A Swine Management System for PLC baed on Integrated Image Processing Technique (통합 이미지 처리기법 기반의 PLF를 위한 Swine 관리 시스템)

  • The demand for food rises proportionally as population grows. To be able to achieve sustainable supply of livestock products, efficient farm management is a necessity. With the advancement in technology it also brought innovations that could be harness in order to achieve better productivity in animal production and agriculture. Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) is a budding concept of making use of smart sensors or available devices to automatically and continuously monitor and manage livestock production. With this concept, this paper introduces a swine management system that integrates image processing technique for weight monitoring. This system captures pig images using camera, evaluate and estimate the weight base on the captured image. It is comprised of Pig Module, Breeding Module, Health and Medication Module, Weighr Module, Data Analysis Module and Report Module to help swine farm administrators better understand the performance and situation of the swine farm. This paper aims to improve the management in both small and big livestock raisers.

A Comparative Study on ‘Schiedsgutachten’ (중재감정에 관한 비교법적 연구)

  • ‘Schiedsgutachten’ is more of a law phenomenon that appears frequently in privity of contract rather than a concept that is .generally established in the positive law. There is no definition of this in the positive law which makes it difficult to put a finger on the concept but when the concerned party of the conflict puts the establishment of a fact that is a premise to the legal relationship or the right about the legal right's content or the supplementation of the legal relationship to a third party and makes an agreement to follow the third party's judgement, the process is called the contract of schiedsgutachten. At this point, the judgement of the third party is called the schiedsgutachten. This thesis strives to search for an activation of the schiedsgutachten system in Korea by analyzing and researching the systems in various European countries including Germany where the above mentioned schiedsgutachten system is relatively well-developed. First of all, the three types of schiedsgutachten in the German law will be looked into. Based on this, the theories and judicial precedents of Swiss law, French law, Italian law, and British law will be looked into as well. By doing this, similarities and distinction standards between the various countries' legal systems will be further analyzed. Along with this, the legal qualities and the binding power of the schiedsgutachten will be searched out. In Korea, the term schiedsgutachten itself is not customary as the system itself is not actively being carried out. However, in car damage compensation lawsuits which occupy a big percentage, if the schiedsgutachten system were to be used, the problem would be easily solved without progressing to lawsuits. Korea should actively seek out this system with the various models of different countries including Germany which has been introduced in this thesis as a model.

  • The "Rurban" Design is a design concept that can actively preserve and embrace natural terrain and rural resources in an effort to continuously enhance a city, and restore the community that collapsed due to industrialization and unplanned urbanization. The concentration of Seoul Metropolitan area in Korea and the destruction of rural areas and localities caused by the urban sprawl have become a difficult problem for urban development after industrialization. The development of unbalanced growth and the environmental damage remain as issues as well. The tradition and diversity restoration of the New Urbanism paradigm, which was presented in the latter half of the twentieth century, has been an alternative plan for a big city that had experienced industrialization and urbanization at an early phase. However, there is a limit of application to European and North American cities. The philosophical concept of "Rurban Design" is to apply the use of rural elements more directly, and to outline resource conservation, proper consumption, and suitable scale. In all considerations, this will be a practical strategy to complement the limitations of New Urbanism with its design capacity that maximizes the characteristics of the region.

  • In transportation networks, searching speed and result accuracy are becoming more critical on searching minimum path algorithm. Current $A^*$ algorithm has a big advantage of high searching speed. However, it has disadvantage of complicated searching network and low accuracy rate of finding the minimum path algorithm. Therefore, this study developed $A^*$ algorithm's heuristic function and focused on improving it's disadvantages. Newly developed function in this study contains the area concept, not the line concept. During the progress, this study adopts the idea of a heavier node that remains lighter to the target node is better that the lighter node that becomes heavier when it is connected to the other. Lastly, newly developed algorithm has the feedback function, which allows the larger accuracy value of heuristic than before. This developed algorithm tested on real network, and proved that developed algorithm is useful.

Development of a Moldboard Plow to Invert Furrow Slice at the Same Position (토양의 제자리 반전을 위한 몰드보드 플라우의 개발)

  • On the basis of design theory of soil inversion, two types of moldboard plow with secondary soil mover was designed and constructed to invert furrow slice at same position with furrow bottom. A series of soil bin experiment was carried to investigate the performance of prototypes. First prototype of new concept plow showed two kinds of problems during the preliminary experiment. For the plowing depth of 6cut the prototype did not invert the furrow slice, instead it just cut furrow bottom and the furrow slice returned to the original position. For the plowing depth of 8cm, there was soil clogging problem at the rear part of plow. From the above results it was concluded that the first prototype can not be used for the inversion of furrow slice at same position with furrow bottom. Second prototype could invert furrow slice at the same position with furrow bottom, but the performance was affected by soil moisture content soil hardness and plowing speed very much. For the higher soil moisture content, for the higher soil hardness and higher plowing speed, the prototype showed higher soil inversion performance. For the second prototype the inversion ratio was almost 100%, inversion angle was in the range of 90 to 100 degree and side displacement was less than 4 cm. But the furrow slice was not continuous, it was cut in the length of 30 to 40 cm. The reason why the furrow slice was cut in that length is blamed for the design of moldboard surface. The specific draft of prototype was in the range of 37.24 kN/㎡ to 42.14 kN/㎡ this value is a little higher than that of the conventional plow, or from 30.38 kN/㎡ to 33.32 kN/㎡. But the difference was not so big. The inversion performance of the second prototype for the field experiment was much better than that of soil bin experiment due to the better soil and operational conditions. Sticky and compacted soil conditions, and higher plowing speed was suitable for the plowing operation of the second prototype

  • The early web technology was 2D type and exchange of information was passive generally. AS the time had passed, users wanted to participate in the 3D environment which is similar to real world actively. However VRML which is expected to bring big changes of the web environment has not been expanded owing to various circumstances. At a recent Web 2.0 is the most popular topic in the Internet business. Basic concept of Web 2.0 is implementation of comfortable UI(User Interface) and implementation of more active web than previous web. Concept of RIA(Rich Internet Application) is one of the Web 2.0 important technologies. In this paper, we designed and implemented Web Environmental Sensor Data System which has fantastic UI and various functions by using Flex.

An IoT Patent Trend Analysis for Technological Convergence on Hyper Connected Society (초연결시대 기술융합을 위한 사물 인터넷 기술의 특허동향 분석)

  • Internet of Things (IoT) is possibly the most widely discussed technological concept in today's technology circles. This technology is expected to dramatically change not only how we work but also how we live. The concept of IoT basically means a web of connected devices which can be controlled over a data network. With cost of technology required to control these devices going down and increasing internet connectivity through smartphones, IoT is expected to be an all pervasive technology in the next 10 years. In this paper, we study the technological landscape of this fast growing technology domain from an Intellectual Property (Patents) perspective. We find that the patent distribution in this domain is very fragmented with the top patent applicants in the field holding around 5% of the total patents. Especially, the US geography has seen the maximum patent filings and is closely followed by the big Asian markets of Japan and Korea.

  • Single domain model like DataLake framework is in spotlight because it can improve data efficiency and process data smarter in big data environment, where large scaled business system generates huge amount of data. In particular, efficient operation of network, storage, and computing resources in logical single domain model is very important for physically partitioned multi-site data process. Based on the advantages of Data Lake framework, we define and extend the concept of Connected Data Architecture and functions of DataLake framework for integrating multiple sites in various domains and managing the lifecycle of data. Also, we propose the design of CDA-based AI service and utilization scenarios in various application domain.

Simulation Study on Search Strategies for the Reconnaissance Drone (정찰 드론의 탐색 경로에 대한 시뮬레이션 연구)

  • The use of drone-bots is demanded in times regarding the reduction of military force, the spread of the life-oriented thought, and the use of innovative technology in the defense through the fourth industrial revolution. Especially, the drone's surveillance and reconnaissance are expected to play a big role in the future battlefield. However, there are not many cases in which the concept of operation is studied scientifically. In this study, We propose search algorithms for reconnaissance drone through simulation analysis. In the simulation, the drone and target move linearly in continuous space, and the target is moving adopting the Random-walk concept to reflect the uncertainty of the battlefield. The research investigates the effectiveness of existing search methods such as Parallel and Spiral Search. We analyze the probabilistic analysis for detector radius and the speed on the detection probability. In particular, the new detection algorithms those can be used when an enemy moves toward a specific goal, PS (Probability Search) and HS (Hamiltonian Search), are introduced. The results of this study will have applicability on planning the path for the reconnaissance operations using drone-bots.
