한국 미취학 아동의 Sodium과 Potassium의 계절별 영양대사에 관한 연구 -기타 전해질 : Calcium, Phosphorus 및 Magnesium을 첨가하여- (The Seasonal on Sodium and Potassium Intakes, and Their Metabolisms of Preschool Children in Korea -Add Other Electrolyes : Calcium, Phosphours and Magnesium-)

  • The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship of the dietary nutrients to blood pressure among preschool children in Seoul and to concurrently study the effect of seasonal variance on the aforementioned relationship. The subjects of the study consisted of 203 preschool children aged four to six years. Anthropometric measurements of height, weight, pulse rate and blood pressure, urinary excretion of five cations(Na, K, Ca, P, Mg), creatinine and urea nitrogen and dietary questionaires concerning sodium, potassium calcium and phosphorus were taken during the two periods of summer(Aug. 1986)and winter(Feb, 1987). The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1) The daily urinary excretion of five cations, creatinine and urea nitrogen is summer and winter was as follows; The sodium content was 57.8 mEq in the summer and 59.4 mEq in the winter ; potassium 20.4 mEq and 23.0 mEq, respectively ; calcium, 5.5 mEq and 3.6 mEq, respectively ; and phosphorus, 27.4 mEq and 19.9 mEq, respectively. Only calcium and phosphours excretions in the urine showed significant differences per season(p<0.05). 2) The average dietary intake per day of sodium was 2349mg in the summer and 2155mg in the winter ; potassium consumption was 1425mg in the summer and 1448mg in the winter ; intake of calcium was 472mg in the summer and 500mg in the winter ; and phosphours consumption was 642mg in the summer and 634mg in hte winter. The sodium-to-potassium consumption ratio 1.6 and 1.5, respectively, in the summer and in the winter and the calcium-to-phosphorus ration was 0.7 in the summer and 0.8 in the winter. The dietary calcium intake showed significant differences between the seasons. 3) The principal source of sodium consumption among preschool children was from seasoning-including talbe salt, soy sauce and instant sauce-which accounted for higher then 45% of the sodium intake in both seasons. The main source of potassium was frutis and vegetables which accounted for 29.6% of the potassium intake in the summer and 25.7% in the winter. 식물추출액을 이용한 지반 고결제 개발 (Development of Soil Binder Using Plant Extracts)

  • 본 연구에서는 식물추출액을 이용하여 모래 입자 사이에 친환경적으로 탄산칼슘을 석출시켜 모래 고결을 유발하고자 하였다. 식물추출액에는 고결유발 미생물(예: $Sporosarcina$ $pasteurii$)과 같이 요소를 탄산이온과 암모늄이온으로 분해하는 우레아제 성분이 포함되어 있다. 분해된 탄산이온과 용액 속에 녹아 있는 칼슘이온이 결합하여 탄산칼슘을 석출시키는 원리를 이용하여 모래의 고결을 유도하였다. 깨끗한 낙동강모래에 식물추출액과 요소 그리고 칼슘원(염화칼슘 또는 수산화칼슘)을 혼합한 용액을 섞어서 비빈 다음 다짐방법으로 공시체를 제작하였다. 요소의 농도를 세 종류로 달리하였으며, 제작된 공시체를 실내($18^{\circ}C$)에서 3일 동안 양생시킨 다음 일축압축시험과 SEM 및 XRD분석을 실시하여 사질토의 고결 정도를 연구하였다. 칼슘원에 관계없이 요소의 농도가 높을수록 탄산칼슘이 더 많이 침전되어 일축압축강도는 식물추출액을 사용하지 않은 경우보다 최대 10배까지 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 염화칼슘을 사용한 공시체가 수산화칼슘을 사용한 경우보다 더 높은 강도를 나타내었다.

  • As dietary intakes levels of Calcium decrease below those recommended by health authorities the incidence of Osteoporosis is set to continue to rise. To address this issue it is becoming necessary to fortify regularly consumed foods such as cereals, biscuits etc. with ingredients such as AquaCal. AquaCal is a natural, organic source of calcium that is produced from calcified seaweed, Phymatolithon and Lithothamnion and can be utilised for Calcium and magnesium supplementation in a broad range of foods and beverages. AquaCal presents a great potential over other calcium sources because of its porous structure and it composition associating key minerals as calcium, magnesium and boron in addition to being neutral in taste in applications. Once consumed the efficacy of AquaCal must then be verified therefore a bioavailability a comparative feeding study to assess effects of AquaCal on bone density was carried out. There was no significant difference in bioavailability based on calcium absorption between AquaCal and Limestone however the weights of the femurs of the animals fed AquaCal did significantly increase over the group fed Limestone. As a natural and organic mineral AquaCal has many different fields of application.

천연칼슘소재의 이온화 특성 및 In vitro 칼슘 이용률 (Calcium Ionization Characteristics and In vitro Bioavailability Derived from Natural Calcium Sources)

  • 본 연구에서는 4종의 천연칼슘소재를 이용하여 칼슘 이온화 특성 및 in vitro 칼슘 이용률을 조사하였다. 천연칼슘소재는 8.0%(w/v) 첨가농도까지 칼슘용해량과 칼슘이온 함량은 증가하였으나 이상의 농도에서는 큰 변화는 없었다. 또한 이온화율은 약 90%로, 칼슘소재와 첨가농도에 따른 큰 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 칼슘의 이온화에 용해온도는 큰 영향이 없었으며, 용해 18시간째 가장 높은 칼슘이온 함량을 나타났다. 칼슘액 중 BS의 in vitro 칼슘 이용률은 67.3%로 가장 높게 나타났으며, AS는 62.4%, DS는 57.9%, CS는 57.5%로 시판 칼슘제 및 천연칼슘소재에 비해서 약 2배 정도 높게 나타났다. 시판 우유, 두유 및 오렌지 주스의 in vitro 칼슘 이용률을 조사한 결과 탄산칼슘보다 이온화 칼슘액을 첨가한 구간에서 2배 이상 높게 나타났다. 따라서 천연칼슘소재의 이온화 칼슘은 생체 이용율이 높은 다양한 식품소재로 활용이 기대된다.

전복패각을 침전법의 원료로 이용한 calcium phosphates의 합성 (Synthesis of calcium phosphates from abalone shells via precipitation)

  • 전복패각을 Ca원으로 이용하여 바이오 소재로 중요한 인산칼슘(calcium phosphates)들을 침전법을 통해 합성하였다. 전복패각에서 유래한 수산화칼슘(Ca(OH)2)을 칼슘 공급원(전구체)으로 사용하였다. 수용액상에서 수산화칼슘과 인산(H3PO4)을 반응시켜 침전반응을 유도하여 인산칼슘화합물로의 합성을 유도하였다. 초기 전구체 Ca/P 비율을 1.50, 1.59 및 1.67로 조절하였으며 이 조성변화와 침전물에 대한 열처리가 분말 및 소결체의 물성에 미치는 영향에 대해 조사하였다. 초기 전구체 Ca/P 비율을 조절함으로써 소결체 상합성의 조절이 가능하였고, 1150℃에서 소결한 소결체에서(hydroxyapatite(HAp), β-tricalcium phosphate(β-TCP) 및 HAp와 β-TCP가 혼합된 2상 인산칼슘(BCP, HA/β-TCP))들이 합성되었다. 이러한 결과는 저비용, 고가용성을 가지는 경제적인 출발물질로부터 고부가가치 인산칼슘을 합성할 수 있는 가능성을 보여주었다.

Rat에 있어서 ethanol투여가 체조직의 무기질 함량에 미치는 영향 (The effect of ethanol on zinc, calcium and copper concentrations of tissues in rats)

  • This study was designed in order to clarify the effect of ethanol drinking on the mineral contents on liver, kidney, muscle and hair. Forty-five rats were divided into 2 groups and a control group. The control group received tap water and the other 2 groups were given 8% and 40% ethanol as drinking source. Liver, kindney, muscle and hair samples were taken and analyzed for zinc, calcium and copper contents by atomic absorption spectrophotometric methods. The results obtained are summrized as follows; 1. The zinc content of muscle showed significant (p<0.01) decrease in both groups. 2. The calcium content of hair showed significant (p<0.1) increase in 8% ethanol group. 3. The copper contents of kidney and muscle in 8% ethanol group and liver in 40% ethanol group showed significant (p<0.1) decrease.

기초식품군중(基礎食品群中).제사군(第四群)(칼슘급원(給源)) 연구(硏究) (A Study on Fourth Group of Basic Food Groups(Source of Calcium))

  • 한국도시인(韓國都市人)의 식이(食餌) 가운데 Ca 급원식이(給源食餌)의 1일섭취량(日攝取量) 및 실제 섭취(攝取)되고 있는 1일(日) Ca 량(量)을 기초조사(基礎調査)하기 위하여 부산(釜山) 전(全) 산역(山域)에 있는 7개구(個區)의 아파트군(群) 가운데 165가구(家口)를 대상(對象)으로 Ca급원식이(給源食餌)의 종류(種類), 섭취량(攝取量), Ca 함량(含量), 조리법(調理法)등을 조사(調査)하였던 바 다음과 같은 결과(結果)를 얻었다. 1. Ca 섭취대상(攝取對象)으로는 멸치와 우유를 주로 섭취하고 있으며 1일(日) Ca급원식품중(給源食品中)의 Ca함량(含量)은 195.06mg으로서 권장량에 상당히 미달(未達)되고 있다. 2. 멸치는 통째 먹는 경우보다 용출시키거나 뼈부분(部分)을 제거(除去)하고 섭취한다. 3. 뱅어포, 새우는 사용빈도가 많지 않았다. 4. 사골은 $5{\sim}6$시간 정도(程度) 용출시켜 섭취하고 있으나 용출시간이 길수록 Ca 용출량이 많았다. 5. 그밖의 생선(生鮮)은 Ca 급원(給源)이라 인정(認定)되는 뼈부분(部分)의 섭취가 거의 안되고 있으므로 뼈를 먹는 조리방법(調理方法)이 개선(改善)되어야 하겠으며 뼈와 동시에 조리(調理)를 하여 결국은 먹지 않음으로해서 버려지는 조미료의 손실도 함께 막아야 될 것 같다. 6. Ca 은 체내흡수(體內吸收)가 용이(容易)하지 않으므로 흡수효과(吸收效果)도 고려한 식품선택(食品選擇) 및 방법(方法)이 권장되어야 하겠다.

TRPC-Mediated Current Is Not Involved in Endocannabinoid-Induced Short-Term Depression in Cerebellum

  • It has been reported that activation of metabotropic glutamate receptor 1 (mGluR1) can mediate endocannabinoid-induced short-term depression of synaptic transmission in cerebellar parallel fiber (PF)-Purkinje cell (PC) synapse. mGluR1 has signaling pathways involved in intracellular calcium increase which may contribute to endocannabinoid release. Two major mGluR1-evoked calcium signaling pathways are known: (1) slow-kinetic inward current carried by transient receptor potential canonical (TRPC) channel which is permeable to $Ca^{2+}$; (2) $IP_3$-induced calcium release from intracellular calcium store. However, it is unclear how much each calcium source contributes to endocannabinoid signaling. Here, we investigated whether calcium influx through mGluR1-evoked TRPC channel contributes to endocannabinoid signaling in cerebellar Purkinje cells. At first, we applied SKF96365 to inhibit TRPC, which blocked endocannabinoid-induced short-term depression completely. However, an alternative TRP channel inhibitor, BTP2 did not affect endocannabinoid-induced short-term depression although it blocked mGluR1-evoked TRPC currents. Endocannabinoid signaling occurred normally even though the TRPC current was mostly blocked by BTP2. Our data imply that TRPC current does not play an important role in endocannabinoid signaling. We also suggest precaution in applying SKF96365 to inhibit TRP channels and propose BTP2 as an alternative TRPC inhibitor.

Energy Value of Carbohydrate and Lipids with Added Calcium for Growing Mice

  • The caloric contribution of diets supplemented with sucrose, corn oil, or tallow with or without additional calcium was examined using female CD1 weanling mice. Mice were limit-fed a semi-purified diet alone or with added isocaloric amounts from sucrose, corn oil, or tallow for 28 days. In addition, diets with suppelmental fat contained either 0.60% or 1.5% calcium. Fecal fat and fecal soap excretions were greater (p<0.06) for mice fed tallow than for those fed corn oil. Mean metabolizable energy values for sucrose, tallow, and corn oil averaged 4.01, 7.96, and 8.94 kcal, respectively. Retention of digested energy from sucrose, tallow and corn oil averaged 13%, 10% and 21%, respectively. Hence, per gram of added nutrient, retained energy from tallow averaged 1.60 and that from corn oil averaged 4.11 times that of added sucrose. Retained energy from added corn oil was greater (p<0.01) than from added tallow. On a retained energy basis, the relative value for corn oil was greater and the relative value for tallow was less than the metabolizable energy ratio of fat to carbohydrate proposed by Atwater of 2.25.Added calcium depressed(p<0.01) digestibilities of both dry matter and energy with a greater(p<0.01) effect on tallow than on corn oil. These findings imply that the source of fat and calcium in the diet influence the avail-ability energy in diets and should be considered in feed formulations.

Variation of Mineral Compositions in the Regional, Varietal, and Seasonal Mulberry Leaves

  • This study was carried out to investigate the mineral content in the regional, varietal and seasonal mulberry leaves. On average, mulberry leaf samples contained minerals in the order of potassiumi phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, iron and so on (2.494 g/100 g, 2.255 g/100 g, 1.835 g/100 g, 0.627 g/100 g, 0.0245 g/100 g DW, respectively). Calcium content was 19-fold and 4-fold higher than that of green tea and spinach, respectively, suggesting that mulberry loaves appear to be a calcium-rich food source. In the comparison of geographic samples of Cheongilppong variety, calcium bevel was highest in Youngchun sample (2.477 g/100 g) and highest potassium level in Suwon sample (2.962 g/100 g). In the geographic samples of YK209 variety, Jinju-City sample was highest in calcium content (1.509 g/100 g). Among wild mulberry loaves collected from Cheju Island and Tsushima, potassium level was highest in Bongge-dong, Cheiu City (3.865 g/100 g) and calcium level in Mitshshima Town, Tsushima (2.948 g/100 g). In the comparison of varietal samples collected in Suwon at the mulberry field of Dept. of Sericulture & entomology, Shinkwangppong variety was highest in the potassium levels although Keryangppong and Shinkwangppong were higher in calcium revel. In the comparison of seasonal samples of Cheongilppong, there was a rough trend of increase in some minerals up to July (e.g., calcium rind )potassium). Finding of the highest calcium and potassium contents in the wild mulberry (3.865 g/100 g and 2.948 g/100 g, respectively) rather than in the cultivated ones warrant that more focus should be paid to wild mulberry leaves to utilize their minerals effciently.
