Effect of Modified Livecommercescapes on Repurchase Intention: Mediating Roles of Perceived Usefulness and Flow (수정된 라이브커머스 스케이프가 재구매의도에 미치는 영향: 지각된 유용성과 플로우의 매개역할 )

  • Purpose: This study used the SOR model to analyze the impact of live commerce's modified livecommercescape factors (interactivity, presence, playfulness, convenience, and broadcaster characteristics) on repurchase intention through usefulness and flow. Research design, data, and methodology: 1,149 respondents with live commerce purchase experience were collected through an online survey, and the collected data was analyzed with SPSS 25.0 and SmartPLS 4.0 statistical package programs. Results: Presence and playfulness were found to have the highest influence on flow and usefulness. In particular, Presence and broadcaster characteristics were found to be the factors that had the greatest influence on flow. Playfulness was found to have the greatest impact on usefulness, and two-way communication was found to have the lowest influence among the five servicescape factors. Broadcaster characteristics also affect flow but not usefulness, and convenience only affects usefulness and does not affect flow. Flow shows results that affect usefulness and repurchase intention. Conclusion: Our findings provide a richer understanding of causal relationships within the SOR framework, demonstrating that broadcaster characteristics, two-way communication, presence, and playfulness can influence flow, perceived usefulness, and, consequently, consumer purchasing behavior.

An Evaluation of Broadcaster Licensing Policy in Korea since 1990 (1990년 이후 방송사업자 인허가정책에 대한 평가)

  • This study analyzed the trends of broadcaster licensing policy during 1990-2001 in Korea. It is to seek the answers about how the examination standards and procedures applied to broadcaster licensing has been changed for the last decade. For the purpose this study inquired six cases such as private broadcasting licence (1990 October), cable TV program provider licences(1993 July), cable TV system operator licences(1994 January), private local broadcaster licences(1994 July), satellite broadcaster licence(2000 December) and cable TV home shopping channel licences(2001 March). It examined the degree of specification and measurement of the standards based upon the government white paper; average points per item, average points per quantitative item, and average points per qualitative item etc. The government hadn't opened the standards and procedures how it licensed broadcasters until 1990 and the uncertain attitude brought distrust on the government broadcasting policy. The first white paper about broadcaster licensing was made in 1994 after cable TV broadcaster licensing was finished. The results indicated that Korean broadcasting licensing policy rapidly developed in the dimension of transparency from 'a secret room policy' to 'a sunshine policy' for the last decade. But it still needs improvement in the dimension of fairness of examination. Now one of the main distrust is the ratio that the one of qualitative examination standards are much more than the qualitative one.

  • Due to the deployment of various wireless networks originating from CDMA, GSM, and WLAN, it became very convenient to exchange information from one place to another. As compared with the traditional environments for one-way information distribution based on fixed radio frequency bands, the convenient wireless network environments will bring about many changes in positioning technologies based on global navigation satellites. Among the many changes to come, the reconfigurable receiver network is one of the most attractive concepts since it can be tailored to a specific application area among networked robots, formation flying, bridge monitoring, and traffic monitoring. As an initial study to develop a reconfigurable receiver network, this paper deals with the design and implementation of the key elements of the reconfigurable receiver netowork; server, broadcaster, and client. In the designed receiver network, a sever receives and decodes measurements from a reference receiver installed at a known location, a broadcaster processes and transfers the messages from servers to clients and manages connections with servers and clients, a client receives the messages from the broadcaster and performs differential positioning. A real-time experiment result is demonstrated to validate the functionalities of each network element.

A Study of the risk and reward structure in the copyright contract between terrestrial broadcasting and production company (방송사와 외주제작사간 저작권계약에 나타난 위험과 보상구조 연구)

  • Broadcaster and production studio inevitably take the risk in Korea because the outsourced drama is contracted before produced. However, it is important for both parties to share risk and reward. This study seeks to assess the fairness of the copyright contract between broadcaster and production studio by examining whether they both have the balanced risk and reward structure. For the study, revenue and cost elements with their amounts are identified, which come from TV commercials, oversea sales, the secondary windows, sponsorship, and product placement. Next, the revenue and COGS (Cost of goods sold) of broadcaster and studio are estimated for both cases of when drama becomes successful or not. The analysis reveals that the current copyright agreement allows broadcaster hold low risk but high reward whilst production studio takes high risk low reward. However, the result doesn't imply that government intervention is justified because demand and supply determine the negotiation power in a free economy.

Interactive Virtual Studio & Immersive Viewer Environment (인터렉티브 가상 스튜디오와 몰입형 시청자 환경)

  • In this paper, we introduce a novel virtual studio environment where a broadcaster in the virtual set interacts with tele-viewers as if they are sharing the same environment as participants. A tele-viewer participates physically in the virtual studio environment by a dummy-head equipped with video "eyes" and microphone "ears" physically located in the studio. The dummy head as a surrogate of the tole-viewer follows the tele-viewer's head movements and views and hears through the dummy head like a tele-operated robot. By introducing the tele-presence technology in the virtual studio setting, the broadcaster can not only interact with the virtual set elements like the regular virtual studio environment but also share the physical studio with the surrogates of the tele-viewers as participants. The tele-viewer may see the real broadcaster in the virtual set environment and other participants as avatars in place of their respective dummy heads. With an immersive display like HMD, the tele-viewer may look around the studio and interact with other avatars. The new interactive virtual studio with the immersive viewer environment may be applied to immersive tele-conferencing, tele-teaching, and interactive TV program productions.program productions.

  • This study makes an evaluation whether compliance on the web accessibility of domestic broadcasters site is observed to some degree. The compliance rate is estimated by six guidelines provided in KWA-H 4.0 automatically assessed tool. While the compliance rate of the broadcaster web accessibility is the highest in 'open new window' by 80.2% among six guidelines, the item of 'markup error prevention' demonstrated the lowest level by 36.2%.

  • The existing wireless village broadcasting systems use the method to connect to village broadcasting system using wire/wireless telephone to announce the important notices, public relations, and disater status. This type of systems have the problems that if broadcaster is facing rough going or forget the announcement time, it is impossible to inform village people important contents, urgent disaster status, evacuation method. This paper describes internet based village broadcasting system using mobile App to solve these problems. Broadcaster can save the voice and send the voice to App server using the mobile App to activate that voice specific day and time. This mobile App system can improve the efficiency and customer satisfaction of village broadcasting system.

  • As a result of broadcasters' websites, there were more reports during the typhoon Bolaven/Tembin in 2012 than in 2002 and 2003. Checking related press releases of each broadcaster on NAVER, YTN reports are 3 times more than KBS. Considering great technology progress in the Internet and smart phone user environment compared to the past, it is thought to be rather regretful in that KBS has been the supervising broadcaster over Korean disaster. As a result of daily reports, the year 2002 typhoon Rusa was reported from the date of its arrival on Korean Peninsular to 3 days, but the information required to be provided for disaster prevention before its arrival was too scarce. 2003 typhoon Maemi was reported as many times as the 2002 typhoon, but its information was provided before its arrival. This is meaningful because the information provision was intended for disaster prevention unlike the past. In 2012, the number of weather forecast broadcast on the typhoon Bolaven/Tembin increased greatly compared to 2002 and 2003. This was also determined to be due to abundant information provided by broadcasters and the Internet portal sites as a result of great progress in Korea internet industry.
