A Study on the Contents and Consumers' Recognition of Clothing Product Evaluation Statements in the Internet Apparel Shopping Mall (인터넷 쇼핑몰의 의류 상품평 내용과 소비자 인식에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze contents of clothing product evaluation statements in the internet shopping mall and to discover consumers' recognition and evaluation of it. The data were collected from 151 consumers' statements in the four internet apparel shopping malls and a questionnaire was developed to measure consumers' recognition of clothing product evaluation statements. The questionnaire was administrated 272 consumers over 18 years old. The results of this study were as follows; First, The contents of clothing product evaluation statements in the internet shopping blog, were divided into three categories which were product, service and consumer buying decision process. Product category include evaluation of clothing product, description of difference between real product and product on the screen, and advice of uses. Service category include quickness and kindness in delivery, store preference for good service. For consumer buying decision process, motivation of purchasing, perceived risk, expression of satisfaction from good buying and canvassing for purchasing were included. Second, consumer recognized that clothing product evaluation statements has function of furnishing information, confirmation of purchasing decision, risk reduction of internet shopping, and interesting entertainment. Consumers also were dependent on product evaluation statements for making purchasing decision. And it was trusted by consumers. This recognition & evaluation were correlated with consumer's clothing product knowledge, involvement, risk perception of internet shopping, experiences of internet shopping. Managerial implications are provided for internet shopping mall.

  • In this paper, we conducted for information search process of users, who have experience to buy paid-application in Appstore, to find out difference of information searching efforts and information sources, reliance on the information in term of attributes of Apps and buyes' innovativenss. As a result, Innovative buyers take a effort to search various information source but they get help buying decision-making supports by own their efforts like searching in category. On the other hand, non-Innovative buyers who search informtion less than Innovative buyers, get information like recommendation from friend and Apps, then they keep those information help buying decision-making supports highly. Besides buyers of Utility Apps search on objective information sources mainly, but those sources have influence on buying decision-making supports. On the other side buyers of Enjoyment Apps consider reliance on the information more than information searching efforts to buying decision-making supports as they get information source like popularity. This research suggests operators of Appstore and app developers how to promote their Apps to users.

A Study on the Influences of IMF, Subjective Social Classes and Clothing Buying Behaviors (IMF 영향도와 주관적 사회계층에 따른 대학생의 의복구매행동에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between consumer's economic environments and clothing buying behaviors. Consumer's economical environments can be identified as the influence of IMF and subjective social classes. And clothing buying behavior can be defined such as clothing buying motives, informants, clothing selective standards, price, patronage store in terms of consumer decision making process. This study was carried out in theoretical and empirical ways. The questionnaire was administered to 375 university students living in seoul during the April, 1998. The results of empirical study were as follows; First, Consumer's individual characteristics are proven to be significantly related to the influence of IMF and subjective social classes. Second, the influence of IMF is proven to be significantly correlated to the clothing buying behavior. Third, the subjective social classes is proven to be partially related to the clothing buying behavior.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand and verify the incentives as an important market environment and to help consumers use them effectively, and consequently to improve the consumer welfare. This study examined the representative incentive, the sales promotions which can effect on the consumer decision making process and current issues of them. For the purpose, a coffee specialty store was hypothesized and the subjects were 20∼30 years old, since the sales promotions can be more effective toward the younger consumers making their decisions low-involvement goods and services. The conclusions can be summarized as follows; Consumers understand the advantages and disadvantages of sales promotion very well, and use them rationally and usefully to maximize their satisfaction. the sales promotions act as incentives in the all steps of decision making processes. Generally, consumers prefer to get things at a good price, so in this survey, the discount coupons and the point accumulative membership had more effect than others. Consumers pointed out controversial issues of the sales promotions as follows: the sales promotions could bring about cost rising and unnecessary and/or impulse buying, and stir up speculative motivation. These are common serious problems in the sales promotions. The sales promotions are very useful tools in promoting sales but not fundamental in the long run. Marketers and manufacturers should keep it in mind that the best way to satisfy the consumers is to keep all things in good quality and moderate price.

Influences of channel assessment on the usage levels of multi-channels by product category in decision making process for purchasing fashion products (패션상품 구매의사 결정과정에서의 상품유형별 채널평가가 멀티채널 이용도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the influences of channel assessments on the usage of multi-channels by product types, and the differences in the usage of multi-channels among product types in buying decision making process for fashion products. Data were collected from 510 consumers in their 20s to 50s with purchasing experiences through multi-channel distribution system and living in Seoul and Kyunggi province; 491 were analyzed after deleting incomplete questionnaires. Factor analysis, multiple regression analysis and one-way ANOVA were used for statistical analysis by using SPSS 18.0. The results were as follows: 5 factors were extracted for channel assessment: utility, accuracy, risk, price benefit and sharing information. Price benefits, utility and sharing information for online channel tended to influence positively on the usage of online channel and online+offline channels. Accuracy and low perceived risk of offline influenced positively on offline and on+offline channel usages. The usage levels of on-line and off-line channels for cosmetics were significantly lower than the usage levels for clothes and accessories on information search, evaluation of alternatives, and purchase stages. Significant differences were also found in the usage levels of multi-channels (on+off-line) on information search and evaluation of alternatives stages. The usage levels of the multi-channels for clothes were the highest followed by those of accessories and cosmetics in order.

Threat Strategy within Organizations: An Empirical Study on Purchasing Decision-Making

  • Threat is one special type of communication whereby one conveys opinion, knowledge, or attitude to another with an intention to influence and modify the latter's opinion or behavior. This research aims at identifying the antecedents and the effectiveness of threats applied in the process of purchasing decision-making. The research model integrates constructs derived from the literature of diverse discipline. The framework suggested explains the relative effects of threats, is tested empirically to verify the impacts on the influenced target's opinions and behaviors in buying centers. Data are collected from CAPM's members in Taiwan, and 208 respondents served as targets in the interpersonal relationships. LISREL findings indicate that threats are effective in winning a target's compliance. Additionally, influencing source's characteristics affect the choice of threats more strongly than target characteristics do. The relative ability of dependence on the source to cause manifest influence is even more significant than that of threats. Overall, the results of this study appear consistent with behavioral theories and research.

A Study on the Factors of the Environment-friendly Agricultural Product Consumption on the Favorability, Purchase Intention, and Recommendation Intention (친환경농산물 소비에 대한 호감도, 구매의도, 추천의도에 영향을 끼치는 요인 연구)

  • The environment-friendly agricultural product market receives consumers' great interests despite relatively few studies focused on consumers' decision making process of the environment-friendly agricultural products. This paper examines what factors influence on consumers' attitude and buying behavior on the environment-friendly agricultural product. In order to find the relative importance of each factor's influence, this study adopts multiple regression method based on the survey results of 500 people with the systematic random sampling. The results showed that consumers' favorable attitude towards the environment-friendly agricultural product were influenced by taste, freshness, food safety, and positive attitudes toward the environment-friendly agricultural product promotion. In addition, consumers' purchase intention was influenced by taste, food safety, environmental concern, and the promotion. Respondents recommend the environment-friendly agricultural product when they believe that the environment-friendly agricultural product had the values of taste, environmental concern, and promotion. Women are more active in buying and recommending the environment-friendly agricultural product; however, the price was not the statistically meaning factor. This study provides empirical data that was used for marketing and increasing the sales of the environment-friendly agricultural product. Future research was advised to examine more thoroughly on the relationships between the promotion efforts and purchase intention and the occasions when the price becomes the issue in the buying decision of the environment-friendly agricultural product.

A Study of the Impact of Display on Decision Making Process of Consumers in Apparel Buying Situation (의복구매시 소비자의 의사결정과정에서 디스플레이의 역할)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the display as an information source use, and to find out the reaction of adult women to dis-play and perceived risk and influence of it in apparel buying. 511 college students, housewives and work-ing women living in Masan, Jinju and Sam-chunpo were selected as samples for this re-search. The result of this research can be sum-marized as follows : 1. Display was in the second place as infor-mation sources use exercising influence on ap-parel buying. The most important imformation sources use was the apparels of other persons. The other's apparels provide valuable aid as an imformation sources use for housewives, and display are important for college students and working women. 2. The ways of response were different ac-cording to the sample. Working women said that looking at the display gives pleasure to them, and they were attracted to sight of dis-play and housewives usually walk into the dis-play room. The point of interest in display were also different according to the samples. 3. All respondent said they perceived some kinds of risks in display. Howsewives reco-gnized social and psycological risk and working women recognized the economic risk and fashionability loss. 4. In apparel buying, college students showed impulsive purchase, but housewives and working women made comparision with other shopping place before they buy it.

  • This study put its major concern in consumer behavior during a purchase of fashion products through the Internet marketing channels. Therefore, it investigated the Internet shopping and tried to find the reasons why clothes shopping through the Internet marketing channels is not popular enough. Then, alternative marketing strategies would be suggested which is accessible from the relationship marketing approach. The study adopted a qualitative research method to implement those purposes. In-depth interviews were conducted with the interviewees who had an experience of buying a fashion merchandise through the Internet or who had such an intention. And the information on stages of decision-making process and actual purchase was obtained by participating in and observing the process. The results revealed stages of decision-making in purchasing a fashion product through the Internet channels, the process of relationship development, and the elements of relationship marketing which affect purchase intention. The elements of relationship marketing to promote a purchase of a clothing product via the Internet marketing channels included convenience; communication and socal experience; sensual information; risk acknowledgement and pursuit for safety; and usage of complexed marketing channels. Based on these, a few strategic points such as remote reality, database of communication basis, strengthening individualized services, and development of complex marketing channels were suggested.

A Study on Consumer's Channel Transition Behavior in the Information Search and Purchase Channel (정보탐색과 구매결정에 있어서 채널이동 소비자들에 대한 연구)

  • This study investigates differences in demographic characteristics, shopping orientation, perceived risk, and satisfaction after purchase among consumer types. This study classifies consumer types according to their channel transition behaviors between the online and offline channels with a focus on the steps of information research and buying decision in buying decision-making process. The four consumer groups are as follows: off-off type (offline research-offline purchase), on-on type (online research-online purchase), on-off type (online research-offline purchase) and on/off-off type (online and offline research-offline purchase), off-on type (offline research-online purchase) and on/off-on type (online and offline research-online purchase). Data were collected from adults over 20 years old who had bought clothes within one year. The questionnaire was carried out from July, 2019 using a professional internet research panel; in addition, 500 sets of useful data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, chi-squared test, ANOVA and Duncan-test using SPSS 21.0. The findings showed significant differences among the classified consumer groups for consumer demographics, shopping orientation, perceived risk, and purchase after satisfaction. The results imply that consumers show a variety of channel transition behaviors based on demographic variables, shopping orientation, and perceived risk. Understanding and adapting to consumer purchase behaviors will allow company distribution channels to be effectively managed and eventually increase consumer satisfaction as well as company sales volume.
