e-book is digital contents using IT technology instead of paper. It is carried in Internet and displayed wish Viewer of PC, PDA or terminal. The Open eBook specification is to provide a specification for representing the content of electronic books to these viewers. The specification is based on HTML and XML, the same core languages that define the World Wide Web, and is designed to allow publishers and authors to deliver their material in a single format. In this paper, we design and implement the viewer that can support OEB(Open eBook) standard. Viewer is composed parser part and display part. In audition, we add some functions - the book shelf, the bookmark and the dictionary - for convenience of readers.

This study explored mother-infant interactions during reading of picture books with and without printed words. The interactions of 40 mother-infant dyads(??) were video-taped while mothers read the books aloud to their 1- or 2-year-old child at home. When reading the books with words, mothers used more "where" questions and gave more feedback to the non-verbal behavior of the infants. Mothers gave more labels, descriptions, predictions, and "what", "function/activity" questions when reading the wordless book. The infants used more nonverbal answers reading the book with words. The mothers of the 2-year-olds used more "what", "function/activity" questions, and gave feedback to their verbal behaviors. The 2-year-olds used more imitation, verbal answers, and comments. For the mothers of the 2-year-olds, the interaction with the wordless book led to more attention-recruiting and bridging. For the children, however, reading the wordless book led to more labels, questions, and comments.

Q+-reader, an E-Book reader system for XML based contents is introduced. The system is developed for the embedded platform, called Q+, which targets for the digital home electronics systems. The system supports XML contents and CSS based styling as described in Open e-Book standard. The system renders the e-book contents for users, so the contents are secured for a proper use. This will found an essential part of business infra for electronic books with copyright protection. The system was developed in Java language to be used in various platforms, and has an open architecture to be reusable for other standards as well.

This study suggests a scheme to activate an e-book service through the analysis on the cause of low usage of the services in academic libraries. The data analysis of e-book circulation records was performed for the purpose of preparing the scheme. Frequency analysis and descriptive statistics were used for basic data analysis. Also, t-test, ANOVA, non-parametric chi-square, and correlation analysis were used to examine whether there are any significant differences between treatment groups divided by gender and major.

It is introduced an outstanding book about an important topic in occupational and environmental sciences i.e., the opportunities and challenges that may be connected with increasing the use and distribution of rare earth elements. These chemically similar elements, comprising the lanthanides, scandium, and yttrium, are involved in a number of essential technological applications, and their effects raise a number of human health issues of relevance to the occupational and environmental sciences. The book that I introduced here, "Rare Earth Elements in Human and Environmental Health; At the Crossroads between Toxicity and Safety" edited by Giovanni Pagano (Pan Stanford Publishing Pte. Ltd., Temasek Boulevard, Singapore) represents a break from that situation. It is essential to increase our knowledge about the environmental fate and biological effects of these technologically important metals in order to prevent unforeseen long-term man-made consequences to human health. This book is likely to become an important resource for scientists, engineers, and decision makers who understand the need for sensible exploitation of this resource.

미디어 디지털컨버전스 환경에서 교육을 수용하는 도구로서 e-Book은 향후 더 많은 확산이 기대되어진다. 본 연구에서는 학습자의 학습도구로서 e-Book과 종이책의 수용 의도를 뇌파를 분석(자기조절지수, 기초율동지수, 주의지수, 활성지수, 정서지수, 항스트레스지수, 좌우뇌균형지수, 브레인지수 분석)하여 실험하였으며, e-Book을 사용후, 성별에 상관없이 내외적 환경 요인으로 인한 육체적, 정신적 피로도에 대한 저항력을 나타내는 항스트레스 지수가 낮아지는 결과를 얻었다. 향후, 본 연구를 기반으로 개선방향을 찾을 필요가 있다.

In order to adapt to today's rapidly changing environment and gain a competitive advantage, many companies are interested in CRM(Customer Relationship Management). Especially, the product recommendation system that can be implemented by personalizing the marketing strategy becomes the focus of CRM. In this research, we employed CBR(Case-Based Reasoning) technique that can overcome the limitation of CF(Collaborative Filtering) technique. Our system recommends the books that the customer is very likely to buy next time considering the factors such as 'Personal Features of Customer,' Similarity between Book Categories' and 'Sequence of Book Purchases'. Accuracy of predicting a book-not a particular book, but in the middle level of classification that contains about 190 categories-was about 57%.

디지털 콘텐츠의 급속한 보급과 더불어 휴대용 단말기를 이용한 eBook 관련 콘텐츠의 개발이 점증하고 있는 추세에 유통 다변화를 통한 보급 확대를 위해 스마트 TV를 통한 VOD 방송콘텐츠와 연동하여 전자책을 사용자에게 즉시로 제공할 수 있는 시스템이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 스마트 TV 방송콘텐츠를 기반으로 한 eBook 콘텐츠의 VOD 서비스를 하이브리드형으로 휴대 스마트 기기에 제공하기 위한 효과적인 시스템의 구성과 DRM 전략을 위한 프레임워크를 제시하고 프로토타입 시스템을 제안한다.

In this paper, we proposed a design of interactive augmented reality coloring book. The proposed method improves user's participation and interest by using real space, augmented reality space, and virtual reality space all together. According to the proposed method, we implemented the PlayingHouse, an interactive augmented reality coloring book. In the future, we expect that AR coloring book could be the category of the library.
