윤하중 시험과 유한요소해석을 통한 강상판 교면포장의 거동분석 연구 (An Evaluation of Orthotropic Steel Bridge Deck Pavement Behavior Using Wheel Load Testing and 3D Finite Element Analysis)

  • PURPOSES: The objective of this study is to analyze and evaluate the behavior of orthotropic steel bridge deck pavement using three-dimensional finite element analysis and full-scale wheel load testing. METHODS: Since the layer thickness and material properties used in the bridge deck pavement are different from its condition, it is very difficult to measure and access the behavior of bridge deck pavement in the field. To solve this problem, the full-scale wheel load testing was conducted on the PSMA/Mastic bridge deck pavement and the deflection of bridge deck and horizontal tensile strain on top of pavement were measured under the loading condition. Three-dimensional finite element analysis was conducted to predict the behavior of bridge deck pavement and the predicted deflection and tensile strain values are compared with measured values from the wheel loading testing. RESULTS: Test results showed that the predicted deflections are 10% lower than measured ones and the error between predicted and measured horizontal tensile strain values is less than 2% in the critical location. CONCLUSIONS: The fact indicates that the proposed the analysis is found to be accurate for estimating the behavior of bridge deck pavements.

  • This study is intended to propose a precast bridge deck system, which has ribbed loop joints between the decks and lacks internal tendons to improve the workability of existing precast deck system. A composite bridge deck specimen was fabricated using the proposed precast deck system, and static and fatigue load tests were conducted to evaluate the structural behavior and the crack pattern of the deck. Leakage test of the deck joints was also conducted and finite element analysis was carried out to compare with the test results.

  • In the conventional reinforced-concrete bridge deck, concrete and steels are likely to be deteriorated and corroded under the influence of noxious environment. To cope with these problems caused in the conventional reinforced-concrete bridge deck, pultruded composite bridge deck, called Delta Deck, is developed. In this paper, local deflection and fatigue characteristics of Delta Deck for DB24 truck load are evaluated through analysis and experiments.

  • In the conventional reinforced-concrete bridge deck, concrete and steels are likely to be deteriorated and corroded under the influence of noxious environment. To cope with these problems caused in the conventional reinforced-concrete bridge deck, pultruded composite bridge deck having light weight, high strength, corrosion resistence and durability is developed. Based on the previous study, Pultruded composite bridge deck is designed. For the DB24 truck load finite element analysis is performed to verify whether it meets both strength and serviceability design criteria. For the fabricated and assembled deck panel, structural testings are conducted. This paper present structural details and field application and testing results of composite bridge deck are presented. of composite bridge deck.

  • To substitute conventional reinforced-concrete bridge deck, glass composite precast bridge deck - Delta Deck/sup TM/, which possesses advantages of light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance and durability, is developed for the DB24 truck load. Pultruded composite bridge deck is designed and fabricated. To verify serviceability and structural safety, finite element analysis, structural testing such as flexural test, local fatigue test, flexural fatigue test and field tests are conducted. In this paper structural characteristics of developed deck and its field application in Korea is presented.

  • Due to many advantages such as light weight, fast installation, high durability, composite bridge deck is considered to be one of the promissing alternatives to concrete bridge deck. The paper presents procedures of finite element analysis and laminate design for composite bridge deck of triangular shape for DB24 load. After design of the section glass reinforced composite deck tube of double triangular section with 200mm profile was fabricated with pultrusion and the procedure are presented.

  • The function of diaphragms at abutments and piers of prestressed concrete (PSC) box girder train bridge is to transfer forces from the superstructure onto bearings or column and to stiffen the superstructure cross-section against in-plane deformation. Due to large stress disturbance at diaphragm, the design for the diaphragm using conventional design method is relatively irrational than designs for other structual members. And, due to contribution to boundary condition of deck slab by the diaphragm, the behavior of deck slab near the diaphragm is different from behavior of the deck slab obtained from two dimensional analysis of the bridge, which is basis far the design of deck slab. In this paper, three dimensional behavior of deck slab near diaphragm of PSC box girder train bridge constructed by the precast span method are analyzed by using three dimensional finite element modeling. Then, strut-and-tie model is applied to design the diaphragm of PSC box girder train bridge. The modeling techniques in this paper can be applied effectively to examine the causes of cracks at deck slab near diaphragm and to design diaphragm rationally.

  • 본 논문은 하중재하시 강상판교의 방수층과 교면포장에서 발생하는 거동을 유한요소해석을 통하여 분석하였다. 포장표면에 연직방향으로 작용하는 차량하중과 수평방향으로 작용하는 차량의 제동하중의 크기에 따른 포장체와 방수시트에 발생되는 응력을 산정하였다. 그리고 강상판 두께 및 강성. 포장층 두께, 차량제동하중, 온도 등의 변수가 포장체의 응력변화에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대하여 분석하였다. 방수층의 전단응력은 강상판의 두께가 얇아지고 강성이 감소할수록 증가하였으며, 강상판의 두께가 150mm이상의 경우와 탄성계수가 $2{\times}10^{5}MPa$이상의 경우에는 그 영향이 미비하였다 또한 교면 포장의 두께가 얇아지고 온도가 낮아질수록 방수층의 전단응력이 증가하였다. 포장체 하부에서 발생하는 인장변형률은 고온에서 최대가 되었으며 두께가 증가할수록 감소하였다.

  • Guss asphalt used in pavement of a steel deck bridge may cause severe stress and displacement on the bridge as it is treated using very high temperatures ranging from $220^{\circ}C$ to $260^{\circ}C$. Therefore, it is critical to estimate the thermal effect of Guss asphalt on the steel deck bridge before the width and pattern of the unit portion are decided to minimize impact. In this study, introduce a new analysis method styled the Heat source of equivalent of the cable stayed bridge were conducted to verify the feasibility of numerical value analysis by comparing the results with the data measured. The thermal effects of Guss asphalt on the steel deck bridge according to temperature changes were also studied.

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the optimum thickness of High Performance Concrete bridge deck pavement. The application of High Performance Concrete bridge deck pavement with micro-silica was introduced to north America in the early 1980's. In order to decide the optimum thickness of High Performance Concrete bridge deck pavement, we conducted Finite Element Method analysis with Incheon Grand Bridge constructed by SAMSUNG E&C. From the FEM results, a thickness of five centimeters of High Performance Concrete bridge deck pavement with micro-silica is considered as a resonable value compared with the conventional asphalt bridge deck pavement.
