The people who lived in Fujian district along the south-eastern coast of China long ago began to construct ships and go fishing. For this reason, they grasped sound navigation skills and gained rich navigation experience. These skills and experience laid basis for the following large-scale overseas trade. In the Tang dynasty, with the development of economy, the people who lived in Fujian district started to leave home town and engage in overseas trade. In the Song dynasty and the Yuan dynasty, with the fast development of overseas communication, more and more Fujian maritime merchants, navigating the Fujian ships which were safe, fast and could arrive at destination on time, engaged in overseas trade. The Fujian ships made it possible for the Fujian maritime merchants to shorten trade time, catch business opportunity, level up the chance of success in trade and make full use of capital. As a result of this, Fujian maritime merchants gained fast development and they reached far areas such as eastern Asia, south-eastern Asia, southern Asia, and eastern Africa. This study deals with the issues such as the reasons for the development of Fujian maritime merchants, the trade engaged in by Fujian maritime merchants, the Fujian ships which played a decisive role in the overseas trade of Fujian maritime merchants.

The shrimp fishery for Penaeus japonicus on the Koje-Do coast commences in May and continues to October. The best catches are made twice a year, namely June and September. Modal carapace length for the female is $51\~55\;mm$ in May, $51\~60\;mm$ in June occupying about 80 percent of the total catch. There is conspicuous mode in July and $46\~50\;mm$ in August. Modal carapace length for the male is $41\~45\;mm$ in May, $46\~50\;mm$ in June, $41\~45\;mm$ in July and August. The stock of p. japonicus can be divided into two groups, namely, spring and fall groups. Among samples of p. japonicus during the period from May through August the sex ratio consisted of about 33 percent females and 67 percent males, showing wide departure from a 1:1 ratio. The relationships between carapace length ($\iota$), body length (L) and body weight (W) are expressed by the following formulae : $$L=2.9418{\iota}+2.0166$$, $$W:1.449{\iota}^{2.2858}$$ (Mayssample) $$L=2.5551{\iota}+4.2986$$, $$W=1.528{\iota}^{2.2595}$$ (June sample) $$L=2.6738{\iota}+3.4037$$, $$W=1.341{\iota}^{2.3598}$$ (July sample) The relatlonship between carapace length ($\iota$) and ovary weight (W) is shown as follows: $W=2.695\times10^{-3}\iota^{4.2973}$ for May, June and July Samples.

IC package marking inspection system using machine vision locates and identifies the target elements from input image, and decides the quality of marking by comparing the extracted target elements with the standard patterns. This paper proposes an adaptive multi-level thresholding (AMLT) method which is suitable for a series of operations such as locating the target IC package, extracting the characters, and detecting the Pinl dimple. It also proposes a dynamic matching unit selection (DMUS) method which is robust to noises as well as effective to catch out the local marking errors. The main idea of the AMLT method is to restrict the inputs of Otsu's thresholding algorithm within a specified area and a partial range of gray values. Doing so, it can adapt to the specific domain. The DMUS method dynamically selects the matching unit according to the result of character extraction and layout analysis. Therefore, in spite of the various erroneous situation occurred in the process of character extraction and layout analysis, it can select minimal matching unit in any environment. In an experiment with 280 IC package images of eight types, the correct extracting rate of IC package and Pinl dimple was 100% and the correct decision rate of marking quality was 98.8%. This result shows that the proposed methods are effective to IC package marking inspection.

After the housing shortage problem for the youths has invoked substantial social attention recently, Seoul's 2030 Youth Housing Program has been timely improvised and successfully providing the decent rental housing packages for the deprived youths of the City. Its housing supply rate, nevertheless, did not sufficiently catch up with the actual need of the youth group so that the program goal is seen by many to be difficult to readily achieve. In an effort to counteract such adversities, it is seen, in this study, that the clarification of the criteria that judges adjacency condition for up-zoning when a candidate housing site is adjoining to a denser land-use classes could be one effective method to augment its supply rate. This study, in this context, has performed spatial structure analyses via space syntax method against: 1) the conceptual diagram in the City's official manual that renders the acceptable adjacency conditions, and; 2) numerous real-world 2030 Youth Housing cases enlisted in the City's public notices that permit their construction. The consequences are that the axial map is not applicable whereas the convex map is adequate for the purpose at hand, and, among all the cases, those spaces that are adjacent with its Depth of less than 2 are seen to successfully satisfy the official adjacency condition for the up-zoning.

Catch of garden thrips, Frankliniella intonsa, on sticky traps was assessed by color and height in commercial plastic vinyl house strawberry crops grown on 40-cm-high trellises. Yellow, blue and white sticky cards were tested for color attractiveness, and upper (50 cm), lower (10 cm above the floor) and ground were for height. At each height, trapped thrips on yellow, blue and white were significantly different. Blue sticky cards were significantly greater than traps on yellow and white. The trapped thrips were also significantly greatest at 50 cm above the floor, less at lower and ground. However, there is no significantly different the population of garden thrips on the flower in each tested site.

In general, to conduct aesthetic restorations, various analyses are carried out using a camera from the initial examination with the final prosthesis in consideration. With the reality that many dentists are using digital cameras, it can be considered that the time of digital impression has already started. Just as the recent general trend is that more and more internationally renowned photographers are switching their film cameras to digital counterparts, it is likely that CAD/CAM will show another direction in the area of the aesthetic dentistry that we may want to pursue. With the word 'digital', the convenience and economics often come to mind in the first place. However, from the dental clinical viewpoint, it is important to improve and develop the CAD/CAM system based on understanding its specialty and superiority while respecting the conventional analog techniques. However, a regretful aspect is that it is often difficult to catch up with the latest advancements for proper referencing and follow-up of digital technologies since the CAD/CAM device and material are developing very rapidly. Accordingly, although it is ideal to have hands-on experiences in various digital material and devices, and adapt to their fast changes, it must be stressed that the clinical application is to be implemented on the basis of the proven traditional way of dental clinics in order to obtain better outcomes. This presentation will explore types of approaches that can be made by combining the traditional techniques and the CAD/CAM from the aesthetic viewpoint. In addition, it is hoped and eagerly awaited that the CAD/CAM restoration may play a significant role in the field of the 'digital art'.

To elucidate the species compositions of estuarine and inshore fauna and compare productivities between them, catch were collected by bag nets in the Han River estuary off Ganghwa Island and the inshore waters off Jangbong Island for 24 hours at the spring tide from March to December 2010. Community structures of nekton assemblages were different with area, month, taxonomic groups. Although the diversity of estuarine nekton assemblage was lower than that of inshore nekton assemblage, the productivity of nekton assemblage in estuary was higher than that in the inshore waters. Nekton assemblages were distributed according to habitat environment: the estuarine species, Coilia mystus, Chelon haematocheilus, Collichthys lucidus were prominent in the Han River estuary off Ganghwa Island, and marine species, Thryssa kammalensis, Sardinella zunasi, Portunus trituberculatus were prominent in the inshore waters off Jangbong Island. Palaemon gravieri, Exopalaemon carinicauda, Synechogobius hasta were inhabited in both waters. The health assessment of estuarine ecosystem based on scientific research will be contributed to the effective management of estuary with determination of order and direction in policy.

This thesis is studied by means of operation diary of the factory ship GAECHEOG in the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Bering from Jul. 1993 to Dec. 1996, We summarize these results as follows : 1. The factory ship GAECHEOG equipped trawl winch able to haul raw fish 700M/T per day and cargo winch able to unload manufactured goods 900M/T. The crews consist of 290~330 persons. 2. Factory machineries equipped surimi making plant able to process about 150M/T per day and fish meal plant able to manufacture about 70M/T per day. 3. The fishing ground from June to Nov. was the western Bering sea lying in the eastern Kamchaka peninsula and from Dec. to May, the fishing period to gather roe of a Pollack, was the Sea of Ohotsk lying in the western Kamchaka peninsula. 4. The buying catch of fish per each voyage from Dec. to May, the fishing period gathering Pollack-roe, was about 17,000~33,000M/T and from Jul. to Oct., the fishing period gathering non Pollack-roe, was about 10,000~21,000 M/T. 5. Raw fish was the most about 33,000M/T of the 2nd voyage in 1994 and was the least about 8,300M/T of the 1st voyage in 1993. Other voyages were about 13,000~18,000M/T. 6. The Pollack buying from Jul. to Nov. in the Bering sea was 5~7 fishes for one row in pan and body length about 40~50cm, and from Dec. to May in the Sea of Ohotsk was 6~8 fishes for one row in pan and body length about 37~45cm. 7. Surimi production in the 2nd voyage in 1994 was the most about 7,300 M/T, in the 1st voyage in 1993 was the least 1,900M/T and in other voyages was about 2,500~3,800M/T. The extraction rate of surimi goods for raw fish was about 17.4~26.5%. 8. Fish meal production in the 2nd voyage in 1994 was the most about 2,300 M/T, in the 1st voyage in 1993 was the least about 780M/T and in other voyages was about 1,100~1,700M/T. The extraction rate of fish meal goods for raw fish was about 7.3~10.7%. 9. Pollack-roe production was very much from Jan. to Apr. and was about 380~700M/T per each voyage. The extraction rate of Pollack-roe for raw fish was about 1.2~4.9%.

We may consider the inducement of demand to public transportation as a solution to relieve traffic congestion and pollution. Subway has merits as moving on schedule, transporting more people than bus. But subway is required a vast investment in the early stage of construction has a huge debt. So it runs into red figures, and on this account, services of subway are falling more and more. Development of subway's operation cost function is useful to understand structure of subway's operation and catch the relations of operation cost and actual results. In addition, we can present the policy that is a helpful to the operation as development of operation cost function. But there are short of studies about operation cost deal with a subway comparison with local train. Because local train has many lines and data, on the other hand, subway has one to four lines and less data. Most of previous studies sought the operation cost function of Seoul. So this study aimed to develop and apply the operation cost function of Seoul, Incheon, Busan and Daegu area using full allocation method. In this study, we considered the number of passengers, track-km, train-km, revenue as actual results. By appling the operation cost function, we compared the average cost of each city and confirmed the existence of economies of scale about the number of passengers, train-km.
