  • In this paper, a digital watermarking scheme whichis effective in protecting a copyright of video image under an image transformation and impulse noise is proposed. The proposing scheme is to use a coded watermark that insert the personal ID of copyrighter. The recovery ability is improved by the coded watermark. Also the coded watermark is abel to trace the illegal distributors. Binary image is used as watermark image, the value of PSNR and recovered rates of watermark are obtained in order to confirm the required invisibility and robustness in watermark system. The experimental results show that image quality is less degraded as the PSNR of 98.21 ㏈. It is also observed that excellent watermark recovery is achieved under the image transformation and impulse noise.

  • The extraction of traffic information based on image processing is under broad research recently because the method based on image processing takes less cost and effort than the traditional method based on physical equipment. The main purpose of the algorithm based on image processing is to extract vehicles from an image correctly. Before the extraction, the algorithm needs the pre-processing such as background subtraction and binary image thresholding. During the pre-processing much noise is brought about because roadside tree and passengers in the sidewalk as well as vehicles are extracted as traffic flow. The noise undermines the overall accuracy of the algorithm. In this research, most of the noise could be removed by extracting the exact road area which does not include sidewalk or roadside tree. To extract the exact road area, traffic lanes in the image were used. Algorithm speed also increased. In addition, with the ratio between the sequential images, the problem caused by vehicles' shadow was minimized.

  • In this paper, we propose a Fuzzy Cellular Neural Network(FCNN) that is based on a-Least Trimmed Square Hausdorff distance(a-LTSHD) which applies Hausdorff distance(HD) to the FCNN structure in order to remove the impulse noise of images effectively and also improve the speed of operation. FCNN incorporates Fuzzy set theory to Cellular Neural Network(CNN) structure and HD is used as a scale which computes the distance between set or two pixels in binary images without confrontation of the feature object. This method has been widely used with the adjustment of the object. For performance evaluation, our proposed method is analyzed in comparison with the conventional FCNN, with the Opening-Closing(OC) method, and the LTSHD based FCNN by using Mean Square Error(MSE) and Signal to Noise Ratio(SNR). As a result, the performance of our proposed network structure is found to be superior to the other algorithms in the removal of impulse noise.

  • Conventional feature of seismic classification focuses on strong seismic classification, while it is not suitable for classifying micro-seismic waves. We propose a feature extraction method based on histogram and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) in frequency-time space suitable for classifying seismic waves including strong, micro, and artificial seismic waves, as well as noise classification. The proposed method essentially employs histogram and PCA based features by concatenating the frequency and time information for binary classification which consist strong-micro-artificial/noise and micro/noise and micro/artificial seismic waves. Based on the recent earthquake data from 2017 to 2018, effectiveness of the proposed feature extraction method is demonstrated by comparing it with existing methods.

  • Halftonig is a technique to create the appearance of intermideate tone levels by controlling the spatial distribution of the binary pixel values. Recently, many printing devices such as image setter, inkjet printer, laser printer and facsimile, generate image, they require the technique. Ordered dither is achieved comparing the gray scale image to periodic array. This method is fast, but it occurs periodic patterns. Conentional error diffusion generates a good image. But processing speed is very slow and appeares worm artifacts in middle tone scale. To improve it, Bns(Blue noise Screen) is developed based on Gaussian distribution. In this paper, we discribe methods to design BNS based human visual characteristics and to improve blue appearing at edge area of image by USM(using unsharp mask).

  • We have scanned the several seismic traces of earthquakes and blasts observed from the digital new type seismograph instruments of KMA from Jan. 2000 to Aug. 2000. From these data, good quality data which have high signal/noise ratio were selected and they were transformed into ascii data from binary data(mini-seed format). The hypo71 program and P-S was applied in order to determine the location of epicenter, origin time and the magnitude. From these data, the 18 earthquakes and 3 blasts, 207 seismic records consist of 359 directional components were calculated. Using theses ground acceleration data, acceleration, velocity, and displacement response spectrums of the structures were calculated and they could be represented in a picture by the form of tripartite response spectrum. In the result, response spectrums of the 359 directional components of the above seismic data records were obtained respectively.

  • We propose an ultrashort pulse optical code-division multiple-access (O-CDMA) scheme based on a pseudorandom binary M-sequence spectral phase encoding and decoding of coherent mode-locked laser pulses and perform a numerical simulation to analyze its feasibility. We demonstrate the ability to properly decode any of the multiple (eight) 10 Gbit/s users by the matched code selection of the spectral phase decoder. The peak power signal to noise ratio of properly and improperly decoded $8{\times}10 Gb/s$ signals could be greater than 15 for 127 M-sequence coding.

  • This paper studies the application of a fuzzy-ARTMAP (FAM) neural network to multi-user detector (MUD) for direct sequence (DS)-code division multiple access (CDMA) system. This method shows new solution for solving the problems, such as complexity and long training, which is found when implementing the previously developed neural-basis MUDs. The proposed FAM based MUD is fast and easy to train and includes capabilities not found in other neural network approaches; a small number of parameters, no requirements for the choice of initial weights, automatic increase of hidden units, no risk of getting trapped in local minima, and the capabilities of adding new data without retraining previously trained data. In simulation studies, binary signals were generated at random in a linear channel with Gaussian noise. The performance of FAM based MUD is compared with other neural net based MUDs in terms of the bit error rate.

  • We propose a now watermarking scheme that can be used to embed multiple bits and also resilient to geometrical transforms such as scaling, rotation, and cropping, based on off - axis holographic watermark that allows multiple watermark recovery without original content(cover image). The holographic watermark is that Fourier transformed digital hologram is embedded into cover image in the spatial domain. The proposed method has not only increased robustness with a stronger embedding but also imprescriptibility of the watermark in the evaluation process. To compare with the convention기 scheme, the spread spectrum, we embedded and recovered maximum 1,024 bits that consist of binary number over PSNR(peak signal-to-noise ratio) 39dB. And also, we computed robustness with BER(bit error rate) corresponding the above attack

  • In this paper, we discuss the belief propagation decoding algorithm for polar codes. The performance of Polar codes for shorter lengths is not satisfactory. Motivated by this, we propose a novel technique to improve its performance at short lengths. We showed that the probability of messages passed along the factor graph of polar codes, can be increased by multiplying the current message of nodes with their previous message. This is like a feedback path in which the present signal is updated by multiplying with its previous signal. Thus the experimental results show that performance of belief propagation polar decoder can be improved using this proposed technique. Simulation results in binary-input additive white Gaussian noise channel (BI-AWGNC) show that the proposed belief propagation polar decoder can provide significant gain of 2 dB over the original belief propagation polar decoder with code rate 0.5 and code length 128 at the bit error rate (BER) of $10^{-4}$.
