  • The paper presents a sensorless speed control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motors using an adaptive integral binary observer in view of composition with a main loop regulator and an auxiliary loop regulator. The binary observer has a property of the chattering alleviation in the constant boundary layer; however, the steady state estimation accuracy and robustness are dependent upon with width of the constant boundary. In order to improve the steady state performance of the binary observer, the binary observer is formed by adding extra integral dynamic to the switching hyperplane equation.

  • This paper presents a speed control of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) using an adaptive integral binary observer without speed and position sensors.   • This paper presents sensorless speed control of a cylindrical permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) using the adaptive integral binary observer. In view of the composition with a main loop regulator and an auxiliary loop regulator, the normal binary observer has the feature of chattering alleviation in the constant boundary layer. However, the steady state estimation accuracy and robustness are dependent upon the thickness of the constant boundary layer. In order to improve the steady state performance of the binary observer, a new binary observer is formed by the addition of extra integral dynamics to the existing switching hyperplane equation. Also, because the parameters of the dynamic equations such as machine inertia or viscosity friction coefficient are not well known and these values can be changed during normal operations, there are many restrictions in the actual implementation. The proposed adaptive integral binary observer applies an adaptive scheme so that the observer may overcome the problems caused by using dynamic equations. The rotor speed is constructed by using the Lyapunov function. The observer structure and its design method are described. The experimental results of the proposed algorithm are presented to prove the effectiveness of the approach.

  • Ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) is an effective method of power generation, which has a small impact on the environment and can be utilized semi-permanently. This paper describes a dynamic model for a pilot OTEC plant built by the Institute of Ocean Energy, Saga University, Japan. This plant is based on Uehara cycle, in which binary mixtures of ammonia and water is used as the working fluid. Some simulation results attained by this model and the analysis of the results are presented. The developed computer simulation can be used to actual practice effectively, such as stable control in a steady operation, optimal determination of the plant specifications for a higher thermal efficiency and evaluation of the economic prospects and off-line training for the operators of OTEC plant.

  • 국내에는 바이너리 코드에 대한 분석 기술이 많이 부족한 상태이다. 일반적으로 컴퓨터에 설치되는 실행 파일은 소스 코드 없이 단지 바이너리로 된 실행 파일만 주어지는 경우가 대부분이다. 따라서 위험하거나 알 수 없는 동작이 수행되는 경우가 발생할 수 있다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 바이너리 수준에서 정적으로 프로그램 분석을 수행할 수 있는 프레임워크를 설계 및 구현한다. 이 논문에서는 바이너리 실행 파일로부터 실행 순서 및 제어 흐름 등의 정보를 표현할 수 있는 제어 흐름 그래프를 작성하여 실행 흐름과 위험한 함수의 호출 여부를 동시에 파악하고 개발된 프레임워크를 통해 바이너리 파일에 대한 분석을 용이하게 한다.

  • This paper suggests a method to recognize the various defect patterns of a cold mill strip using a binary decision tree automatically constructed by a genetic algorithm(GA). In classifying complex patterns with high similarity like the defect patterns of a cold mill stirp, the selection of an optimal feature set and an appropriate recognizer is important to achieve high recognition rate. In this paper a GA is used to select a subset of the suitable features at each node in the binary decision tree. The feature subset with maximum fitness is chosen and the patterns are classified into two classes using a linear decision function. This process is repeated at each node until all the patterns are classified into individual classes. In this way, the classifier using the binary decision tree is constructed automatically. After constructing the binary decision tree, the final recognizer is accomplished by having neural network learning sits of standard patterns at each node. In this paper, the classifier using the binary decision tree is applied to the recognition of defect patterns of a cold mill strip, and the experimental results are given to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed scheme.

  • This paper proposes a new concept, called merit factor Fr, for evaluating the randomness of binary random sequences. The merit factor Fr is obtained from the expected values of the autocorrelation function of the binary random sequence. Using this merit factor Fr, randomness of the binary random sequences generated by the random sampling method is evaluated.

  • 바이너리 코드 수준에서 정적인 프로그램 분석을 수행한다. 소스 코드가 아닌 바이너리 코드 수준에서 분석을 수행하는 이유는 일반적으로 로컬 컴퓨터에 설치하는 실행 파일은 소스 코드 없이 단지 바이너리로 된 실행 파일만 주어지는 경우가 대부분이기 때문이다. 또한 정적으로 분석을 수행하려는 이유는 정적인 제어 흐름 분석을 통해 프로그램이 수행 시 어떤 동작을 수행하게 될지를 수행 전에 파악하기 위해서이다. 본 논문에서는 바이너리 실행 파일로부터 함수간의 실행 순서 및 제어 흐름 등의 정보를 표현할 수 있는 실행 흐름 그래프를 작성하여 사용자가 바이너리 파일의 실행 흐름과 위험한 함수의 호출 여부를 동시에 파악할 수 있도록 하며, 그래프를 통해 바이너리 파일의 분석을 용이하게 한다. 또한 실행 흐름에 대한 자동 탐색 방법을 제공하여 수행될 프로그램의 안전성을 보장하고, 수행 전에 외부에서 다운받아 설치할 프로그램이 안전한지를 판단할 수 있도록 한다.

2진 로봇 매니퓰레이터의 기구학적 해석 (Kinematic Analysis of a Binary Robot Manipulator)

  • The traditional robot manipulators are actuated by continuous range of motion actuators such as motors or hydraulic cylinders. However, there are many applications of mechanisms and robotic manipulators where only a finite number of locations need to be reached, and the robot's trajectory is not important as long as it is bounded. Binary manipulator uses actuators which have only two stable states. As a result, binary manipulators have a finite number of states. The number of states of a binary manipulator grows exponentially with the number of actuators. This kind of robot manipulator has some advantage compared to a traditional one. Feedback control is not required, task repeatability can be very high, and finite state actuators are generally inexpensive. And this kind of robot manipulator has a fault tolerant mechanism because of kinematic redundancy. This paper develops algorithms for kinematics and workspace analysis of a binary manipulator.

  • In this paper, a new estimation algorithm for the rotor speed for SRM drives is described. The algorithm is implemented by the binary observer. The stability and robustness of the binary observer for the parameter variations of the SRM are Proved by variable structure control theory. Variable speed control of the SRM is accomplished by the estimated speed. Experiment results verify that the MRAS observer is able to estimate the speed.
