반달가슴곰에서 불임을 위한 복강경 이용 난관 절제술 1례 (Laparoscopic Salpingectomy for Sterilization in an Asian Black Bear (Ursus thibetanus))

  • 9살, 170 kg, 암컷 반달가슴곰이 불임 수술을 위해 내원하였다. 수술 전 신체 검사에서 특이 사항은 없었으며 복강경을 이용한 난관 절제술이 실시 되었다. 제대 아래에 만들어진 첫 번째 port에 장착 된 $25^{\circ}$ 복강경을 통해 복강을 확인 하였다. 정중 옆에 만들어진 두 번째 및 세 번째 port에 장착 된 비외상성 겸자와 혈관 소락용 기구를 이용하여 난관 과 난관간막을 소락하였다. 소락 된 부분에서 출혈이 확인 되지 않았으며 4주 후 신체 검사에서 어떤 이상도 발견 되지 않았다. 본 증례는 반달가슴곰에서 불임을 위한 복강경 이용 난관 절제술이 실시 된 첫 번째 증례이다.

Therapeutic Effect of Whole Bear Bile and Its Components against Croton Oil-Induced Rectal Inflammation in Rats

  • Bear bile has been used as a therapeutic for cerebral and coronary thrombosis, convulsion, hepatitis, jaundice, and abscess in traditional oriental medicine. In recent decades, the effects of bile acids on cancer, cholestasis, and liver injury have been investigated in many studies. In this study, we investigated the anti-inflammatory effects of whole bear bile (WBB) and its two major components, chenodeoxycholic acid (CDCA) and ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), on rectal inflammation in rats. Bile acids in WBB were quantitatively analyzed by HPLC. Rectal inflammation was induced in male Sprague-Dawley rats by insertion of croton oil-saturated cotton tips. WBB, UDCA or CDCA solution was orally administered to rats one hour after induction of rectal inflammation. Rats were sacrificed 4 or 24 hours after induction of rectal inflammation. The evaluation included measurement of weight and thickness of rectum and histopathologic examination of rectal tissue. Furthermore, we examined the inhibitory effect of WBB, UDCA or CDCA against NO production in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. The contents of UDCA and CDCA in WBB were $39.26{\mu}g/mg$ and $47.11{\mu}g/mg$, respectively. WBB treatment significantly reduced the weight and thickness of rectum compared with UDCA or CDCA treatment. The inhibition of NO production by WBB, UDCA and CDCA in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells was much higher than that by the control. And, WBB treatment suppressed the induction of NO synthase in rectum homogenates. These results suggest that the anti-inflammatory effect of WBB is related to the suppression of NO synthase induction and the inhibition of NO production by UDCA, CDCA and other bile acids of WBB.

  • KASI and Seoul National University developed the Fast Imaging Solar Spectrograph (FISS) as one of major scientific instruments for the 1.6 m New Solar Telescope (NST) and installed it in the Coude room of the NST at Big Bear Solar Observatory (BBSO) in May, 2010. The major objective of the FISS is to study the fine-scale structures and dynamics of plasma in the photosphere and chromosphere. To achieve it, the FISS is required to take data with a spectral resolution higher than $10^5$ at the spectrograph mode and a temporal resolution less than 10 seconds at the imaging mode. The FISS is a spectrograph using Echelle grating and has characteristics that can observe dual bands (H${\alpha}$ and CaII 8542) simultaneously and perform fast imaging using fast raster scan and two fast CCD cameras. In this paper, we introduce briefly the whole process of FISS development from the requirement analysis to the first observations.

가역접근법을 이용한 일유출량 자료의 비선형 예측 (Nonlinear Forecasting of Daily Runoff Using Inverse Approach Method)

  • 기존의 거의 모든 수문학적 연구에 있어서, 시스템의 특성을 파악한 뒤 예측을 실시하는 표준접근법이 채택되어왔다. 그러나 최근 들어 시스템의 특성분석에 앞서 예측을 실시하고, 상태공간 매개변수가 시스템의 특성분석단계가 아닌 예측단계에서 평가되는 가역접근법이 제안되었다. 본 연구에서는 최근에 제안된 가역접근법과 기존에 널리 적용되어온 표준접근법을 이론적 카오스 시계열과 Idaho주 Bear강의 일유출량 자료에 적용함으로써, 가역접근법의 적용성을 검토하고 카오스 시계열의 특성을 알아보았으며, 카오스이론이 적용된 비선형 예측기법으로는 부분근사화 기법을 이용하였다. 카오스 특성 분석을 통해, 이론적 카오스 시계열과 Idaho주 Bear강의 일유출량 시계열 자료 모두에서 카오스 특성이 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 200일에 대한 1, 3, 5일 예측 결과, 가역접근법이 표준접근법에 비해 우수함을 알 수 있었다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the composition of the arbitration costs in ICC Rule of Arbitration and to examine how each item of the costs is determined. Furthermore this author tired to find the principles or criteria deciding which of the party should bear them or in what proportion they shall be home by the parties in Article 31. Thus this author could find three common approaches. First, all of the costs are home by the losing party, or Second, all of the costs are allocated in proportion to the result of award in each case. Third, all of the costs determined by the Court as shared equally by the parties and both parties bear their own costs. But, both parties may include their intention in accordance with the principle of party autonomy. For example if the parties with to ensure that the arbitration costs be shared equally and that the arbitrator make no allocation of costs and fees, the following sentence could be added to the arbitration clause. "All costs and expenses of the arbitrators (and the arbitral institution) shall be home by the parties equally; each party shall bear the costs and expenses, including attorneys' fees, of its own counsel, experts, witnesses and preparation and presentation of its case."

중국산 반달곰의 웅담액 생산량에 관한 연구 (Study on the Production of Bile Juice by Chinese Moon Bear S. Y. Baig)

  • This study was conducted to investigation into production of bile juice and bile powder by Chinese moon bear. The color of bile juice and bile powder were appeared to bronze and bronze or yellowlish brown. Average production of bile juice(ml) and bile powder(g) per head and the powdered rate(%) of bile juice were 98.4ml, 20.8g and 20.4% during a surgical operation. Production of bile juice(ml) and bile powder(g) per head were appeared to 120.7ml-139.5m1 and 8.5g-10.2g during experimental period(31 days), respectively. Average daily production of bile powder(g) per head and the collectting days of bile juice was decreased; to 6.7g and 52.5 day in summer compared with another season(10.3g and 60 days) The production of bile juice and bile powder was not difference between seven times collection in 7 days and once collection in 7 days.

FISS Observations of Shocks in the Solar Chromosphere

  • Shocks are thought to be important in the dynamics and heating of the solar chromosphere. The observational determination of shock parameters, however, has been hardly done because of the difficulty of observation at a high spatial, temporal and spectral resolution, and the lack of an effective method of inferring physical parameters from spectral data. Our inversion of the spectral data of the $H{\alpha}$ and Ca II 854.2 nm lines simultaneously taken from an intranetwork area, produced temporal profiles of temperature as well as line-of-sight velocities, from which we infer that three-minute chromospheric oscillations prevailing in the upper chromosphere are in fact trains of strong shocks with a strength of about two and a propagation speed of 20 km s-1 that carry a mechanical energy flux of 500 W m-2 upward. Our result supports the notion that shocks dominate the heating of the upper chromosphere, and probably the corona as well, at least in intranetwork regions of the quiet sun.

Lymphosarcoma in a Brown Bear (Ursus arctos)

  • An example of lymphoblastic lymphosarcoma was diagnosed in a 7-year-old male brown bear (Ursus arctos) that died after having a 7-month history of depression, anorexia and watery diarrhea. Grossly the mesenteric lymph nodes were enlarged to approximately 4 to 6 times their normal size and histologically diagnosed as lymphoblastic lymphosarcoma. The small intestinal mucosa was corrugated and had severe mural thickening due to infiltrated neoplastic cells. Hepatic metastasis was also noted. the mother of this bear which died at the age of 20 also had similar gross changes on necropsy, but histological examination was not performed at that time and therefore the exact type of neoplasm remained to be determined. Since the daughter also died of neoplasm, genetic factor could be suspected in this family. This is the first reported case of lymphosarcoma in Ursidae in Korea. As an incidental finding, endogenous lipid pneumonia was noted in the lung.

종 특이 PCR과 PCR-RFLP를 이용한 웅담과 기타 담류의 감별 방법 (Identification of Fel ursi and Cattle and Pig Bile Juices by speciesspecific PCR and PCR-RFLP)

  • Objective : This study developed species-specific PCR and PCR-RFLP to detect the adulteration of Fel ursi products with cattle and pig bile juices. Methods : All the primers for PCR and PCR-RFLP in this study were designed based on nucleotide sequences of cytochrome b genes in the mitochondria. Results : The species-specific PCR amplified a DNA fragment of 214, 214, 295, and 167 bp from Fel ursi product, bear fur, cattle bile juice, and pig bile juice, respectively. The survey using the speciesspecific PCR indicated that some of commercial Fel ursi products were adulterated with cattle and pig bile juices. PCR-RFLP using the restriction endonucleases, HaeIII and HinfI enabled differentiation among Fel ursi product, cattle bile juice, and pig bile juice. Bear furs from two animals showed variations in PCR-RFLP patterns with HaeIII. Discussion : The detection methods of the species-specific PCR and PCR-RFLP could be useful in eliminating adulterated Fel ursi products from the market.

  • 본 연구는 실버계층의 레저스포츠 참여정도에 따른 참여제약요인을 규명하는 것이므로 이러한 취지에서 55세-64세의 뉴 실버세대와 65세 이상의 실버세대를 모집단으로 선정하였다. 의도적 표집방법(purposeful sampling method)을 사용하여 55세 이상의 레저스포츠 참여자를 모집단으로 총 933부를 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 주당참여빈도는 신체 심리적 부담, 시설, 정보 기술, 대인관계, 관심부족, 시간부족, 비용부담에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 하루운동시간은 신체 심리적 부담, 시설, 정보 기술, 대인관계, 관심부족, 시간부족, 비용부담에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 참여경력은 신체 심리적 부담, 시설, 정보 기술, 대인관계, 관심부족, 시간부족, 비용부담에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다.
