  • The adhesion strength of two konds of solid propellants(primary propellant/secondary propellant) was studied by coating agent of adhesion composition composed of organic solvent, curing agent, and cure catalyst. The coating agent using FeAA, cure catalyst, resulted propellant breaking at more 0.14 wt% and interface breaking at less 0.10 wt%. The TPB cure catalyst of confirmed the result of the interface breaking immediately after curing of the secondary propellant. In addition, the coating agent using TPB was found to increase the adhesion strength between the primary propellant and the secondary propellant over time.

  • the change of physical properties (thickness, weight, air permeability) and mechanical properties(abrasion resistance breaking load and displacement) of samples were determined after heat exposure by a RPP tester. The effect of exposure time and heat flux intensity on the changes and the relationship between physical properties and mechanical properties were investigated. FR treated cotton Kevlar/PBI and Nomex with different structureal characteristics were chosen for specimens. The changes of physical properties and mechanical properties were calculated based on their initial values before heat exposure. The longer exposure time and the high heat flux intensity the more changes of those properties. Heat flux intensity was more effective on the changes, The showed to be affected by an interplay of shrinkage and pyrolysis products loss. The changes of thickness and abrasion resistance showed to be higher for plain weave fabric and those of air permeabiliyt and breaking load and displacement for twill weave fabric. While FR treated cotton which have high RPP value experienced serious and detrimental changes after heat exposure Kevlar/PBI which has low RPP value showed no high changes. In conclusion it could be confirmed that when total performance of a protective clothing is estimated retention capability of physical and mechanical properties after heat exposure as well as RPP value must be considered.

  • The purpose of this paper is to present a method to estimate the storage life of propellant bag for degradation of breaking load with storage time by using gamma process model. The nitrogen compound generated by natural decomposition of propellants degrades the breaking load of propellant bag with time. The statistical distributions of condition and lifetime with time were shown from the results of accelerated life test of propellant bag cloth at $80^{\circ}C$. It was found that the use of median for life was highly appropriate and the $B_1$ or $B_5$ life should be selectively applied to the quality assurance policy.

  • The effect of pulp consistency on the deinking properties in the ozone deinking of ONP was investigated in order to develop the environmentally friendly deinking method. The pulp consistency and ozone treatment time were varied for this purpose. Higher pulp consistency during ozone treatment gave better ink removal efficiency than the conventional deinking method. In was also found that the increase of pulp consistency can decrease the ozone treatment time which can meet the deinking quality. WRV of ozone deinked pulp obtained at 10% and 30% of pulp consistencies was lower than those of the conventional deinking method. However, the higher pulp consistency during ozone treatment improved WRV. Highest brightness was obtained at the ozone treatment condition of 30% pulp consistency and 10 minutes. The lower brightness at the other ozone treatment condition should be originated from the excessive decrease of ink particle size and then decrease of true ink removal efficiency. Scott bond was increased with the increase of pulp consistency and treatment time. However, the improvement of breaking length with ozone treatment was no significant.

  • The effects of pellet moisture content on physical properties (expansion ratio, density and breaking strength) of vacuum-puffed Yukwa (non-oil puffed Yukwa) were investigated in this study. The Yukwa was made from the waxy rice steeped at 25 and $30^{\circ}C$ for 3, 5 and 10 days with pellet drying times (6, 8 and 10.5 hr). As the drying time increased from 6 to 10.5 hr at $50^{\circ}C$, the highest value of pellet moisture content (29.4%) was found in the samples made from the steeped waxy rice at $25^{\circ}C$ for 5 days after 6 hr drying, while the lowest value (16.3%) was found at $25^{\circ}C$ for 3 days after 10.5 hr drying. Both redness and yellowness values of vacuum-puffed Yukwa increased as the drying time increased. The expansion ratio of Yukwa was greatly affected by drying time, ranging from 2.07 (26.8% pellet moisture content) to 7.01 (24.0% pellet moisture content). From the data, it can be concluded that the pellet moisture content had a significant influence on the physical characteristics of vacuum-puffed Yukwa. With vacuum puffing condition of 3 min heating and 2 min puffing, the pellets with about 25% moisture content showed higher expansion ratio, and lower density and breaking strength.

  • The effect of wave and current interactions on irregular wave transformation over a submerged elliptic shoal is investigated based on numerical simulations of the Vincent and Briggs experiment [Vincent, C.L., Briggs, M.J., 1989. Refraction-diffraction of irregular waves over a mound. Journal of Waterway, Port, Coastal and Ocean Engineering, 115(2), pp. 269-284]. The numerical simulations are conducted by a combination of REF/DIF S(a wave model) and SHORECIRC(a current model) and a time dependent phase-resolving wavecurrent model, FUNWAVE. In the simulations, the breaking-induced currents defocus waves behind the shoal and bring on a wave shadow zone that shows relatively low wave height distributions. The computed results of the combined model system agree better with the measurements than the computed results obtained by neglecting wave-current interaction do. In addition, the results of FUNWAVE show a good agreement with the measurements. The agreement indicates that it is necessary to take into account the effect of breaking-induced current on wave refraction when wave-breaking occurs over a submerged shoal.

  • Regular waves were generated in a wave flume under perfect reflection condition to evaluate performance of three CFD models of CADMAS-SURF, olaFlow, and KIOSTFOAM. The experiments and numerical simulations were carried out for three different conditions of non-breaking, breaking of standing waves, and breaking of incident waves. Among the three CFD models, KIOSTFOAM showed best performance in reproducing the experimental results. Although the run time was reduced by using CADMAS-SURF, its computational accuracy was worse than KIOSTFOAM. olaFlow was the fastest model, but active wave absorption at the wave generation boundary was not satisfactory. In addition, the model excessively dissipated wave energy when wave breaking occurred.

  • The experiment of unsteady rip current generated at the successive ends of breaking wave crests of honeycomb pattern waves was conducted in a laboratory wave basin, and its time-varying evolution was observed by using ortho-rectified images. The present experiment utilized the generation of a quasi nodal line of the honeycomb-pattern waves formed by out-of-phase motion of two piston-type wavemakers arranged in the transverse direction, instead of the original honeycomb pattern waves which are generated when two wave trains propagate with slightly different wave directions. The velocities of rip current were measured by using the LSPIV (Large-Scale Particle Image Velocimetry) technique. As a result, the unsteady rip current was generated between successive ends of wave crests, and evolved with its shear fluctuations in this experiment. Also, the time series of LSPIV velocity of the unsteady rip current showd its short component due to waves and its long component due to wave-induced currents.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effects of age of hen and oviposition time on egg weight, egg shell quality and e88 shape index in White Leghorn laying hens. The data were collected from 150 laying hens for about 4 months from September 1, 1986 to January 6, 1987. The results obtained from this study were summarized as follows; The percentage of the eggs produced before noon was decreased and that of the eggs produced after noon was increased as the hen gets older. Egg weight was increased rapidly to 270 days of age but after 270 days of age the rate of egg weight increase was slowly downed. The egg shell thickness became thinner and egg shell breaking strength was reduced and egg shape index was increased as the hen gets older. The egg weight was decreased as the oviposition time was proceeded and the regression coefficients of egg weight on oviposition time were -0.6788--0.4170, which means that the egg weight was decreased 0.4170-0.6788g per one hour delay of oviposition time. Egg shell thickness was increased 0. 0.00377-0.00643mm and egg shell breaking strength improved 0.0287-0.034kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ per one hour delay of oviposition time. But it seems that there was no relationship between the oviposition time and the egg shape index.
