고전환 압력관 모듈형 신형 경수로의 개념 설계

  • Th-232를 Fertile 핵연료로 사용한 압력관형 고전환 경수로심을 설계하였다. 토륨 Blanket은 10년 정도 노내에 위치시키고, 농축 우라늄 Driver는 매년 재장전하도록 설계하였다. Driver로는 $UO_2$핵연료와 U-10%Zr 금속 핵연료를 사용하였고, Blanket으로 이중 탄소 피막 핵원료를 ThO$_2$에 적용한 핵연료를 사용하였다. 핵연료봉의 구조는 울진 3/4호기 핵연료와 같은 재원으로 하였으며 육각형 격자 배열로 집합체를 구성하였다. Seed Bundle을 1년 단위로 교체하고 Blanket Bundled을 5년-10년간 노내에 위치시키는 경우 경수로보다는 높은 전환율 갖는 원자로를 설계할 수 있다.

  • In Flexo printing machine, it's operated with combination of blanket cylinder and cylinder. The blanket cylinder has some number of grooves to attach the blanket on surface. In case of operating the printing machine, it has generate mechanical noise when the two cylinders encounter with the grooves. So, in this study, we developed a mechanical noise control algorithm of printing in servo control system. Then we have reduced the mechanical noise with control of servo actuator.

  • In this study, the neutronic calculation to obtain tritium breeding ratio (TBR) in a deuterium-tritium (D-T) fusion power reactor using Monte Carlo MCNPX is done. In addition, by using COMSOL software, an efficient cooling system is designed. In the proposed design, it is adequate to enrich up to 40% 6Li. Total tritium breeding ratio of 1.12 is achieved. The temperature of helium as coolant gas never exceed 687℃. As regards the tolerable temperature of beryllium (650℃), the design of blanket module is done in the way that beryllium temperature never exceed 600℃. The main feature of this design indicates the temperature of helium coolant is higher than other proposed models for blanket module, therefore power of electricity generation will increase.

  • The rapid structural change of ULSI chip includes minimum features, multilevel interconnection and large diameter wafers. Demands for the advanced chip structure necessitates the development of enhanced deposition, etching and planarization techniques. Planarization refers to a process that make rugged surfaces flat and uniform. One of the emerging technologies for planarization is chemical mechanical polishing(CMP). Chemical and mechanical removal actions occur during CMP, and both appear to be closely interrelated. The purpose of this study is the optimal application of the slurry to the various types of device materials during CMP. We investigates the effect of slurry on CMP characteristics for thermal oxide and sputtered Al blanket wafers. Results from the polishing rate and the uniformity of residual film include mechanical and chemical reactions between several set of slurry and work material.

A Study on the Cultural Symbolism of the Chilkat Blanket (칠카트 블랭킷의 문화적 상징성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this research is to reveal that the clothing in a cultural system is a visual symbol expressing the aspects of its technology, social-structure, and ideology. For this, the chilkat blanket of Tlingit is selected and analyzed. Tlingit is the one of the indian tribes of the Northwest Coast of the North America. This chilkat blanket used as an ostentatious item in the potlatch has the various functions. First, it expresses the thechnological features in this society, as the process of weaving, collecting of materials, etc. Second, it provides the view of the social-structure through its role differntiation of sex, and affirmation of the rank systems in this cultural system. And we can see the ideological value of this culture through the chilkat blanket. They persuit the value of labor and the harmony between their lives and the nature in this design. In conclusion, the clothing must be considered and analysed its value in the context of the society.

Silica Aerogel Blanket Processing Technologies for Use as a Widespread Thermal Insulation Material (범용 단열재로 활용하기 위한 실리카 에어로젤 블랭킷의 처리 기술)

  • Aerogel is the most excellent insulation material known to date, but it is inflexible and has very low strength. A blanket containing aerogel in a nonwoven fabric or fiber is currently the most practical form. However, aerogel blankets are not yet widely used because they cannot avoid dust generation when handled, lack flexibility, and can possibly deform. In this study, vacuum treatment, surface treatment, and composite materialization technology were applied to solve this problem, and some prototypes were also made. If an aerogel blanket is wrapped in an aluminum sheet, sealed at the four ends, and vacuumed, it can become a material with better insulation than the blanket itself. An aerogel molded body can be made by coating the aerogel blanket with resin and treating the surface. If the aerogel blanket is multi-packed and laminated with resin or fiber in multiple layers to make it a composite material, it can be used as a flexible insulation material. In particular, this composite material, which utilizes a Teflon membrane with controlled pores, is breathable and waterproof, so it can be used for clothing. Prototypes of insoles for winter boots and outdoor roll mats were also produced using aerogel blanket resin and fiber composites. These prototypes showed low thermal conductivity of less than 20 mW m-1K-1, with good flexibility and durability.

Effect of LiOT on the Tritium Inventory of $Li_{2}O$ Fusion Blanket Breeder Material

  • Tritium behavior in the solid breeder blanket is one of the key factors in determining tritium self-sufficiency, as well as safety, of fusion reactors. Recently, a model has been developed to describe the tritium behavior in solid breeder material, which can predict the tritium release and inventory in the blanket. However, the model has limitation to account for tritium solubility effects, mainly existing as LiOT, especially inside the $Li_{2}O$ solid breeder. In order to improve the capability of predicting the LiOT precipitation in $Li_{2}O$ solid breeder, a new logic is developed and integrated in the existing tritium release and inventory calculation code. With the logic developed in this work, the code can have capabilities to analyze tritium release and inventories in $Li_{2}O$ under steady and transient conditions. It can be found that tritium inventory as LiOT is an important mechanism under pulsed operation, and the amount of inventory becomes higher as the tritium generation rate increases and the temperature decreases. Also, the temperature limits for the generation of LiOT precipitation are determined. Therefore the developed logic helps understand the tritium transport mechanism in $Li_{2}O$ solid breeder.
