Effects of Cricket Supplements of the Chicken Meats and Its Eggs (귀뚜라미 첨가 사료가 계육과 계란의 성분에 미치는 영향)

  • Chemical characteristics of the cricket, Gryllus bimaculatus, were investigated in total composition, amino acid composition, fatty acid composition and mineral components. After the treatment of 0.4% of G. bimaculatus in the chicken feed, the changes of fatty acid composition in the chicken meat and egg were also estimated. As the result, saturated fatty acid, especially palmitic acid, decreased 4% and unsaturated fatty acids, linoleic aced and arachidonic acid, increased 12 and 23%, respectively, compared with those of control. In addition, there was a small increase in Eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA). The sensory test of the chicken meat resulted in increased flavor, brightness and yellow color. The sensory scores of G. bimaculatus egg in the point of taste resulted in somewhat better estimate than control. These results are appear to be stemmed from fatty acids of cricket.

  • In this paper, to control the existing headlamp control system using steering wheel angle more efficiently and more actively, image processing algorithm which improved the detection rate of lane at night based on camera was suggested. And to recognize road lane more clearly in the conditions of low illumination, new algorithms were developed in the aspects of improving brightness, extracting clear lane edge and using the characteristics of lane. Through this research, it turned out that lane detection ability by using the normalized stretching, angular mask and expected-area scan have good performance in the night compare to existing algorithms.

  • This paper describes the development of integrated head and eye tracker system. Vision based head tracker is performed and it has 7mm error in 300mm translation. The epi-polar method and point matching are used for determining a position of head and rotational degree. High brightness LEDs are installed on helmet and the installed pattern is very important to match the points of stereo system. Eye tracker also uses LED for constant illumination. A Position of gazed object(3m distance) is determined by pupil tracking and eye tracker has 1~5 pixel error. Integration of result data of each tracking system is important. RS-232C communication is applied to integrated system and triggering signal is used for synchronization.

  • Image coding based on fractal theory presents highly compressed image. In this paper, we discuss about compression of Image using HV partition method. HV partition scheme devides the image adaptively in horizontal and vertical axis. And for reducing the enconding time for the domain-range comparison, we use classification scheme, which uses the order of brightness of the rectangular portion of the image. This paper focused on the technique to reduce coding time which is a problem in traditional fractal compression by adaptive selection of image and its classification method.

  • In this paper, we propose an infrared image based human victim recognition method for a search and rescue robot in dark environments, like general disaster situations. For recognizing a human victim, an infrared camera on a RGB-D camera, Microsoft Kinect, is used. The contrast and brightness of the infrared image are first improved by histogram equalization, and the noise on the image is removed by morphological operation and Gaussian filtering. For recognizing a human victim, the binarization and blob labeling methods are applied to the improved image. Finally, for verifying the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method, an experiment for human victim recognition is carried out in a dark environment.

  • Recently, a demand of the digital dimmer system is increasing steadily, but domestic research is not sufficient to the expectation. In this paper, a digital dimmer equipment is developed and resented to compose a system. Digital dimmer system compose console and dimmer rack. Console controls of user interface and a total system, and dimmer rack controls brightness of lighting equipment by a way of phase angle control with each illumination level to get from console.

A Study on an Automatic Multi-Focus System for Cell Observation

  • This study is concerned with the mechanism and structure of an optical microscope and an automatic multi-focus algorithm for automatically selecting sharp images from multiple foci of a cell. To obtain precise cell images quickly, a z-axis actuator with a resolution of $0.1{\mu}m$ was designed to control an optical microscope Moreover, a lighting control system was constructed to select the color and brightness of light that best suit the object being viewed. Cell images are captured by the instrument and the sharpness of each image is determined using Gaussian and Laplacian filters. Next, cubic spline interpolation and peak detection algorithms are applied to automatically find the most vivid points among multiple images of a single object. A cancer cell imaging experiment using propidium iodide staining confirmed that a sharp multipoint image can be obtained using this microscope. The proposed system is expected to save time and effort required to extract suitable cell images and increase the convenience of cell analysis.

  • This study to implement properties such as high brightness, reliability, lower power consumption and long lifetime indoor illumination control visible light communication system that with LED used by illuminations. It has probability presently to apply many application field like ubiquitous.   • This paper focuses on the Current-Voltage concurrent control method devoted to the multiple LED (light-emitting diode) string driver. Isolated DC to DC converter with cascaded chopping switch is proposed for smart lighting system such as light with sensor or back light unit of display, which need to control the current of parallel connected multiple LED stings and regulate DC voltage for micro controller for brightness control. The proposed circuit regulates the current of parallel connected multiple LED strings and additional DC voltage output simultaneously. To verify the performance, experimental results are presented based on the prototype board. 5V, 1A voltage mode electric load and two LED strings with different forward voltages are used for output loads. 23W output power is achieved and measured efficiency is in the range of 85%-87%
