  • This paper suggests energy efficiency which can be the foundation on corporate profit and effective energy management following by change of global climate and of energy-related regulations. Using comparable financial information and information related to energy use, an DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) model has been used to identify energy efficiency with DMU (Decision Making Unit)s which are companies subjected to reduce greenhouse gas emission in 2009. Through this research, different from existing researches, environmental variables which can influence on energy efficiency are identified. The results show as follows. First, most of companies follow IRS, which means scale of economy exists among units so that they have more opportunity to increase efficiency by increasing scale of inputs. Second, this research identified that depending on the difference of environmental characters such as the emission structure and the size of companies, energy efficiency of the companies turns out differently.

  • The purpose of this paper is to estimate production function in the coastal fishing, especially long bag set net fishing and trap fishing using Cobb-Douglas production function with the three main variables: fishing quantity per tonage(WQFP), the number of working persons per tonage(WEMP), and the number of utilized fishing equipments per tonage(WEQU). The statistical results of such estimation reveal that fishing quantity per tonage can be expressed as a function of the number of working persons per tonage and the number of utilized fishing equipments per tonage. The estimated coefficients of WEMP and WEQU are statistically significant and also satisfy the requirements of Cobb-Douglas production function. This study also estimates marginal rate of technical substitution of labor in terms of capital (MRT $S_{LK}$ )in each long bag set net fishing and trap fishing. The resuits of this study show us that trap fishing has the technical characteristic of constant returns to scale(CRS) but long bag net fishing has that of decreassing returns to scale(DRS).

  • In complex industrial world, many companies make every effort to analyze their competition capability through various performance evaluation tools to cope with rapidly changing business environment. Among evaluation tools the balanced scorecard (BSC), put forward by Kaplan and Norton in 1992, is a strategic performance management tool for measuring whether the smaller-scale operational activities of a company are aligned with its larger-scale objectives in terms of vision and strategy. The BSC tool offers a comparative advantage over others to evaluate the objective achievement of a company by linking its strategic objectives with operational KPI. In this paper, we introduce a case that the BSC performance evaluation system was implemented based on product data management and applied it to the business process. Specially, we shows a implementation procedure to derive discipline-specific topics and key performance metrics.

  • The efficient safety estimation for a business should analyze an accident data by considering every possible and potential factor. Thus, we consider several factors to build the safety estimation model to meet fairness and rationality. This paper present the yearly statistic data of accident from KOSHA analyze the data by industry, scale, year of service of a employee, age and other factors; build the safety estimation model for the business based on the accident report derived the analysis. The estimation model is established by the weights for accident type, degree, scale, industry, year of service, and age of the employee derived from AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process).

  • Asian food and the Asian restaurant market have grown rapidly in the international market. It has become one of the major trends in the restaurant industry in the world. However, there has been little attempt to develop a scale for measuring customer's motivation to experience Asian restaurants, and cross-cultural approaches are very rare. From this point of view, this study examined an instrument to measure motivation to visit Asian restaurants developed by Jang and Kim (2015), which was originally developed based on UK customers, by applying the population from another cultural background, Thailand. A total of 308 valid responses were obtained in Thailand. CFA was performed with a Thai sample to test internal and external consistency of the scale with another population, and a comparison was made between UK and Thai customers.

  • The agricultural sector has an important contribution to the economic development of Vietnam in particular and other countries in general. The growth of enterprises in the industry is an important bridge in promoting the economic development of the country. Currently, the policies of the Government of Vietnam always create favorable conditions for enterprises to conduct business, especially enterprises in the agricultural sector. The study aims to assess factors influencing the profitability of listed firms in Vietnam's stock market. Using 40 enterprises in the agricultural industry listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange and the Hanoi Stock Exchange and using advanced econometric modeling, dealing with defects in the regression model, the research results show that large-scale firm has higher economic efficiency than small-scale firm. In addition, a firm with higher use of loan capital is associated with a more efficient firm, reflected in the relatively good debt management ability of enterprises in the agricultural sector. Adversely, growth and age do not have any impact on firm performance. Macroeconomic factors do not impact profitability. Finally, the study has some policy implications for developing agricultural businesses in the case of Vietnam.

  • Economic investigation is one of the main issues regarding the design and production of small-scale structures. This paper concerns the creation, implementation, and economic aspects of the cross-section profile of small-scale structures regarding the dynamic response of the free and forced vibration behavior of spinning nanoscale beams based on big data analysis. According to the financial analysis, the three practical non-uniform functions of cross-sections are compared to the uniform beam in the same weight and the equal material used. The previous studies reported that the uniform beams are more stable and contain a better frequency response based on the mechanical analysis. Still, concerning the economic investigation, which means the considered structures should have equal length and have the same weight in the aspect of material used, the conclusion can be different from the mechanical aspect. Consequently, in the current paper, the dynamic response along with computer technology as well as the big data analysis of the free and forced vibration of the nanobeam regarding the economic shape of the cross-section is scrutinized.

  • This study aims to determine the perceptions of Islamic Financial Cooperative (BMT) managers in the Indonesian BMT Association on the acceptance of core banking technology. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is used because it has simple theoretical characteristics (parsimony) and is supported by data (verifiability). This study develops the TAM model by integrating new variables -perceptions of maqashid sharia, perceptions of economies of scale, perceptions of market structure, and perceptions of technology procurement costs. These new variables are used to measure intention in using technology and actual usage in BMT operations. This study used PLS-SEM with smartPLS 3. The study was conducted in Central Java in six ex-Residency at 35 BMT with 300 respondents consisting of six levels of position level. The research found that maqashid sharia and market structure directly influenced the intention of BMT managers in using core banking technology. This new finding strengthens a theoretical model regarding the role of maqashid sharia in the acceptance of information technology in BMT. In addition, the perception of economies of scale has no significant effect on intention in using technology or its actual usage. The perception variable of technology procurement costs was found to have no significant effect on intention in using technology.

  • All Korean professional engineer′s great joy Is to welcome the Japanese professional engineers and relevant guests to the 1987 Japan-Korea Professional Engineers Joint Convention organized by the Korean Professional Engineers Association. As there exists an effort of blood, sweat and tear behind a succeeded theatrical stage, so an exquisite devotion with drawing up a master plan, investigation, supervision and etc by engineering firms is soaked through every part of huge construction projects and large unit factory buildings. It is over 14 years that the Engineering Service Promotion Law has been enacted by the Ministry of Science and Technology. In the meantime, the domestic engineering (engineering service) have reached a remarkable higher level while the number of engineering firms participating in overseas market has gradually been increasing. From a small scale of under water investigation to a large scale planning of atomic reactor or petrochemical plant, engineering service business can be said "The Software of Total Industry." Engineering service is what is called a higher business which offers specialized engineering know-how and experience. Engineering service compaines offer Its specialized knowledge and experience to government, industry and commerce. Whether the task is to modernize plant equipment, to design a building or to manage construction, an engineering company will develop and implement the most appropriate and cost effective solution. Clients use the engineering service of firm knowing that the engineer′s professional judgement is not influenced or biased by other commercial affiliations. While benefiting from the diverse experience that professional engineers can apply to a specific problem, government and industry also reduce the need for permanent in-house engineering staff. Engineering firms may be specialized or multi-disciplinary.

  • In island and backcountry areas, electrical power is usually supplied by diesel generators. It is difficult for small scale diesel generators to have an economy of scale owing to the usage of fossil fuels to produce electricity. Also, there is a problem of carbon dioxide emissions that brings some environmental pollution to the entire region of the area. For solving those, this paper proposes a design method of autonomous micro-grid to minimize the fossil fuels of diesel generator, which is composed of diesel generator, wind turbine, battery energy storage system and photovoltaic generation system. The proposed method was verified through computer simulation and micro-grid operation system.
