  • The challenges facing manufacturing companies today span across the industry, independent of company size or product. Especially, big manufacturers must overcome these challenges, and information technology (IT) collaboration with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will play a major role in this effort. In this research, the strategy and way to promote IT collaboration between SMEs and large firms in heavy industries are proposed. A pre-consultation was performed to derive the strategy and way for the collaboration, and an IT collaboration system was developed reflection the results of pre-consultation. The IT collaboration system consists of two parts. One is ERP based on BPM for SMEs to standardize and visualize the entire business process from order placement to release. This system also provides their parent company with visibility into the status of orders and user can easily access the system on the web at a low price through cloud computing service. The other is interface part for data changes between large firms and SMEs. Thus far, this paper demonstrates the importance of strategy for the collaboration, and the applicability of IT collaboration system to elevate the speed and efficiency of business.

  • As a public medium and one of the big data sources that is accumulated informally and real time, online news comments or replies are considered a significant resource to understand mentalities of article readers. The comments are also being regarded as an important medium of WOM (Word of Mouse) about products, services or the enterprises. If the diffusing effect of the comments is referred to as the degrees of agreement and disagreement from an angle of WOM, figuring out which characteristics of the comments would influence the agreements or the disagreements to the comments in very early stage would be very worthwhile to establish a comment-based eWOM (electronic WOM) strategy. However, investigating the effects of the characteristics of the comments on eWOM effect has been rarely studied. According to this angle, this study aims to conduct an empirical analysis which understands the characteristics of comments that affect the numbers of agreement and disagreement, as eWOM performance, to particular news articles which address a specific product, service or enterprise per se. While extant literature has focused on the quantitative attributes of the comments which are collected by manually, this paper used text mining techniques to acquire the qualitative attributes of the comments in an automatic and cost effective manner.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate defects in Zelkova serrata trees using an ultrasonic tomograph (PICUS) and suggest a management plan to maintain it as a natural and cultural resource. In previous study, health information of 16 protected trees were obtained by surveying the following categories; tree appearance, crown, bark, root exposure, water and nutrition, deterioration, pest, vitality, ground status, and pollutant. The average score of health was 16.5 in 16 trees, which means that general monitor is needed for management. In this study, the evaluation result of tree's inside defects using an ultrasonic tomograph showed that 43.8% of decay rate has been found in 16 trees. In fact, some trees look to be good even though they actually have a defects causing broken by natural disaster such as strong wind. Therefore, it is urgent to put some support to the trees and come up with a protective plan. The results of this study would be useful as basic data in developing a guideline for the efficient conservation and management of big and old trees.

  • Traditional infrastructure has been superseded by cloud computing, due to its cost-effective and ubiquitous computing model. Cloud computing not only brings multitude of opportunities, but it also bears some challenges. One of the key challenges it faces is recovery of computing nodes, when an Information Technology (IT) failure occurs. Since cloud computing mainly depends upon its nodes, physical servers, that makes it very crucial to recover a failed node in time and seamlessly, so that the customer gets an expected level of service. Work has already been done in this regard, but it has still proved to be trivial. In this study, we present a Cost-Time aware Genetic scheduling algorithm, referred to as CTaG, not only to globally optimize the performance of the cloud system, but also perform recovery of failed nodes efficiently. While modeling our work, we have particularly taken into account the factors of network bandwidth and customer's monetary cost. We have implemented our algorithm and justify it through extensive simulations and comparison with similar existing studies. The results show performance gain of our work over the others, in some particular scenarios.

  • Because there are growing demands for new information service of Korean medicine (KM) accommodated changes in the paradigm of health communication, we aimed to apply health 2.0 - which shares health information to improve individuals' health - extensively in KM. First we studied about the concepts and characteristics of health 2.0 and analyzed the pros and cons of KM information services. Finally we drew the KM health 2.0 framework from the analyzed results. KM health 2.0 framework is designed to raise the value of KM information through circulation of certified medical information to prevent medical accident. And it is also designed to integrate information through big data analysis technology from the information of individual services to recreate KM contents.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to measure the effect on the attributes for store selection and Korean government regulations for large retailers on consumption emotion. Research Design, Data, and Methodology - Using SPSS ver.22, factor analysis & Cronbach's alpha, correlation, and regression test were performed. The total of 287 questionnaires were used for the analysis Result - Familiarity, perceived price, and perceived image have a positive effect on consumption emotion, but perceived quality & service did not. The Consumption emotion had a positive effect on traditional market revisit intentions. Retail regulation preference has a mediate effect between consumption emotion and familiarity & perceived price. Retail regulation preference also has a mediate effect between consumption emotion and traditional market revisit intension. Conclusion - Relationship marketing with sincerity is very important to keep familiarity, perceived price and image. People's consumption trend was changed due to dual career couple and heavy traffic jam in big cities. Therefore, a retail regulation cannot be a right solution for revitalizing traditional markets. So we need to find out an actual situation and design a win-win strategy between large retailers and traditional market.

  • With the paramount importance of key account management in business-to-business relationship, today companies are using this approach as a strategic weapon in their selling efforts targeted at the most important customers to solve their complex requirements with special treatment that eventually ensures both parties' financial and nonfinancial objectives. The aim of this paper is to investigate the level of key account management performance among the export-oriented readymade garments companies in Bangladesh with regards to company's experience in business, size of the company and key account serving capacity of the company. Using a questionnaire, data from 112 readymade garments companies in Bangladesh were collected and analyzed using descriptive analysis and ANOVA to test the level of key account management performance. Results show that the level of key account management performance by the garments companies did not vary by the company's experience in business and size of the company respectively. In contrast, the level of key account management performance was found to be different concerning high, medium, and low customer service capacity. Apparently, companies with big number of customers show better performance than companies with small number of customer. Implications for this study are discussed along with suggestions for future research avenues.

  • With the development of IoT (Internet of Things) technology, the application area has been diversified and the number of users using this service also has increased greatly. Real time big data generated by many IoT devices is no longer suitable for processing in a cloud computing environment. To solve this issue, fog computing is suggested which minimizes response time and makes real time processing suitable. However, security requirement for new paradigm called fog computing is not established until now. In this paper, we define models for fog computing, and the security requirements for the defined model.

  • Although there are a lot of file sharing mechanisms in the Internet such as NFS and P2P, FTP is one of the most common mechanisms used until now. In this paper, we propose a more enhanced file sharing mechanism, the Distributed File Server (DFS) method. The most remarkable feature of DFS is that it can be simply adopted in the current Internet FTP services by locating a DFS node between existing FTP servers and clients without changing any existing file transfer environment. To verify the proposed mechanism we implemented a DFS prototype on RedHat 7.2 system and we finally show that it can reduce the file storage problem caused by big-sized multimedia data.
