A Study on Present Condition and Educational Improvement Plan of Building Services System (건축설비 관련 현황과 교육면에서의 개선방향 고찰)

  • The education of building services field at university is not enough, although the field has become to be very important in architectural engineering. This lack of education is one of the reason that the level of domestic building services field is lower than that in developed countries. Present conditions of related laws, fields of work after graduation and education at university in building services field have been studied, and education conditions have been investigated divided into four-year architectural engineering course and five-year architecture course. Though building services field has become more important at university education, the number of credits and professor of the field is still small than other fields of architectural engineering. More practical curriculums are necessary to meet the expectation of companies, and it will be one of the method to meet it that criteria of curriculum constitution is according to ABEEK(Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea) in more architectural engineering department.

  • The existing building control and automation systems which have been applied to buildings are provided by many different vendors and each vendor has its own proprietary protocol. There are many problems in system integration since those building control and automation systems belong to each vendor. Also, the problems of cost and space increase, due to the usage of personal computers as the control servers of DDC(Direct Digital Control) in each facility. Those problems mentioned above can be effectively resolved by using XML Web Services and Embedded Web Server. Embedded Web Server and XML Web Services are technologies emerging out of the IT industries and there are many researches to apply them into many fields. In this paper, Embedded Web Server and XML Web Services are proposed to be used in building control and automation system to resolve problems in building system integration.

  • The performances of the building service equipment relay on the individual superintendent's share for the assessment of performance, fault detection, deterioration diagnosis of the building service equipment. A major use of building energy management system(BEMS) is for monitoring plant and building's energy consumption. National building management system (N-BMS) presented in this study links buildings into a network group in order to monitor and control the buildings. How to construct the N-BMS was considered to save energy resource and to conserve performance of building service equipment. The FEMIS, facility, energy/environmental management & information system, for building service offer management process integrated with BAS, FMS and EMS and so on.

  • With the development of IoT technology, the scope of object controls and sensor information has expanded and services have been diversified. Energy saving efforts in buildings with high energy consumption is increasing, and services are being extended over life safety, security and convenience. However, Existing smart building services are dependent on IoT devices and are difficult to change or expand. In this paper, we have implement of workflow based smart building services to modify or extend services according to user's needs.

  • The sharp and highly fluctuating characteristics of the building services noises cause much psychological discomfort to dwellers. To evaluate the noises effectively. it is necessary to develope an evaluation procedure which can well reflect the psychological influences of the noises. In this study, to develope the effective evaluation procedure for the building services noise. Korean vocabularies which can express the feelings for them was investigated. And then, through a series of psycho-acoustical experiments for various housing equipment noises. we analyzed psychological factors that influence to subjective feelings of persons.

  • In order to understand interaction between building users' occupant performance and building maintenance performance of maintenance management personnel, actual data from maintenance activities of buildings were analyzed. Also, using building defect customer complaint data reported by building user, satisfaction data on building maintenance services of building users and service response time of maintenance management personnel, a method for evaluating interaction of buildings with the same purpose and same size was proposed. Throughout analysis, average number of occurrences per unit area per year for the mechanical complaints in complex building were presented. In addition, using building users' satisfaction with facility management services, attitude of responding to business obstacles, number of occurrences per unit area per year of mechanical complaints and complaint processing speed, interaction was comprehensively identified and compared.

  • It is difficult for a superintendent or an operator of building service systems and equipment to decide the reasonable time for management of himself due to the shortage of his specialty for repair or replacement of a part of or whole equipment. But The reliable life expectancies for various building service equipment have not been prepared yet. This study shows the difference of optimal economic life and the decrease of running cost and energy consumption according to management level of the building equipment by the LCC analysis. The numerical model for building HVAC system was composed and analyses were performed for several parameters with management.
