  • Purpose - This study aims to identify the reasons behind the conspicuous consumption of Veblen products, viz. fashion designer wear, diamond and gold jewellery, and high-end cars, to examine how conspicuous consumption varies between Aryan and Dravidian cultures. Research design, data, and methodology - The researchers meticulously review the relevant literature, administered a well-structured questionnaire, and conducted personal interviews on various influential factors relating to the consumption of Veblen products. The convenience sampling technique was used to gather data, with a total sample of 200, equally selected from eight cities of both North and South India the collected data was analyzed through ANOVA and Z-Proportion tests. Results - Indian consumers' conspicuous consumption significantly varies among the Veblen products selected for the study, between the Aryan and Dravidian cultures. Regarding conspicuous consumption of branded accessories, 65 percent of Aryan culture Indians responded positively as against only 45 percent of the Dravidian culture Indians. Conclusions - This ingenious study proffers valuable insights about the conspicuous buying behavior of affluent class consumers in India, which are lucrative for both the corporate sector and academia.

  • This study aims to look at the change in consumer awareness and behavior after Japan's 2013 nuclear power plant's radioactive water leakage and draw implications about them. Findings show that 81% of respondents decreased their consumption of fishery products after the nuclear incident, and kept on showing avoidance of imported fishery products including those from Japan. Also it showed that consumers more importantly considered safety when buying imported fishery products after the nuclear incident. The most common channel of receiving radioactivity safety information on fishery products were TV and online. However, the main reason for decreasing the consumption of fishery products was founded to be based on the inaccuracy of the information provided. However, many people said that they will increase their consumption of all fishery products if provided with accurate radioactivity information. Therefore, if accurate radioactivity information were to be spread effectively to the public, positive consumption rates of fishery products can be shown in the future. The inaccuracy of radioactivity safety information caused the rapid decrease of fishery products consumption in 2013 to be amplified. Therefore, this study showed the importance of the delivery of rapid, accurate and consistent information to consumers.

Data were obtained from 423 online fashion shopping mall consumers who have experiences of buying products or visiting to online fashion shopping mall in Busan, and were analyzed using by factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, path analysis of LISREL 8.53. The results showed online fashion shopping mall attributes were composed of Visual information, Loading speed Space composition, Product assortment, Checkout service, and Help desk. Shopping value perceived by online fashion shopping mall consumers were consisted two factors: Hedonic value and Utility value. Hedonic value and Utility value Perceive by online consumers were influenced by Product assortment, Visual information, Help desk, and Space composition of shopping mall. Additionally, hedonic and utility shopping values perceive by online consumers impacted online purchase intention. Findings suggest that fashion shopping mall attributes mediated by shopping values are important in predicting purchase intention of online shopping mall. Implications are drawn for the information useful to consumer behavior researchers and retailers of online fashion shopping mall.

  • Case-based reasoning (CBR) has been widely used in various areas due to its convenience and strength in complex problem solving. Generally, in order to obtain successful results from CBR, effective retrieval of useful prior cases for the given problem is essential. However, designing a good matching and retrieval mechanism for CBR systems is still a controversial research issue. Most prior studies have tried to optimize the weights of the features or selection process of appropriate instances. But, these approaches have been performed independently until now. Simultaneous optimization of these components may lead to better performance than in naive models. In particular, there have been few attempts to simultaneously optimize the weight of the features and selection of the instances for CBR. Here we suggest a simultaneous optimization model of these components using a genetic algorithm (GA). We apply it to a customer classification model which utilizes demographic characteristics of customers as inputs to predict their buying behavior for a specific product. Experimental results show that simultaneously optimized CBR may improve the classification accuracy and outperform various optimized models of CBR as well as other classification models including logistic regression, multiple discriminant analysis, artificial neural networks and support vector machines.

  • This study was conducted to propose a marketing solution for overseas online direct purchase market customer's relatively low satisfactory level in services provided, compared to that in domestic market. From the investigation, we have obtained the following results. First, relationships between regret level, regret effort, and repetition intention support that attitudes toward purchasing may be different when the regret is settled. Second, consumer's innovativeness is very important as a leading variable for regret. Third, unlike consumer regret previously known to lead dissatisfaction and negative behavior, regret also can cause repetitive purchasing through different regretting processes.

  • Brand image refers to how customers, stakeholders and the market see and recognize the brand. A positive brand image leads to continuous purchases, but a negative brand image is directly linked to consumers' buying behavior, such as stopping purchases, so from the corporate perspective, it needs to be quickly and accurately identified. Currently, methods of investigating brand images include surveys and SNS surveys, which have limited number of samples and are time-consuming and costly. Therefore, in this study, we are going to conduct an emotional analysis of text data on social media by utilizing the machine learning based KoBERT model, and then suggest how to use it for game corporate brand image analysis and verify its performance. The result has proved some degree of usability showing the same ranking within five brands when compared with the BRI Korea's brand reputation ranking.

  • The objective is to recognize the better opportunities from targeted reveal advertising, to show a banner ad to the consumer of online who is most expected to obtain a preferred action like signing up for a newsletter or buying a product. Discovering the most excellent commercial impression, it means the chance to exhibit an advertisement to a consumer needs the capability to calculate the probability that the consumer who perceives the advertisement on the users browser will acquire an accomplishment, that is the consumer will convert. On the other hand, conversion possibility assessment is a demanding process since there is tremendous data growth across different information dimensions and the adaptation event occurs infrequently. Retailers and manufacturers extensively employ the retail services from internet as part of a multichannel distribution and promotion strategy. The rate at which web site visitors transfer to consumers is low for online retail, out coming in high customer acquisition expenses. Approximately 96 percent of web site users concluded exclusive of no shopper purchase[1].This category of conversion rate is collected from the advertising of social media sites and pages that dataset must be estimating and assessing with the concept of big data clustering, which is used to group the particular age group of people along with their behavior. This makes to identify the proper consumer of the production which leads to improve the profitability of the concern.
