also visualized on the position of the joint is generated using a sound camera to objective results occurring where the joint is selected through subjective evaluation.
We propose a face recognition and notification system that can transform visual face information into tactile signals in order to help visually impaired people. The proposed system consists of a glasses type camera, a mobile computer and an electronic cane. The glasses type camera captures the frontal view of the user, and sends this image to mobile computer. The mobile computer starts to search for human's face in the image when obstacles are detected by ultrasonic sensors. In a case that human's face is detected, the mobile computer identifies detected face. At this time, Adaboost and compressive sensing are used as a detector and a classifier, respectively. After the identification procedures of the detected face, the identified face information is sent to controller attached to a cane using a Bluetooth communication. The controller generates motor control signals using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) according to the recognized face labels. The vibration motor generates vibration patterns to inform the visually impaired person of the face recognition result. The experimental results of face recognition and notification system show that proposed system is helpful for visually impaired people by providing person identification results in front of him/her.
Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry(ESPI) was proposed in the 1970's as a method of producing the interferogram without using traditional holographic technique. ESPI is more faster than Holography method, because the interferometric image is recorded and updated by the video camera every 1/30 second and whold-field inspection possibly. In this study using a non-contact optical technique that is suited for in-plane and out-of-plane deformation measurement. Thin plate with crack was analyzed by ESPI to determine the characteristics of vibration mode shape and natural frequency. Also, results of the experiment were compared with Finite Element Method(FEM).
