  • A fin of finite width with infinitely small thickness is assumed to be placed horizontally between two horizontal parallel plates of infinite extension in the exactly central position. The lower plate and the half of the upper plate are kept at a constant lower temperature, and the remaining upper plate is kept at a constant higher temperature. The fin is also kept at a constant temperature (variable). Steady-state two-dimensional laminar natural convection is analyzed as a problem of boundary value under a boundary-fitted conformal mapping system, using a spectral finite difference scheme, with a condition of doubly-connectedness. The steady-state solution is obtained as a limit of the transient solution.

  • Heat engine and fluid machinery in the plant have to linked with various ducts network and the corresponding design have to be concerned about effectiveness and stability of system of plant. To optimum control and design system concerning stability, economization, operating effectiveness we have to exact analysis flow properties of a duct applying to fluid machinery, heat exchanger, cooling machine, air conditioning equipment. therefore, it is necessary to research the duct, heat transfer equipment, for increasing overall effectiveness of air conditioning system by suggesting basic data of the duct resulting from organic research. So we can contribute to technical development of the duct. In case of speeding up the flow rate of the duct, lots of wave velocity components are occurred the value of boundary layer resulting from developing the boundary layer at both walls of duct.

  • An analysis on the steady-state has been made of flow of a compressible fluid rapidly-rotating in a pipe. The flow is induced by an small arbitrary azimuthally-varying thermal forcing added on the basic state of rigid body isothermal rotation. The system Ekman number is assumed to be very small value. Analytic solutions have been obtained for axisymmetric and non-axisymmetric types, in which the axisymmetric solution comes from the azimuthally-averaged wall boundary condition and the non-axisymmetric solution from fluctuating wall boundary condition.

  • HVDC converter station consists of a number of noise sources such as converter transformer, ac filter, cooling system and so on. In this paper, we analyzed the simulation results of the outdoor acoustic noise characteristics for HVDC converter station. It shows that maximum noise level in boundary of HVDC converter station exceeds regulation value. The main factors in generating maximum noise level are ac filter and converter transformer. Then we applied some soundproof countermeasure in HVDC converter station. Shielding wall is enough to reduce transformer noise level but not enough to reduce ac filter noise level. In case of ac filter, soundproof building is effective in satisfying noise level regulation in boundary of HVDC converter station. In addition, we also studied effects of season, soundproof woods, ground.

  • The aim of this paper is to analyze the phonetic features for disguised voice. In this paper we examined the features such as phonation types, pitch range, speech rate, intonation type and boundary tones etc. So the result of the analysis is as follows. : $\circled1$ Phonation types are very important manner of disguised voice for male subjects. $\circled2$ Pitch range and average of pitch value is very important cue for speaker verification. $\circled3$ pitch contour, speech rate and boundary tones can be a secondary cue for speaker verification.

  • This paper presents a method of seismic analysis for a cylindrical liquid storage structure on horizontally layered half-space considering the effects of the interior fluid and exterior soil medium in the frequency domain. the horizontal and rocking motions of the structures are included in this study. The fluid motion is expressed in terms of analytical velocity potential function which can be obtained by solving the boundary value problem including the sloshing behavior of the fluid as well as deformed configuration of the structure. The effect of the fluid is included in the equation of motion as the impulsive added mass and a frequency-dependent convective added mass along the nodes on the wetted boundary with structure. The soil medium is presented using the 3-D axisymmetric finite elements and dynamic infinite elements. The present method can be applied to the structures embedded in ground as well as on ground since it models the soil medium directly as well as the structure. For the purpose of vertification dynamci characteristics of a tank on homogeneous half-space is analyzed. Comparison of the present results with those by others shows good agreement.

  • Variational method has played an important role in solving problems of uniqueness and existence of the nonlinear works as well as analysis. It will also be extremely useful for researchers in all branches of natural sciences and engineers working with non-linear equations economy, optimization, game theory and medicine. Recently, the existence of infinitely many weak solutions for some non-local problems of Kirchhoff type with Dirichlet boundary condition are studied [14]. Here, a suitable method is presented to treat the elliptic partial derivative equations, especially (p(x), q(x))-Laplacian-like systems. This kind of equations are used in the study of fluid flow, diffusive transport akin to diffusion, rheology, probability, electrical networks, etc. Here, the existence of infinitely many weak solutions for some boundary value problems involving the (p(x), q(x))-Laplacian-like operators is proved. The method is based on variational methods and critical point theory.

  • In this paper, we investigate the existence and uniqueness of solutions to a new class of integro-differential equation boundary value problems (BVPs) with ㄒ-Hilfer operator. Our problem is converted into an equivalent fixed-point problem by introducing an operator whose fixed points coincide with the solutions to the given problem. Using Banach's and Schauder's fixed point techniques, the uniqueness and existence result for the given problem are demonstrated. The stability results for solutions of the given problem are also discussed. In the end. One example is provided to demonstrate the obtained results

  • In this work, a new approach is developed for dynamic analysis of a composite beam with an interply crack, based on finite element solution of partial differential equations with the use of the COMSOL Multiphysics package, allowing for fast and simple change of geometric characteristics of the delaminated area. The use of COMSOL Multiphysics package facilitates automatic mesh generation, which is needed if the problem has to be solved many times with different crack lengths. In the model, a physically impossible interpenetration of the crack faces is prevented by imposing a special constraint, leading to taking account of a force of contact interaction of the crack faces and to nonlinearity of the formulated boundary value problem. The model is based on the first order shear deformation theory, i.e., the longitudinal displacement is assumed to vary linearly through the beam's thickness. The shear deformation and rotary inertia terms are included into the formulation, to achieve better accuracy. Nonlinear partial differential equations of motion with boundary conditions are developed and written in the format acceptable by the COMSOL Multiphysics package. An example problem of a clamped-free beam with a piezoelectric actuator is considered, and its finite element solution is obtained. A noticeable difference of forced vibrations of the delaminated and undelaminated beams due to the contact interaction of the crack's faces is predicted by the developed model.

  • Molten zone shape of pulse laser welding is affected by welding conditions such as beam power, beam speed, irradiation time, pulse frequency, etc. and is divided into conduction type and keyhole type. It is necessary to design heat source model for irradiation of laser beam in the pulse laser welding. Shape variables and the maximum energy density value of the heat source model are different depending on the molten zone shape. In this paper, pulse laser welding simulation for joining of cylindrical part and circular cover was carried out. The heat source model for pulse laser beam with circular path was applied to the heat input boundary condition, radiative and conductive heat transfer were considered for the thermal boundary condition. For each phase, thermal and mechanical properties according to temperature were also applied to analysis. Analytical results were in good agreement with the molten zone size of specimen under the same welding conditions. So, the reliability of the welding simulation was verified. Finally, the improvements for reducing residual deformation after cover welding could be reviewed analytically.
