  • Responsible tourism has become an established area of the tourism industry. This study aims to identify the factors that influence re-participation in responsible tourism in rural Korea. On-site survey was conducted on 436 tourists by seven responsible tourism agencies in Korea. The motivation for responsible tourists was categorized into seven types: family togetherness, escape and relaxation, personal growth, social interaction, various experiences, learning, and natural experience. The estimation of a binary logistic regression model determined the characteristics of responsible tourists who are most likely to opt for re-participation in responsible tourism. Results indicated that important factors for re-participation in responsible tourism were 'age', 'educational level', 'accompany', 'length of stay', and 'motivation'. The results implied that tourists' internal and external factors are important for re-participation in responsible tourism. It is expected that this study will contribute to the market expansion of responsible tourism.

  • Purpose: This study aims to explore the factors affecting the willingness to pay for chicken delivery services targeting college students. The results of this study provide insights for improving food delivery market services and developing effective marketing strategies. Research design, data and methodology: A survey employing a questionnaire was administered to students at Chungbuk National University over a 10-day period from May 15 to May 24, 2023. Out of 232 distributed surveys, 218 were considered suitable for analysis. Binomial logistic regression analysis was conducted with the willingness to pay for delivery fees contingent on chicken price, serving as the dependent variable. Results: The main findings are following. First, as the price of chicken increases, the percentage of individuals willing to pay more than 2,000 won for delivery services decreases. Second, regardless of chicken price, males exhibit a lower tendency to bear higher delivery service fees compared to females. Lastly, those who lack awareness of their recent delivery fees or have previously paid charges exceeding 3,000 won demonstrate a greater propensity to pay higher delivery service fees compared to those who have paid fees below 3,000 won. Conclusions: It is essential for chicken sellers to identify key customer segments such as single-person households, and offer pricing and services tailored to their needs and preferences.

  • Recently, landslide and debris-flow disasters caused by severe rain storms have frequently occurred. Many researches related to landslide susceptibility analysis and debris-flow hazard analysis have been conducted, but there are not many researches related to mobilization analysis for landslides transforming into debris-flow in slope areas. In this study, statistical analyses such as discriminant analysis and logistic regression analysis were conducted to develop a mobilization criterion using geomorphological and geological factors. Ten parameters of geomorphological and geological factors were used as independent variables, and 466 cases (228 non-mobilization cases and 238 mobilization cases) were investigated for the statistical analyses. First of all, Fisher's discriminant function was used for the mobilization criterion. It showed 91.6 percent in the accuracy of actual mobilization cases, but homogeneity condition of variance and covariance between non-mobilization and mobilization groups was not satisfied, and independent variables did not follow normal distribution, either. Second, binomial logistic analysis was conducted for the mobilization criterion. The result showed 92.3 percent in the accuracy of actual mobilization cases, and all assumptions for the logistic analysis were satisfied. Therefore, it can be concluded that the mobilization criterion for debris-flow using binomial logistic regression analysis can be effectively applied for the prediction of debris-flow hazard analysis.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors affecting the drinking behavior of adolescents. Based on this, it aims to suggest the practical and policy measures to prevent the drinking behavior of adolescents and to mediate / reduce them. We used binomial logistic analysis as an analysis method. As a result of this study, the individual factors affecting alcohol drinking were gender, smoking experience over the past year, sexual satisfaction, cyber delinquency, self-esteem, parental abuse, peer as family factors. Peer trust was significantly associated with attachment factors, and school adaptation factors were not found to be associated with alcohol drinking in adolescents. This suggests that multilateral efforts such as individuals, families, and communities are needed to mediate and reduce the drinking behavior of adolescents.

  • The purpose of the study is to analyze the relationship between the warning picture on a cigarette pack and non-smoking attempt, which is expected to contribute to the negative perception of smoking as a research subject about smoking adolescents. An online survey data of the Youth Health Behavior in 2018 has been used, and 3,722 adolescents who are currently smokers were selected for the study. For the measurement of variables, demographic sociology, health-related, and smoking-related factors have been revised, and multivariate binomial logistic regression analysis has been performed. The perception rate of cigarette warning pictures among adolescents who smoke currently is 84.7%, and among them, the attempt rate to quit smoking is 72.8%. As a result of the multivariate binomial logistic regression analysis, there is a meaningful relationship between adolescent smokers' attempts to quit smoking and whether they perceived cigarette pack warning pictures, and school grade year, academic performance, stress perception, and ease of purchasing cigarettes have been also expressed as meaningful variables. To be based on the result, it is necessary to manufacture to design a cigarette pack warning picture that can be easily recognized by smoking adolescents in the future.

  • Background: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between pharyngeal morphology and the success or failure of blind nasotracheal intubation using standard lateral cephalometric radiography and to analyze the measurement items affecting the difficulty of blind nasotracheal intubation. Methods: Assuming a line perpendicular to the Frankfort horizontal (FH) plane, the reference point (O) was selected 1 cm above the posterior-most end of the hard palate. A line passing through the reference point and parallel to the FH plane is defined as the X-axis, and a line passing through the reference point and perpendicular to the X-axis is defined as the Y-axis. The shortest length between the tip of the uvula and posterior pharyngeal wall (AW), shortest length between the base of the tongue and posterior pharyngeal wall (BW), and width of the glottis (CW) were measured. The midpoints of the lines representing each width are defined as points A, B, and C, and the X and Y coordinates of each point are obtained (AX, BX, CX, AY, BY, and CY). For each measurement, a t-test was performed to compare the tracheal intubation success and failure groups. A binomial logistic regression analysis was performed using clinically relevant items. Results: The items significantly affecting the success rate of blind nasotracheal intubation included the difference in X coordinates at points A and C (Odds ratio, 0.714; P-value, 0.024) and the ∠ABC (Odds ratio, 1.178; P-value, 0.016). Conclusion: Using binomial logistic regression analysis, we observed statistically significant differences in AX-CX and ∠ABC between the success group and the failure group.

  • An electric vehicle is emerging as an alternative to the response of global climate change and sustainability. However, an Electric vehicle has not been popular due to the constraints such as its price or technical limitations. In order to analyze the effect of purchasing electric vehicles, this study conducted a binary logistic regression model that demonstrates the relation between purchasing and influencing variables. Variables which have high correlation were excluded from the model through the correlation analysis to prevent multicollinearity. Socio-economic variables such as the number of owned vehicles, sex, ages are not significant. On the other hand, Variables related to prices, charging and policy are found to have a significant to effect on the purchase of electric vehicles. In accordance with the model estimated result, it seems to be necessary to improve the charging incentives, or to provide electric car information and to expand opportunities for experience electric vehicles. The result is also expected to be helpful for spreading electric vehicles and formulating policies.
