  • It respects the high speed of the Bitter expense decoder from the present paper ACS (Add Compare Select) block structures of new method it proposed. Life Experience following Suicide Attempt among Middle-aged Men (중년남성의 자살시도 후 삶의 체험)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to identify the meaning of life experience following suicide attempt among middle-aged men. Methods: A qualitative research design was adopted using van Manen's hermeneutic phenomenological approach. The participants were six middle-aged men who had attempted suicide at least one time. Data were collected in 2013 through in-depth interviews. Individual interviews were recorded; and literary, art works and phenomenological literature were searched to identify the meaning of the experience. Results: The five essential themes of the life experience of middle-aged men who attempted suicide were 'Bitter reality confronted again', 'Anger buried deep inside', 'Broken family, inescapable fetters', 'Blocked relationships, closed world' and 'A step towards a new life'. Conclusion: The meaning of lived experience found in this study provides deep insight into the experience following suicide attempt in middle-aged men and crucial information to give directions to appropriate support and nursing interventions.

Effect of Leonurus sibiricus green juice on gastric sceretion of Rats (익모초(益母草) 녹즙(綠汁)이 흰쥐의 위액분비기능(胃液分泌機能)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • These studies were carried out to investigate effects of Leonurus sibiricus green juice on gastric secretion of rats and acute toxicity in mice ; $LD_50(mg/kg)$ of Leonurus sibiricus extract was 625mg/kg intraperitoneally in mice. The groups administered green juice and water extract of Leonurus sibiricus showed more excellent increasing effect in total acidity and peptic activity, and decreasing effect on gastric volume than control group. But any differences were not found between sample and control group in gastric pH. It is suggested that Leonurus sibiricus can he used as the bitter stomachics to promote the gastric digestion.

  • The amino acid content and constitution of domestic flue-cured tobacco before and after the aging were investigated. The major amino acids of domestic flue -cured tobacco were histidine, serine, aspartic acid and proline and leucine, isoleucine and glycine were minority in them. Phenylalanine was the most changeable components through the aging. While the contents of tryptophan, sering and Proline which have herbaceous, harsh and bitter taste and aroma in smoke were reduced, tyrosine which adds smoothing and enhances smoke aroma was increased after the aging. The leaf tobacco aged at 4$0^{\circ}C$ for 30 days had a amino acid composition as good leaf tobacco storaged in natural condition for 2 years.

  • One of the indigeneous plants to this country, Syringa dilatata $N_{AKAI}$ (Oleaceae) is known in commerce as 'Ya-Jung-Hyang' (野丁香) and has been known to be of effect as bitter stomachics. Seasonal variations in the content of polyalcohols and free reducing sugars in leaves of this plant which contains syringin glycoside, mannitol and free reducing sugars etc. were studied. Application of chromotropic acid to formaldehyde which was obtained from polyalcohols and reducing sugars by treatment with periodic acid results in reddish violet coloration and the solution has absorption maximum at wave length $570m\;{\mu}$. By the use of ionic exchange resin chromatography, poyalcohols were separated from the above mixture. The content of polyalcohols of this plant was plentiful in the growing season while that of free reducing sugars was decreasing vice versa.

  • Development of chocolate products to improve the quality and sensory properties with Saengmaeg-san powder (SP) was attempted. Effects of SP on color, viscosity, total phenol compound content, radical scavening activity and sensory characteristics. In color, lightness value was increased than milk chocolate without SP Also viscosity was significantly higher than chocolate without SP.Total polyphenol content of Saengmaeg-san chocolate was 191.52 mg/1 OOg and Dpph scavenging activity was 87.06%. Results of sensory evaluation, significant different (p < 0.05) were shown in softness, sweet taste, sour taste, bitter taste, texture and overall acceptability depending on the addition of SP.

  • In Traditional Oriental Medicine, the drug treatment has been explained by the thoery of "Si Qi Wu Wei(四氣五味)". Among them, Xin(辛) has effect of Sheng(升), San(散), Xing(行), and Ku(苦) has effect of Jiang xia(降下), Zao shi(燥濕), Jian yin(堅陰). The study on the medical action of Asari Radix shows that "Xin ke run zao(辛可潤燥)" was derived from Sheng(升), San(散), Xing(行) efficacy of sour. And the study on the medical action of Phellodendron Bark, Anemarrhenae Rhizoma shows that "Ku ke run zao(苦可潤燥)" was derived from Xie(泄) efficacy of bitter.

  • The kinds and remedies of intoxication were investigated throughout total 22 books of oriental medicine. The results are as follows 1. The kinds of intoxication were 91, most of which were plant intoxications and animal intoxications. 2. The kinds of detoxication medicines was 203, the most popularly prescribed of which were Radix Glycyrrhizae Semen Glycine. 3. The prescribed medicines were most nonpoisonous ones, but some of them were poisonous. 4. The medicines with Han seong(寒性) were most popularly prescribed. The ones with On seong(溫性), Pung seong(平性), Youl seong(熱性), Yang seong(凉性) follows 5. The most popularly prescribed medicine was sweet taste(甘味). The nest ones were pungent taste(辛味), bitter taste(苦味), sour taste(酸味), salty taste(鹹味). 6. The most popularly prescribed medicine was Chung Youl(淸熱) medicines.

  • This study assesses the wear process of particle impingement erosion which is a major source of erosion among fluid power components. First, Bitter's theory was modified to simplify engineering calculations. Second, actual experiments were conducted to validate the modified equation. And the effect of concentration and size distribution of impinging particles was tested. Little deviation from the prediction of the modified equation was observed. To develop complete analytical approach to the erosion mechanism, further experimental data are required to establish a correlation with other engineering parameters.

  • The effect of color, as measured on the spectrometer, on the 4 basic tastes(sweet, salty, sour & bitter) perception of a series of colored and no-flavored solutions was quantified by 16 taste panel using magnitude estimation without modulus. The regression lines for each colored series were found to differ indicating that color had a significant effect on sweetness, sourness and bitterness. A sucrose level of 4.0%, a citric acid level of 0.05%, and a nicotinamide level of 0.08% maximized the effect of color on taste's perception and its acceptability. Although color tended to confuse the perception of saltiness, this effect was not significant except for yellow solutions.
