정수기용 부스터펌프의 가속수명시험 (An Accelerated Life Test of Booster Pump for Water Purifier)

  • This paper presents an accelerated life test of booster pump for home water purifier. The failure analysis shows that decreased flux due to the plastic deformation of bypass spring adjusting pressure is the predominant failure mechanism. An accelerated life test is designed and implemented to estimate the lifetime of the booster pump. Temperature, water pressure and voltage are selected as accelerating variables through the technical review about failure mechanism. It is assumed that the lifetimes of booster pumps follow lognormal distribution and the combination model of temperature and non-thermal stresses holds. The life-stress relationship, acceleration factor, and $B_{10}$ life at design condition are estimated by analyzing the accelerated life test data.

  • This paper presents the experimental study on the design conditions of pressure between booster ejector and air ejector in the steam-jet water-vapour refrigeration system. In this experiment, the motive steam of booster ejector and ai. ejector was dry saturated from 6 ata to 8 ata and flash chamber pressure were about $10\∼540mmHg$ higher than mixing section in booster ejector. The investigation of air on the pressure of booster ejector was performed by changing the condenser pressure. The experimental results show that flash chamber vacuum and condenser pressure of steam-jet refrigeration cycle increased in accordance with the increase of motive steam Pressure. Among the several nozzle sires tested, No.4 nozzle were best in term of evaporator vacuum under the constant operating conditions of air ejector in condenser.

Kane 다물체 동력학을 이용한 공기흡입식 추진기관 부스터 분리에 관한 연구 (Analysis of Rocket Booster Separation from Air-Breathing Engine with Kane's Method)

  • 본 논문은 공기흡입식 추진기관의 고체 로켓 부스터 분리에 관한 수학적 모델링과 시뮬레이션 기법을 기술하였다. 비행체 및 부스터는 하나의 다물체(multi-body)로 고려하였고 부스터는 단지 비행체의 축 방향으로 움직이는 것으로 가정하였다. 비행체 및 부스터의 동적 운동은 Kane 방법에 의해 모델링 되었다. 다양한 부스터 위치에 따라 전체 시스템에 작용하는 공력은 DATCOM 소프트웨어를 사용하여 산출되었으며 부스터 분리 유효 작용면에 작용하는 내부 분리 압력은 일반적인 기체역학 및 Taylor-MacColl 관계식에 의해 산출되었다. 수치적 해석은 Mathworks사의 Matlab이 사용되었다. 해석 결과에 의하면 부스터 분리 동안 마하수 및 받음각 변화 등은 크지 않는 것으로 나타났으며, 실제 시험 장치를 이용한 부스터 분리 시험이 진행될 경우 자세 각 변화, 흡입 유동 특성 등은 무시할 만한 수치임을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 램제트 부스터로 사용되는 무노즐 부스터의 특성을 알아보기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 무노즐 부스터는 수축-팽창되는 고정된 노즐목이 없어 일반적인 모터보다 압력 및 추력에 관련된 성능이 감소한다. 이를 보완하기 위해 금속연료로 알루미늄을 사용하여 밀도비추력이 최대인 고성능 추진제를 개발하였고, 지상연소시험을 통해 세장비(L/D)에 따른 성능 특성을 알아보았다. 동등한 추진제와 동일한 세장비에서 고정된 노즐목을 사용한 일반적인 모터와 비교시 비추력은 75%까지 나타났으나, 동일 평균압력 내에서는 85%까지 나타날 것으로 예측된다.

Shallow ground treatment by a combined air booster and straight-line vacuum preloading method: A case study

  • The vacuum preloading method has been used in many countries for soil improvement and land reclamation. However, the treatment time is long and the improvement effect is poor for the straight-line vacuum preloading method. To alleviate such problems, a novel combined air booster and straight-line vacuum preloading method for shallow ground treatment is proposed in this study. Two types of traditional vacuum preloading and combined air booster and straight-line vacuum preloading tests were conducted and monitored in the field. In both tests, the depth of prefabricated vertical drains (PVDs) is 4.5m, the distance between PVDs is 0.8m, and the vacuum preloading time is 60 days. The prominent difference between the two methods is when the preloading time is 45 days, the injection pressure of 250 kPa is adopted for combined air booster and straight-line vacuum preloading test to inject air into the ground. Based on the monitoring data, this paper systematically studied the mechanical parameters, hydraulic conductivity, pore water pressure, settlement and subsoil bearing capacity, as determined by the vane shear strength, to demonstrate that the air-pressurizing system can improve the consolidation. The consolidation time decreased by 15 days, the pore water pressure decreased to 60.49%, and the settlement and vane shear strengths increased by 45.31% and 6.29%, respectively, at the surface. These results demonstrate the validity of the combined air booster and straight-line vacuum preloading method. Compared with the traditional vacuum preloading, the combined air booster and straight-line vacuum preloading method has better reinforcement effect. In addition, an estimation method for evaluating the average degree of consolidation and an empirical formula for evaluating the subsoil bearing capacity are proposed to assist in engineering decision making.

  • When the pumps are started or stopped for the operation or tripped due to the power failure, the hydraulic transients occur as a result of the sudden change in velocity. The field tests on the waterhammer were carried out for Pangyo booster pumping station in which had six booster pumps and two in-line pumps with the motor of output 1,700 kW, respectively. The booster pumping station was equipped with the pump control valve as the main surge suppression device, and the surge relief valve as auxiliary one. But the pump control valve had not early controlled in the planned closing mode, the slamming occurred to the valve of which abruptly closed during the large reverse flow. Because the positive pressure wave caused by the pump failure was superposed on the slam surge, the upsurge increased so extremely that the pump control valve was damaged. After the air chambers were additionally installed in the booster pumping station, it was preyed that the water supply system acquire the safety and reliability on the pressure surge.

Impact of Booster Section Length on the Performance of Linear Cavity Brillouin-Erbium Fiber Laser

  • The impact of booster section length made from passive erbium-doped fiber (EDF) on the L-band multiwavelength Brillouin-Erbium fiber laser (MBEFL) is studied experimentally in this paper. The influence on the performance of MBEFL in term of number of generated Stokes lines, tuning range and lasing threshold were investigated. A comparison was made between MBEFL without a booster section and with booster sections of different lengths. Through comparative study and at fixed BP power and 100mW of 1480 pump power, longer passive EDF length of 5m exhibits the highest average number of Stokes lines of 23 with tuning range of 14nm. In contrast, shorter passive EDF length of 1m shows the highest tuning range of 17nm and an average number of 21 Stokes lines.

  • M125 booster is one of the reliable S&A device(safety and arming device) to determine the arming distance of fuze for gun ammunitions from 90 mm to 8 inch in diameter. And it is also well known that the arming distance of M125 booster is determined by the multiplication value of the gun tube property(traveled distance per turn of projectile) and the S&A device property(number of turns to arm), not by the projectile muzzle velocity. We have tried and succeeded in executing a proper analysis on M125 booster to figure out its characteristic constant of arming distance by considering only the gun tube properties and the S&A device properties. More detailed arming distance will be analyzed in the future by considering dynamic characteristics on all elements in the S&A device with vector analysis.

  • The immunogenecity of low molecular weight ($MW{\le}30,000$) immunogens in laying hens was investigated. Immunogens were insulin derivatives and ${\beta}$-lactoglobulin(${\beta}-Lg$). Insulin derivatives were reduced- carboxymethylated(RCM) insulin, and RCM-A and RCM-B chain of insulin. The yolk antibodies against RCM-A chain of insulin appeared after the first immunization. The yolk antibodies against RCM-B chain of insulin were elicited 5 weeks after the third booster injection. Although the anti-RCM-B chain yolk antibodies recognized native insulin, the anti-RCM-A chain yolk antibodies didn't native insulin. The anti-RCM insulin yolk antibodies were induced after the second booster injection and showed cross-reactivities with native insulin. On the other hand, ${\beta}-Lg$ showed stronger immunogenecity than insulin derivatives. The $anti-{\beta}-Lg$ yolk antibodies were produced after the second booster injection and the peak titer was reached 3 weeks after the third booster injection.
