Netherlands had suggested a uniform system to standardize and simplify EDI systems relating to the Arrival/Departure, stay, and clearance of ships, persons, and cargoes for the Facilitation of International Maritime Transport to the International Maritime Organization(IMO). Republic of Korea proposed the Framework of XML-based Single Window System for the simplified clearance of ships to the 32nd session of Facilitation Committee of the IMO. Accordingly the authors studied that the XML Infrastructure for Single Window efficiently supports the Single Window service and the business collaboration between business entities of logistics. The proposed XML Infrastructure designs to support the various document format translation and to easily manage. Therefore business entity using the proposed system has the effect of downing the resource and costs on using Single Window.

Not only Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) within a company but also business-to-business integration (B2Bi) should be achieved for companies to collaborate seamlessly through the Internet. There have been great efforts in this area of EAI and B2Bi, resulting in lots of solutions in the market. However, EAI and B2Bi systems have been designed and operated in independent platforms and environments causing a serious problem of integrating EAI and B2Bi systems. In this paper we have proposed a business integration platform for connecting EAI and B2Bi systems in a uniform architecture and also coping with changes in business environments. In the integration platform proposed in this work, collaboration processes between B2B companies can be performed using Web Services technology widely considered as B2B integration platform. Especially, we have defined basic business execution elements based on a thorough analysis of various business integration standards and developed an efficient and extensible business process engine for B2B collaboration process management. A Web-based order processing system is developed for validation of our integration platform. It is expected that the level of B2B collaboration can be enhanced using the integration platform and furthermore it will contribute to more collaborative B2B commerce.

Cluster-based wireless sensor network (WSN) can significantly reduce the energy consumption by data aggregation and has been widely used in WSN applications. However, due to the intrinsic many-to-one traffic pattern in WSN, the network lifetime is generally deteriorated by the unbalanced energy consumption in a cluster-based WSN. Therefore, energy efficiency and network lifetime improvement are two crucial and challenging issues in cluster-based WSNs. In this paper, we propose a Non-Uniform Node Distribution (NUND) scheme to improve the energy efficiency and network lifetime in cluster-based WSNs. Specifically, we first propose an analytic model to analyze the energy consumption and the network lifetime of the cluster-based WSNs. Based on the analysis results, we propose a node distribution algorithm to maximize the network lifetime with a fixed number of sensor nodes in cluster-based WSNs. Extensive simulations demonstrate that the theoretical analysis results determined by the proposed analytic model are consistent with the simulation results, and the NUND can significantly improve the energy efficiency and network lifetime.

In 2003, the Uniform Commercial Code(UCC) which is a kind of model law to unify commercial law between several states in US was amended to use electronic document of title including bill of lading. It is the second following the Australia legislation in 1996. Also, the Korean government amended Commercial Act and made the Presidential Decree for using electronic bill of lading in 2008. In this paper the authors reveal the characteristics of the clause of UCC for electronic bill of lading. The characteristics of the clause are on the technical neutrality of the signature, the possibility of reissuance in alternative medium, and adoption of the concept of "control." It helps to suggest some implications for Korean government authority. The authors suggest the amendment of the Presidential Decree to the Korean government authority to use additionally digital signature authorized by non Korean government such as VeriSign. It will activate the use of electronic bill of lading issued by Korea repositary out of Korea.

High availability and business continuity in the mission critical enterprise environment have been a matter of primary concern. It is desirable to implement replicated servers, duplicated devices and disaster recovery sites so that these issues are accomplished. When that happens, web browser's users may be accessed web server through a specific Uniform Resource Locator. A critical issue arises if web browser's users recklessly change the URL and access into other site. In this case, data integrity between duplicated sites may not be guaranteed. In this paper, we introduce the method of integrating the technologies of user authentication, certificate authority and business continuity and Propose the design and implementation of intelligent service access management.

At a turn of the third millennium the world storms and quickly changes. It became difficult to expect what expects us tomorrow. In article the concept of strategy of mankind's survival in XXI and next centuries, the principles of creation of planetary house of universal civilization for post-industrial world based on spirituality scientific and technological revolutions, ecology, space exploration, economy and world safety are considered. Introduction of uniform universal measurement of currency for the whole world in the form of "power" is offered. Important aspect of a research is theoretical postulate on integrated innovative society. The author puts forward a new paradigm of government on a basis of 5 spirals. "UNIDROIT Principles 2004" focused on an enlargement rather than a revision. An additional Section or Chapter so to speak, which are about, the Authority of a Agents, Third Party Rights, Set-off, Assignment of Rights, Transfer of Obligations and Assignment of Contracts, and Limitation Periods have been added, while the only change of substance made to the 1994 Edition, apart from two paragraphs in the Preamble, and three new provisions in Chapter 1 and 2 which are necessary to adapt the Principles to the needs of electronic contracting. The Principles which have the nature of the restatement of international uniform laws (for example CISG) are continuous exercise. Therefore we should note whether in the future our concerns would be on a additional topics on a improvement of the current text by monitoring the reception of the "UNIDROIT Principles 2004" in practice, and the application by contracting parties. The purposes of the Principles may be classified into three ; the rules of law governing the contract, means of interpreting and supplementing international uniform law or domestic law, or models for national and international legislator. Among them, the function of governing law may be applied by the express choice by the parties or by the implied choice like "general principles of law" or "les mercatoria", and it may be applied in the absence of any choice of law by the parties. Among there importance functions, this writer would like to emphasize the function to supplementing international uniform law instruments. The reason is that the CISG which has been established as an international uniform sales act and to which our country would be a contracting State from March, 2005, needs a lot of gap-filling. For this purpose it is advisable the parties to insert following provisions in their contract. "This contract shall be governed by the CISG, supplemented when necessary by the UNIDROIT Principles 2004" Thus success in practice of the UNIDROIT Principles over the last then years has surpassed the most optimistic expectations. It is hoped that the 2004 Edition of the UNIDROIT Principles will be just as favorably received by legislators, business persons, lawyers, arbitrators and judges and become even better known and more widely used throughout the World.

This paper suggests the“infinite-retailer model”to approximate expected backorders per cycle of the One-warehouse N-retailer distribution system where the warehouse holds back some of the replenishment quantity to satisfy retailer backorders at the end of the cycle through direct shipping to customers. The main objective is to show the functional relationship between the warehouse inventory and the expected backorders per cycle. We illustrate the relationship using a uniform demand case.
