LCT: A Lightweight Cross-domain Trust Model for the Mobile Distributed Environment

  • In the mobile distributed environment, an entity may move across domains with great frequency. How to utilize the trust information in the previous domains and quickly establish trust relationships with others in the current domain remains a challenging issue. The classic trust models do not support cross-domain and the existing cross-domain trust models are not in a fully distributed way. This paper improves the outstanding Certified Reputation (CR) model and proposes a Lightweight Cross-domain Trust (LCT) model for the mobile distributed environment in a fully distributed way. The trust certifications, in which the trust ratings contain various trust aspects with different interest preference weights, are collected and provided by the trustees. Furthermore, three factors are comprehensively considered to ease the issue of collusion attacks and make the trust certifications more accurate. Finally, a cross-domain scenario is deployed and implemented, and the comprehensive experiments and analysis are conducted. The results demonstrate that our LCT model obviously outperforms the Bayesian Network (BN) model and the CR model in our cross-domain scenario, and significantly improves the successful interaction rates of the honest entities without increasing the risks of interacting with the malicious entities.

  • This research broadens the prime concern of nuclear power plant operations from safe performance to both economic and safe performance. First emergency diesel generator is identified as one of main contributors for the lost plant availability through the review of plants forced outage records. The framework of an integrated architecture for performing modern on-line condition for operational availability improvement is configured in this work. For the development of the comprehensive sensor networks for complex target systems, an integrated methodology incorporating a structural hierarchy, a functional hierarchy, and a fault-system matrix is formulated. The second part of our research is development of intelligent diagnosis and maintenance advisory system, which employs Bayesian Belief networks (BBNs) as a high level reasoning tool incorporating inherent uncertainty use in probabilistic inference. Our prototype diagnosis algorithms are represented explicitly through topological symbols and links between them in a causal direction. As new evidence from sensor network development is entered into the model especially, our advisory of system provides operational advice concerning both availability and safety, so that the operator is able to determine the likely modes, diagnose the system state, locate root causes, and take the most advantageous action.   • 여객선 관련 해양사고는 발생 가능한 빈도는 낮지만 사고 발생 시 심각성은 대단히 큰 것이 특징이다. 이에, 여객선 안전에 관해서는 대규모 사고 발생 후 사건의 심각성을 인식하는 경향이 크다. 코스타 콘코디아 사고와 세월호 사고 이후 전세계는 여객선 안전에 관해서 새로운 인식을 갖게 되었으나 근본적인 위기 제거나 감소 방안이 미흡하여 아직도 동남아시아에서는 크고 작은 사고가 지속 발생하고 있다. 사전에 발생 가능한 위기를 식별하여 이에 대한 대응방안을 선제적으로 마련하는 것이 최적으로 고려된다. 본 연구의 목적은 현재까지 인식되었으나 이에 대한 대응방안이 수립되지 않았거나 아직까지 인식하지 못한 위기를 식별한 후 이에 대한 해결 방안으로 RCO(Risk Control Option)을 마련하기 위한 것이다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 국내외 자료를 통해 위기를 식별하고 이에 대한 분석 평가 방법을 수립하고자 한다. 연구 검토결과, 해양사고 연계 체인을 바탕으로 위기를 식별하고 이에 대한 시나리오를 구축하여 베이지안 네트워크(Bayesian Network, BN)를 이용해서 확률적으로 위기를 분석 및 평가할 수 있음을 알았다. 향후 BN을 이용한 위기 순위 결정과 RCO 구축을 진행할 예정이다.

  • A combined model of probabilistic and MLP(multi layer perceptron) model is proposed for the pattern classification of EMG( electromyogram) signals. The MLP model has a problem of not guaranteeing the global minima of error and different quality of approximations to Bayesian probabilities. The probabilistic model is, however, closely related to the estimation error of model parameters and the fidelity of assumptions. A proper combination of these will reduce the effects of the problems and be robust to input variations. Proposed model is able to get the MAP(maximum a posteriori probability) in the probabilistic model by estimating a priori probability distribution using the MLP model adaptively. This method minimize the error probability of the probabilistic model as long as the realization of the MLP model is optimal, and this is a good combination of the probabilistic model and the MLP model for the usage of MLP model reliability. Simulation results show the benefit of the proposed model compared to use the Mlp and the probabilistic model seperately and the average calculation time fro classification is about 50ms in the case of combined motion using an IBM PC 25 MHz 386model.

  • 최근 영상 인식 정보를 서비스 로봇 도메인에서 사용하기 위한 연구와 함께 전통적인 영상 인식 방법의 성능을 높이기 위한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 기존의 방법들은 기하학적 모델을 기반으로 예측 가능한 환경에서 상황을 인식하였기에 이를 실내 환경과 같은 동적인 환경에 적용하는 것은 정확도나 인식의 효율 면에서 한계를 갖는다. 이에 지식 기반 접근 방법을 통해 정확도를 항상 시키거나 계산 비용을 감소시킴으로써 영상 인식성능을 높이기 위한 다양한 연구가 있어 왔다. 본 논문에서는 서비스 로봇이 물체를 탐색할 때, 대상 물체가 다른 물체에 의해 가려짐으로써 발생하는 불확실한 상황을 해결하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 발견된 물체를 컨텍스트 정보로 사용하여 대상 물체의 존재 여부를 추론하며, 이를 위해 신뢰도를 모델링할 수 있는 확률적 모델인 베이지안 네트워크와 도메인 지식을 모델링 할 수 있는 온톨로지를 함께 사용한다. 효과적인 모델링을 위해 본 논문에서는 기본적인 물체 관계를 모듈화 하여 설계하기 위한 베이지안 네트워크 구조와 확률 값 선정 방법. 이들을 온톨로지를 기반으로 주어진 상창에 따라 결합하는 방법을 제안한다. 이는 물체 관계를 모델링할 때 발생하는 중복 설계를 감소시켜주고 유지 및 보수를 용이하게 한다. 설계된 추론 모듈은 실험 결과 5가지 장소에서 높은 정확도를 보여주었다.

Non-linear modelling to describe lactation curve in Gir crossbred cows

  • Background: The modelling of lactation curve provides guidelines in formulating farm managerial practices in dairy cows. The aim of the present study was to determine the suitable non-linear model which most accurately fitted to lactation curves of five lactations in 134 Gir crossbred cows reared in Research-CumDevelopment Project (RCDP) on Cattle farm, MPKV (Maharashtra). Four models viz. gamma-type function, quadratic model, mixed log function and Wilmink model were fitted to each lactation separately and then compared on the basis of goodness of fit measures viz. adjusted $R^2$, root mean square error (RMSE), Akaike's Informaion Criteria (AIC) and Bayesian Information Criteria (BIC). Results: In general, highest milk yield was observed in fourth lactation whereas it was lowest in first lactation. Among the models investigated, mixed log function and gamma-type function provided best fit of the lactation curve of first and remaining lactations, respectively. Quadratic model gave least fit to lactation curve in almost all lactations. Peak yield was observed as highest and lowest in fourth and first lactation, respectively. Further, first lactation showed highest persistency but relatively higher time to achieve peak yield than other lactations. Conclusion: Lactation curve modelling using gamma-type function may be helpful to setting the management strategies at farm level, however, modelling must be optimized regularly before implementing them to enhance productivity in Gir crossbred cows.

  • 최근 라이프 로그의 수집과 관리에 관련된 연구가 많이 진행 중에 있다. 또 핸드폰 카메라, 디지털 카메라, 캠코더 등의 발전으로 자신의 일상생활을 비디오로 저장하고, 인터넷을 통해 공유하는 사람도 증가하고 있다. 비디오 데이터는 많은 정보를 포함하고 있는 라이프 로그의 한 예로. 동영상의 촬영 및 수집이 활발해짐에 따라 동영상의 메타정보를 생성하고, 이를 이용해 동영상 검색과 관리에 이용하려는 연구들이 진행 중이다. 본 논문에서는 라이프 로그를 수집하고 수집된 동영상과 라이프 로그를 이용하여 의미정보를 추출하는 시스템을 제안한다. 의미정보란 사용자의 행동을 나타내는 정보로써 컴퓨터 사용, 식사, 집안일, 이동, 외출, 독서, 휴식, 일, 기타로 9가지의 의미정보를 추출한다. 제안하는 방법은 사용자로부터 GPS, 가속도센서, 캠코더를 이용해 실제 데이터를 수집하고, 전처리 과정을 통하여 특징을 추출한다. 이때 추출될 특징은 위치정보와 사용자의 상태정보 그리고 영상처리릍 통한 RGB와 HSL 색공간의 요소와 MPEG-7의 EHD(Edge Histogram Descriptor). CLD(Color Layout Descriptor)이다. 추출된 특징으로부터 사람 행동과 같은 불안정한 상황에서 강점을 보이는 확률모델 네트워크인 베이지안 네트워크를 이용하여 의미정보를 추출한다. 제안하는 방법의 유용성을 보이기 위해 실제 데이터를 수집하고 추론하고 10-Fold Cross-validation을 이용하여 데이터를 검증한다.

  • Every year, traffic accidents and traffic congestion have been rapidly increasing, Although the roadway design and signal system have been improved to relieve traffic accidents, traffic casualties and property damage do not decrease. This paper develops a real-time traffic accident detection and analysis system (RTADAS): In the proposed system, we aim to precisely detect traffic accidents at different design and flow of intersections, However, because the data collected from intersections have uncertainty and complicated causal dependency between them, we construct probability-based networks for correct accident detection.

Development and Comparison of Data Mining-based Prediction Models of Building Fire Probability

  • A lot of manpower and budgets are being used to prevent fires, and only a small portion of the data generated during this process is used for disaster prevention activities. This study develops a prediction model of fire occurrence probability based on data mining in order to more actively use these data for disaster prevention activities. For this purpose, variables for predicting fire occurrence probability of various buildings were selected and data of construction administrative system, national fire information system, and Korea Fire Insurance Association were collected and integrated data set was constructed. After appropriate data cleansing and preprocessing, various data mining methodologies such as artificial neural network, decision trees, SVM, and Naive Bayesian were used to develop a prediction model of the fire occurrence probability of buildings. The most accurate model among the derived models is Linear SVM model which shows 68.42% as experimental data and 63.54% as verification data and it is the best model to predict fire occurrence probability of buildings. As this study develops the prediction model which uses only the set values of the specific ranges, future studies may explore more opportunites to use various setting values not shown in this study.

An artificial intelligence-based design model for circular CFST stub columns under axial load

  • This paper aims to use the artificial intelligence approach to develop a new model for predicting the ultimate axial strength of the circular concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) stub columns. For this, the results of 314 experimentally tested circular CFST stub columns were employed in the generation of the design model. Since the influence of the column diameter, steel tube thickness, concrete compressive strength, steel tube yield strength, and column length on the ultimate axial strengths of columns were investigated in these experimental studies, here, in the development of the design model, these variables were taken into account as input parameters. The model was developed using the backpropagation algorithm named Bayesian Regularization. The accuracy, reliability, and consistency of the developed model were evaluated statistically, and also the design formulae given in the codes (EC4, ACI, AS, AIJ, and AISC) and the previous empirical formulations proposed by other researchers were used for the validation and comparison purposes. Based on this evaluation, it can be expressed that the developed design model has a strong and reliable prediction performance with a considerably high coefficient of determination (R-squared) value of 0.9994 and a low average percent error of 4.61. Besides, the sensitivity of the developed model was also monitored in terms of dimensional properties of columns and mechanical characteristics of materials. As a consequence, it can be stated that for the design of the ultimate axial capacity of the circular CFST stub columns, a novel artificial intelligence-based design model with a good and robust prediction performance was proposed herein.
