Although the physical therapy of both East and West has been based on an identical philosophy, they have had their own therapy with difference in its form and pattern. In general, cupping is used to diagnose and treat viscera by means of acupuncture point, and myofascial release is also used for both diagnosis and orthopedic treatment on the basis of trigger point and myofascial however, when they have a lot of identical facts such as using both mental and physical aspects of human beings for treatment, keeping nervous action balanced, and recovering depressed nervous functions and relieving the pain. In addition. their identical fact includes that they tend to treat patients by using symptoms and reaction shown in their skin, and that both East and West try to consider myofascia as an integrated totality and as a unified body of organic functions with correlations. Among the principles of myofascial release, recently, it has been very identical that stimulus given to the skin results in synapse to sympathetic nerve through dosal horn cell has an effect on viscera, and that cupping is sued for diagnosis and treatment of viscera. It is required, therefore, to continue to carry out studying on this field.

Epidermoid cyst is a cystic form of teratoma and believed to be derived from trapped embryonic cells along the lines of embryonic closure. A 28-year-old woman presented with a painless swelling over the left mandibular area. On panoramic view, the mandible revealed a $5.5{\times}2.0\;cm^2$ multilocular radiolucent lesion of the left mandibular body and a computed tomography scan showed expansion of both the buccal and lingual plates in the same area. Microscopy found stratified squamous epithelium of the cystic wall and cystic contents of keratinized material. The histological diagnosis wasan epidermoid cyst. The most common location of epidermoid cyst at the head and neck is in the orbit (47%), followed by the mouth floor (23%) and the cervical area (9~24%), but in the jaw bone, it is considered very infrequent. We report the uncommon epidermoid cyst in the mandibular body that had a good healing outcome after treatment with a conservative marsupialization during the 40 months follow-up.

This study developed a three-dimensional helmet mold design software that can design helmets for treating the infant plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome) using three-dimensional head scan data. For this, the three-dimensional head data of sixth SizeKorea body measurement project as well as the data produced by a head modeling software were used to prepare the head shape data of plagiocephaly patients. A total of 14 landmarks and 10 dimensions of heads required for helmet mold shape design and plagiocephaly diagnosis were automatically measured using an anthropometric analysis software. Using the software developed in this study, plagiocephaly can be diagnosed not only visually by three-dimensional head data visualization but also quantitatively by calculating the medically defined indices such as cranial index, which measures the proportions of the head, and the cranial vault asymmetry index, which measures the asymmetry of the head. The basic shape of the helmet mold was automatically generated based on the head scan data. Additionally, it is possible to fine tune the shape of the mold to reflect individual characteristics by using a free form deformation technique. Finally, the designed helmet mold was converted into the data that can be printed on a three-dimensional printer for generating the actual prototype.

Herpes virus family is highly infectious to patients, their families and dentists. The diagnosis of herpes infection is based on the characteristic clinical appearance and the location of the lesions. Herpes Simplex Virus(HSV) usually acquired through direct contact with infected lesions or body fluids, and the prevalence of HSV infection increases progressively from childhood. Primary infections provoke herpetic gingivostomatis typically affects the tongue, lips, gingival, buccal mucosa and palate. Recurrent infections give rise to vesiculo-ulcerative lesions at vermilion border of lip(herpes labialis). In the form of chickenpox, Varicella Zoster Virus(VZV) usually is infected in childhood. VZV spreads in the affected primary afferent nerve to the skin and produces a vesicular rash and pain. Epstein-Barr Virus(EBV) infects B cells and cause infectious mononucleosis. Latent EBV infection has also been implicated in Burkitt lymphoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Cytomegalovirus(CMV) is associated with immune-compromised patient such as organ transplantation and AIDS patients.

In this paper, We used the microphone unlike existing urodynamic inspection which diagnoses the LUTS(lower urinary tract symptoms) and proposed sound measurement the method which the urination happens and apply at a blockade diagnosis. To analyze the blockade degree, We made the experiment set to modeling the Lower Urinry System of the human body and made the microphone of the stethoscope form for the measurement of the urinary sound which the urination happens. We used PC for the analysis of the urinary sound to be measured and implemented the analysis program to use the MATLAB. Hereafter, An analysis result usage, The Practical use will be possible as one of new inspection methods's.

In korean society, the chronic life style diseases are increasing. It is caused by the approach of the aged society and the highly increasing income. Accordingly the preventive side of the health promotion and management is very important. In the oriental medicine, the general disease pre-estimate and the management program are necessary. On this point, the sign forecast is very significant in connection with the disease pre-estimate in the preventive disease management side. The sign forecast according to the human shape type diagnosis is mainly the sign of the super-early stage, The difference of the shape type has the difference of the special affinity about the disease. Accordingly we can find the sign forecast from the latent disease in the early stage. In NAE-GYEONG(內經), the theory of "five body form's type" can be pre-estimated the latent tendency and the clue of the disease and the growing tendency of disease in relation to the Differentiation of Syndrome, In the disease pre-estimate side, the graspe and management of the sign forecast from the latent disease will be the part of the new development.

Mutant form of the p53 gene product is abnormally accumulated in the nuclei of the tumor cells due to prolonged half life, and readily detected by immunohistochemical methods. To determine the positivity rate of p53 in body cavity fluid according the primary site and histological types of tumors and the utility of p53 immunostaining as an adjunct in the diagnosis of malignancy, we reviewed 69 effusions, including pleural effusion, ascitic fluid, and pericardial fluid, that were diagnosed as overt malignancy and 21 effusions of suspicious malignancy, immunohistochemistry was performed on paraffin-embedded cell blocks using a monoclonal antibody to p53 supressor gene product(Clone DO7) and a standard avidin-biotin complex technique with a citrate buffer antigen retrieval solution. The results were as follows; of the 46 pleural effusions with overt malignancy, 22 were immunopositive for p53 protein; of the 21 ascitic fluids with overt malignancy, 5 were positive for p53. Positivity rates according to the primary sites of tumors were 18 of 34(52.9%), 8 of 21(38.1%), 1 of 9(11.1%) cases of the tumors of the lung, GI tract, and ovary, respectively. According to the histologic types of lung cancer, 11 cases(61.6%) were positive out of 18 adenocarcinomas, 2 of 5 large cell undifferentiated carcinomas, and 1 of 2 small cell undifferentiated carcinomas. Of 21 cases of suspicious malignancy, 6 were positive for p53 and all of them(6/6) were confirmed as adenocarcinoma of the lung or GI tract. These findings indicate that p53 immunostaining using paraffin embedded cell block is useful diagnostic and prognostic marker in body fluid cytology although negative immunostaining does not exclude malignancy.

Objective: Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is a form of obsessive-compulsive disorder that may be negatively associated with the self-image. It might be associated with orthodontic treatment demand and outcome, and therefore is important. Thus, this study was conducted. Methods: The Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale modified for Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD-YBOCS) questionnaire was used in 699 orthodontic patients above 12 years of age (222 males, 477 females), at seven clinics in two cities (2020-2021). BDD diagnosis and severity were calculated based on the first 3 items and all 12 items of the questionnaire. The dental health component of the index of orthodontic treatment need (IOTN-DHC) was assessed by orthodontists. Multivariable and bivariable statistical analyses were performed on ordinal and dichotomized BDD diagnoses to assess potentially associated factors (IOTN-DHC, age, sex, marital status, education level, and previous orthodontic consultation) (α = 0.05). Results: IOTN-DHC scores 1-5 were seen in 13.0%, 39.9%, 29.8%, 12.4%, and 4.9% of patients. Age/sex/marital status/education were not associated with IOTN-DHC (p > 0.05). Based on 3-item questionnaire, 17.02% of patients had BDD (14.02% mild). Based on 12-item questionnaire, 2.86% had BDD. BDD was more prevalent or severer in females, married patients, patients with a previous history of orthodontic consultation, and patients with milder IOTN-DHCs (p < 0.05). Conclusions: IOTNDHC was negatively/slightly associated with BDD in orthodontic patients. Being female and married may increase BDD risk.
