For enhancing network efficiency, content-centric networking (CCN) allows network nodes to temporally cache a transmitted response message(Data) and then to directly respond to a request message (Interest) for previously cached contents. Also, CCN is designed to utilize a hierarchical content-name for transmitting Interest/Data instead of a host identity like IP address. This content-name included in Interest/Data reveals both content information itself and the structure of network domain of a content source which is needed for transmitting Interest/Data. To make matters worse, This content-name is human-readable like URL. Hence, through analyzing the content-name in Interest/Data, it is possible to analyze the creator of the requested contents. Also, hosts around the requester can analyze contents which are asked by the requester. Hence, for securely implementing CCN, it is essentially needed to make the content-name illegible. In this paper, we propose content-name encoding schemes for CCN so as to make the content-name illegible and evaluate the performance of our proposal.

Although LRU is not adequate for database that has non-uniform reference pattern, it has been adopted in most database systems due to the absence of the proper alternative. We analyze database block reference pattern with the realistic database trace. Based on this analysis, we propose a new cache replacement policy. Trace analysis shows that extremely non-popular blocks take up about 70 % of the entire blocks. The influence of recency on blocks' re-reference likelihood is at first strong due to temporal locality, however, it rapidly decreases and eventually becomes negligible as stack distance increases. Based on this observation, RCB(Reference Characteristic Based) cache replacement policy, which we propose in this paper, classifies the entire blocks into four block groups by blocks' recency and re-reference likelihood, and operates different priority evaluation methods for each block group. RCB policy evicts non-popular blocks more quickly than the others and evaluates the priority of the block by frequency that has not been referenced for a long time. In a trace-driven simulation, RCB delivers a better performance than the existing polices(LRU, 2Q, LRU-K, LRFU). Especially compared to LRU. It reduces miss count by 5~l2.7%. Time complexity of RCB is O(1), which is the same with LRU and 2Q and superior to LRU-K(O(log$_2$N)) and LRFU(O(l) ~ O(log$_2$N)).

Wireless mesh network (WMN) is a promising technology for building a cost-effective and easily-deployed wireless networking infrastructure. To efficiently utilize limited radio resources in WMNs, packet transmissions (particularly, redundant packet transmissions) should be carefully managed. We therefore propose a lightweight traffic redundancy elimination (LTRE) scheme to reduce redundant packet transmissions in software-defined wireless mesh networks (SD-WMNs). In LTRE, the controller determines the optimal path of each packet to maximize the amount of traffic reduction. In addition, LTRE employs three novel techniques: 1) machine learning (ML)-based information request, 2) ID-based source routing, and 3) popularity-aware cache update. Simulation results show that LTRE can significantly reduce the traffic overhead by 18.34% to 48.89%.
The recent development of overlay network technology enables distributed sharing of various types of contents. Although overlay network has great advantages as a huge content repository, it is practically difficult to directly provide such Internet service as streaming of contents. On the other hand, the media server, which is specialized in content services, has excellent service capabilities, but it suffers from the huge contents that are constantly created and requires large expansion of severs and storages, and thus requires much effort for efficient management of the huge repository. Hence, the association of an overlay network of huge storage with a media server of high performance content service will show a great synergy effect. In this paper, a location-aware scheme of constructing overlay networks and associating it with media server is proposed, and then cache-based contents management and service policy are proposed for efficient content service. The performance is analysed for one of the content services, streaming service.

The Proxy Mobile IPv6 is a network-based localized mobility management protocol. In the PMIPv6, Mobile Nodes are topologically anchored at a Local Mobility Anchor, which forwards all data packets for registered Mobile Nodes. Since all data packets destined for the Mobile Nodes a1ways traverse the Mobile Nodes's Local Mobility Anchor, the LMA might be bottleneck and the end-to-end de1ay are increased. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed an enhanced Route Optimization scheme in Multiple Local Mobility Anchors environment. In order to rapid1y detect Route Optimization, we designed Domain Information Table in Mobility Access Gateway. Furthermore, we use Correspondent Binding Cache in Local Mobility Anchor to maintain Route Optimization information during Mobile Nodes's handover. To solve packet loss and reodering problems during handover, we propose a new buffering and forwarding scheme.
