  • This paper describes as Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry system which has been designed for measuring vibration patterns and quantitative measurement of vibration amplitude fields by using the time average method on a object. Visbility of fringe patterns is more improved by using the phase stepping and frame average method to reduce speckle and electric noise. And a bias vibration is introduced into the reference beam to shift the $\frac{2}{0}$ fringes so that fringe shift algorithms can be used to determine vibration amplitude. The experimental results are compared to those of the FFT analyzer and the FEM model analysis.

  • We have theoretically analyzed the monolithic integration of vertical cavity lasers with depleted optical thyristor (VCL-DOT) structure and experimentally demonstrated optical logic gates such as AND-gate, OR-gate, and INVERTER implemented by VCL-DOT for an optical programmable gate array. The optical AND and OR gates have been realized by changing a input bias of the single VCL-DOTs and all kinds of optical logic functions are also implemented by adjusting an intensity of the reference input beams into the differential VCL-DOTs. To achieve the high sensitivity, high slope efficiency and low threshold current, a small active region of lasing part and a wide detecting area are simultaneously designed by using a selective oxidation process. The fabricated devices clearly show nonlinear s-shaped current-voltage characteristics and lasing characteristics of a low threshold current with 0.65 mA and output spectrum at 854 nm.

  • This paper proposes an efficient functional verification environment of microprocessor. This verification environment consists of test vector generator part, simulator part, and comparator part. To enhance efficiency of verification, it use a bias random test vector generator. In a part of simulation, retargetable instruction level simulator is used for reference model. This verification environment is excellent to find error which is not detected by general test vector and will become a good guide to find new error type

  • This paper presents the on-board attitude determination algorithm for LEO (Low Earth Orbit) three-axis stabilized spacecraft. Two advanced star trackers and a three-axis Inertial Reference Unit (IRU) are assumed to be attitude sensors. The gyro in the IRU provides a direct measurement of the attitude rates. However, the attitude estimation error increases with time due to the gyro drift and noise. An update filter with measurements of star trackers and/or sun sensor is designed to update these gyro drift bias and to compensate the attitude error. Kalman Filter is adapted for the on-board update filter algorithm. Simulation results will be presented to investigate the attitude pointing performance.

  • Beef samples of loin eye area from New Zealand, USA and three quality grades of Hanwoo were analyzed using near infrared spectrophotometer with reference values from laboratory optical Chromameter to determine effective spectrum range and mathematical treatment for determination of color values. $R^2s$ of prediction models were not improved much by calibrating with whole light range (400~2500 nm) compared to using visible range (400~1100 nm). Standard errors of calibration and prediction were influenced by possible bias due to sampling non-homogeneous sample sources. However, partial differentiation in the first order was more stable against sampling biases than second derivatives of the spectra. Lightness value was little different among the five sample sources of beef. Beef samples from USA were brighter and more reddish than beefs of Hanwoo or from New Zealand (p<0.05). Yellowness of USA beef was the highest followed by beef from New Zealand, which was also higher than Hanwoo beefs of three quality grades (p<0.05).

  • A new guidance synthesis for anti-ship missiles to control impact angle and impact time is proposed in this paper. The flight vehicle is assumed as a 1st order lag system to consider more practical system. The proposed guidance synthesis enhances the survivability of anti-ship missiles because multiple anti-ship missiles with the proposed synthesis can hit the target simultaneously. The control input to satisfy constraints of zero miss distance and impact angle, and the feedforward bias control input to control impact time constitute the guidance law. The former is from trajectory shaping guidance, the latter is from neural network. And particle swarm optimization method is introduced to furnish reference input and output for learning in neural network. The performance of the proposed synthesis in the accuracy of impact time and angle is validated by numerical examples.

  • Photoelectrochemical water splitting is considered as a promising method of transforming solar energy into chemical energy stored in the type of hydrogen. An n-type $WO_3$ semiconductor is one of the most promising photoanodes for hydrogen production from water splitting. Films annealed at lower temperatures consisted of amorphous, whereas films annealed above $500^{\circ}C$ comprised solely of monoclinic $WO_3$. In this study, we observed photoactivity of $WO_3$ as increasing thickness of $WO_3$. And it shows good photoacivity as thickness increases. Also we tried to improve photoactivity through surface modification and bulk modification by using hydrogen treatment and conducting polymer. The photocurrent was measured in potentiostatic method with the three electrode system. A Pt wire and Ag / AgCl electrode were used as the counter electrode and the reference electrode, respectively. photocurrent-time (I-T) curve was measured at a bias potential of 0.79 V.

  • Recent development of ultra-high and high degree Earth geopotential model opens new avenues to determine the Earth gravity field through spectral techniques to a very high accuracy and resolution. However, due to data availability, quality, and type, the performance of these new EGMs needs to be validated in regional or local scale geoid modeling. For establishing the best reference surface of geoid determination, recent geopotential models are evaluated using GPS/Leveling-derived geometric geoid and the Korean gravimetrical GEOID (KGEOID98) developed by National Geography Institute in 1998. Graphical and statistical comparisons are made for EGM96, GFZ97, PGM2000A and GPM98A models. The mean and standard deviation of difference between geometric height and geoid undulation calculated from GFZ97 are $1.9\pm{46.7}\;cm$. It is shown that the GFZ97 and the GPM98A models are better than the others in the Korean peninsula because the GFZ97 has a smaller bias. It means that the KGEOID98 needs some improvement using the GFZ97 instead of EGM96.

  • The control rod worth sensitivity to the neutron detector position in the rod drop experiment is studied by the time-dependent Monte Carlo (TDMC) neutron transport calculations for AGN-201K educational reactor and the Kyoto University Critical Assembly. The TDMC simulations of the rod drop experiments are conducted by the Seoul National University Monte Carlo (MC) code, McCARD, yielding time-dependent neutron densities at detector positions. The detector-position-dependent results of the total control rod worth calculated by the extrapolation, the integral counting, and the inverse methods are compared with the numerical reference using the MC eigenvalue calculations and the experimental results. From these comparisons, it is observed that the total control rod worth can be estimated with a considerable difference depending on the detector position through the rod drop experiment. The proposed TDMC simulation of the rod drop experiment can be applied for searching a better detector position or quantifying a bias for the control rod worth measurement.
