공공도서관의 브랜드 연상 요인이 20대의 고객 만족 및 충성도에 미치는 영향 (The effect of Brand Association in Public Libraries on Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty in Public Libraries - Focused on the 20s)

  • 정보통신기술의 발달로 정보 자원을 제공하는 채널의 수가 증가하면서 공공도서관은 새로운 도전에 직면하고 있다. 공공도서관이 정보 서비스와 관련한 역할을 수행하여야 한다는 대중의 인식에는 변함이 없지만, 도서관을 둘러싼 환경이 변화하고 있으며 공중의 요구 또한 다양해지고 있으므로, 공공도서관 역시 그들의 고유성을 강화하고, 유사한 서비스를 제공하는 다른 조직과의 차별화 방안을 마련할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 그 대안 중 하나로 '브랜딩'을 제안하였다. 한국의 20대를 대상으로 진행된 이 연구는 예비 연구를 통해 공공도서관만의 고유한 브랜드 연상 요인을 발견하였고, 이 각각의 요인들이 고객 만족과 충성도에 미치는 영향을 통계적으로 검증하였다. 분석 결과, 속성 연상 중 자료 기반 서비스(제품), 혜택, 태도 연상이 두 종속변수에 모두 영향을 미치는 요인으로 드러났으며, 속성 연상 중 공간/장소 이미지(비제품)는 충성도에 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하였다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 토대로, 공공도서관의 브랜딩 도입에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.

What are the benefits and challenges of multi-purpose dam operation modeling via deep learning : A case study of Seomjin River

  • Multi-purpose dams are operated accounting for both physical and socioeconomic factors. This study aims to evaluate the utility of a deep learning algorithm-based model for three multi-purpose dam operation (Seomjin River dam, Juam dam, and Juam Control dam) in Seomjin River. In this study, the Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) algorithm is applied to predict hourly water level of the dam reservoirs over 2002-2021. The hyper-parameters are optimized by the Bayesian optimization algorithm to enhance the prediction skill of the GRU model. The GRU models are set by the following cases: single dam input - single dam output (S-S), multi-dam input - single dam output (M-S), and multi-dam input - multi-dam output (M-M). Results show that the S-S cases with the local dam information have the highest accuracy above 0.8 of NSE. Results from the M-S and M-M model cases confirm that upstream dam information can bring important information for downstream dam operation prediction. The S-S models are simulated with altered outflows (-40% to +40%) to generate the simulated water level of the dam reservoir as alternative dam operational scenarios. The alternative S-S model simulations show physically inconsistent results, indicating that our deep learning algorithm-based model is not explainable for multi-purpose dam operation patterns. To better understand this limitation, we further analyze the relationship between observed water level and outflow of each dam. Results show that complexity in outflow-water level relationship causes the limited predictability of the GRU algorithm-based model. This study highlights the importance of socioeconomic factors from hidden multi-purpose dam operation processes on not only physical processes-based modeling but also aritificial intelligence modeling.

5G 시스템에서의 비-직교 다중 액세스(NOMA) (On Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) in 5G Systems)

  • NOMA는 차세대 유망한 무선 접속 기술 중 하나다. 중첩코딩(SC: superposition coding) 기술을 활용한 송신부와 순차적 간섭 제거(SIC: successive interference cancellation) 기술을 탑재한 수신부를 갖춘 NOMA는 다수의 바람직한 특징을 가지고 있으며, 기존의 LTE에서 채택하고 있는 직교 다중 접속(OMA) 방식인 직교 주파수 분할 다중(OFDMA)기술에 비해 장점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 5G 시스템에서의 NOMA에 관한 최근의 연구 동향을 분석하였다. 먼저, NOMA의 기본 개념을 논하고 장래 무선 기술 분야에서의 그 중요성을 진단하였다. 다음은, 5G 시스템에서의 NOMA에 대한 가장 최근의 주요 기술들을 분석하고, 다양한 항목별로 분류하여 제시하였다. 마지막으로 NOMA의 성능을 수치해석 결과를 통해 분석하고; NOMA의 현안과 난제에 기반하여 향후 해결해야 할 이슈들을 제시하였다.

보행로봇 재활치료가 편마비 뇌졸중 환자의 보행능력에 미치는 효과: 혼합연구설계 (The Effects of Robot-Assisted Rehabilitation on the Gait Ability of Stroke Patients with Hemiplegia: A Mixed Methods Research Study)

  • Purpose: This study used a mixed methods research design in an attempt to verify the effects of robot-assisted rehabilitation on the gait ability of stroke patients with hemiplegia, and thereby further understand the benefits and challenges of stroke patients' experiences relying on robot-assisted rehabilitation. Methods: An exploratory sequential mixed methods study design was used in order to combine both quantitative and qualitative data. For the quantitative data collection, a total of 30 stroke patients with hemiplegia were recruited from one rehabilitation hospital. Qualitative data were collected through individual interviews using semi-structured questionnaires for a group of 15 patients who were currently undergoing robot-assisted rehabilitation. The data were analyzed through qualitative content analysis. Results: As a result of the quantitative analysis, there were significant differences between the two groups in terms of daily living activity patterns, total number of steps, and average walking speed. As a result of the qualitative analysis, the four main themes derived consisted of, 'curiosity about the usage of robot-assisted rehabilitation,' 'pleasure experienced while using the robots,' 'insufficient information about robots,' and 'a lack of education about robot-assisted rehabilitation.' Conclusions: Robot-assisted rehabilitation had a significant effect on the walking ability of stroke patients with hemiplegia. Additionally, stroke patients with hemiplegia experienced difficulty during the course of their robot-assisted rehabilitation, due to a lack of sufficient information on correct usage techniques. These quantitative and qualitative findings could provide the basic foundation for the development of an educational program on robot-assisted rehabilitation.

International case study comparing PSA modeling approaches for nuclear digital I&C - OECD/NEA task DIGMAP

  • Nuclear power plants are increasingly being equipped with digital I&C systems. Although some probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) models for the digital I&C of nuclear power plants have been constructed, there is currently no specific internationally agreed guidance for their modeling. This paper presents an initiative by the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency called "Digital I&C PSA - Comparative application of DIGital I&C Modelling Approaches for PSA (DIGMAP)", which aimed to advance the field towards practical and defendable modeling principles. The task, carried out in 2017-2021, used a simplified description of a plant focusing on the digital I&C systems important to safety, for which the participating organizations independently developed their own PSA models. Through comparison of the PSA models, sensitivity analyses as well as observations throughout the whole activity, both qualitative and quantitative lessons were learned. These include insights on failure behavior of digital I&C systems, experience from models with different levels of abstraction, benefits from benchmarking as well as major contributors to the core damage frequency and those with minor effect. The study also highlighted the challenges with modeling of large common cause component groups and the difficulties associated with estimation of key software and common cause failure parameters.

Searching for the viability of using thorium-based accident-tolerant fuel for VVER-1200

  • This study explores the feasibility of employing (U, Th)-based accident tolerant fuels (ATFs), specifically (0.8UO2, 0.2ThO2), (0.8UN, 0.2ThN), and (0.8UC, 0.2ThC). The investigation assesses the overall performance of these proposed fuel materials in comparison to the conventional UO2, focusing on deep neutronic and thermal-hydraulic (Th) analyses. Neutronic analysis utilized the MCNPX code, while COMSOL Multiphysics was employed for thermal-hydraulic analysis. The primary objective of this research is to overcome the limitations associated with traditional UO2 fuel by exploring alternative fuel materials that offer advantages in terms of abundance and potential improvements in performance and safety. Given the limited abundance of UO2, long-term sustainable nuclear energy production faces challenges. From a neutronic standpoint, the U-Th based fuels demonstrated remarkable fuel cycle lengths, except (0.8UN, 0.2ThN), which exhibited the minimum fuel cycle length and, consequently, the lowest fuel burn-up. Regarding thermal-hydraulic performance, (0.8UN, 0.2ThN) exhibited outstanding performance with significant margins against fuel melting compared to the other materials. Overall, when considering the integrated performance, the most favourable results were obtained with the use of the (0.8UC, 0.2ThC) fuel configurations. This study contributes valuable insights into the potential benefits of (U, Th)-based ATFs as a promising avenue for enhanced nuclear fuel performance.

대학교육의 스마트러닝에 대한 인식 및 활용 방안 (Awareness and Utilization Plan of the Smart Learning in University Education)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 대학교육의 스마트러닝에 대한 인식 및 활용방안을 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 A지역 대학생 345명을 대상으로 스마트 기기 이용현황, 스마트러닝에 대한 인식, 활용 요구에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 대학생들의 스마트 기기를 포함한 미디어 기기 일일 평균 사용시간은 4시간 이상이 가장 많았고, 스마트기기 사용 용도는 SNS 사용, 게임 및 오락, 일정관리 등이었다. 둘째, 대학생들이 인식하는 대학교육에서 스마트러닝의 장점은 학습 및 과제해결부담 감소가 가장 많았고, 장애요인은 수업몰입의 어려움이었다. 셋째, 대학 스마트러닝에 대한 요구는 스마트러닝을 위한 교육, 강의실 구축에 대한 의견이 가장 많았다. 본 연구를 통해 향후 스마트러닝을 대학교육에 활용할 수 있는 방안과 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다.

한의 종양학 연구 분야에서의 Propensity Score Matching Method 적용에 대한 문헌 고찰 (A Literature Review on the Application of the Propensity Score Matching Method in the Field of Asian Oncology)

  • The Randomized Control Trial (RCT) is the most well-established and widely used statistical methodology in clinical research; however, applying thorough RCT to cancer patients presents challenges such as ethical concerns, high costs, short clinical periods, and limitations in collecting various side effects. To address this issue, the propensity score matching method, which takes advantage of the benefits of observational research while compensating for the drawbacks of randomized control trials, is used in a variety of fields. In recent years, 28 studies on the effectiveness of Korean medicine on tumors have been conducted abroad using the Propensity Score Matching Method, but none have been conducted in Korea. The majority of studies have focused on liver cancer, colon cancer, lung cancer, and stomach cancer, with endpoints such as survival time, incidence rate, quality of life, and treatment outcomes revealing statistical differences in how Korean medicine intervention affects treatment outcomes. As a result, well-established studies using the propensity matching score methodology should be useful in evaluating the impact of Korean medicine in oncology treatments.

용담호의 홍수터 적용을 위한 문제점 및 이점 조사 연구 (Investigation on the water quality challenges and benefits of buffer zone application to Yongdam reservoir, Republic of Korea)

  • 자연기반해법 중 하나인 홍수터는 블루-그린 네트워크로서 유역의 환경, 사회 및 경제적 이점을 제공한다. 본 연구는 용담호 지류의 수질에 대한 홍수터의 적용 효과를 평가하였다. 특히, 홍수터의 문제점과 개선점을 파악하고 제시하였다. 2021년 9월부터 2022년 4월까지 용담호 내 총 6개 지점에서 수질 및 토양 시료를 채취하였다. 수질 분석 결과, 모니터링 지점 중 상전면 갈현리 하류(SG_W_D2)에서 탁도, 총 부유물질(TSS), 화학적 산소요구량(COD), 총인(TP), 총질소(TN) 농도가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 9월과 10에 실시된 샘플링은 녹조발생에 기여 가능한 것으로 분석되었다. 또한, 토양 오염도 분석을 통해 모든 농경지에서 높은 TN및 TP 농도를 보여 농경지의 영양물질 축적량이 높은 것으로 평가되었다. TN 농도는 정천면 월평리 농경지(JW_S_A), 주천면 신양리(JS_S_A) 순으로 나타났으며, 가장 낮은 곳은 상전면 갈현리 원지반(SG_S_O)로 조사되었다. 본 연구에서 확인된 홍수터 유형 중 II-A 유형, II-B 유형, III 유형은 블루-그린네트워크의 기능을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나, 초기 홍수터의 경우 블루-그린네트워크를 고려하지 않아 설계가 부실 및 성능이 저하되는 결과가 초래되기에, 이러한 홍수터의 성능을 최적화하기 위해서는 블루-그린 네트워크를 고려한 설계 개선 및 보수가 필요하다. 본 연구 결과는 향후 홍수터 설계시 활용 가능할 것을 사료된다.

Assessment of Public Engagement Approach in Various Project Stages: The Case Study of Central Market, Hong Kong

  • The present research evaluates the public engagement approach in various project stages. Hong Kong had long been criticized as top-down and executive-led jurisdiction by overlooking the importance of cultural heritage and public concerns on public projects. It was suggested to the government to engage public and provide sufficient public consultation. Thereby, the government announced a series of revitalization and conversion measures in Policy Address in 2008. To carry out the measures, there were voices, because of diverse and sometimes conflicting interests, over the effect of revitalization project. On the other hand, studies reveal that there are benefits of revitalization and enhancement of public engagement approach. In pursuit of the subject, the present research aims at studying the Central Market as a case study pilot project. In October 2009, the Policy Address announced that the Central Market be revitalized. Tasked to implement the project, Urban Renewal Authority (URA) continued to adopt the people-oriented approach as the guiding principle in its core business and in heritage preservation and revitalization so as to create a sustainable development. Between government and the public, URA acts as a bridge for communication. As between URA and the public, URA conducted public consultation, set up an ad-hoc committee in January 2016 to be in charge of the project and will continuously inform the government and public with the updates and project progress. The main objectives of the present research are to assess the advantages and challenges in different stages of public engagement approach, to evaluate the engagement system, to give a comprehensive view for participation of stakeholders, and to find out effective strategies to enhance civil engagement. Research was achieved through interviews to key persons in the project, questionnaire that was distributed to community and experts in the field. Case Study of the Central Market was studied and investigated using different sources, such as newspapers, journals, etc, to evaluate the degree of public engagement in the project. Both detailed qualitative methodological approaches of interview, questionnaire, and case study, act as a synergy to demonstrate the research objectives and provide the comprehensive perceptions on the revitalization project. The results show that public participants in revitalized project have generated considerable value enhancements to social-cultural, environmental, political and economic aspect. This study provides valuable insights that the public participation can make positive contribution to sustainability in the city. The findings indicate that no any single system is flawless therefore seeking both public opinions and professional advices are also important as a comprehensive approach to achieve higher sustainability of the building.
