The consumption of mobile device batteries which are limited resources is an important criterion when circuit designers analyze and evaluate circuits. For this reason, researchers conducted researches with different models of battery consumption to analyze power consumption of mobile devices. The battery consumption model generation techniques have various characteristics depending on availability of sensors, run-time model generation, and models for using in verification and testing. However, there is lack of comparison and analysis between varied battery consumption model generation methods. In this research, we compare and evaluate the analysis methods which have been studied so far to support the circuit investigation for circuit designers. Finally, we suggest the direction of researches in battery consumption analysis using the comparison result.

Energy consumption of sensor nodes is minimized because it has limited energy generator in wireless sensor network. Electronic shelf label system is one of application fields using wireless sensor networks. Battery size of small apparatus for displaying price is restricted. Therefore its current consumption have to be minimized. Furthermore the method for minimization of peak current would be considered because life cycle of coin battery used to display or RF is vulnerable to intensity of drain current. In this paper, we analyze current consumption pattern of low-power electronic shelf label system. Then we propose the method for minimization of current consumption by modification of software and hardware. Current consumption of the system using proposed method are approximately 15 to 20 percent lower than existing system and the life cycle of the system is approximately 10 percent higher than existing system.

Offering of different attractive opportunities by different wireless technologies trends the convergence of heterogeneous networks for the future wireless communication system. To make a seamless handover among the heterogeneous networks, the optimization of the power consumption, and optimal selection of interface are the challenging issues. The access of multi interfaces simultaneously reduces the handover latency and data loss in heterogeneous handover. The mobile node (MN) maintains one interface connection while other interface is used for handover process. However, it causes much battery power consumption. In this paper we propose an efficient interface selection scheme including interface selection algorithms, interface selection procedures considering battery power consumption and user mobility with other existing parameters for overlaying networks. We also propose a priority based network selection scheme according to the service types. MN‘s battery power level, provision of QoS/QoE and our proposed priority parameters are considered as more important parameters for our interface selection algorithm. The performances of the proposed scheme are verified using numerical analysis.
Through the rapid development of latest hardware technology, high performance as well as miniaturized size is the essentials of embedded system to meet various requirements from the society. It raises possibilities of genuine realization of IoT environment whose size and battery must be considered. However, the limitation of battery persistency and capacity restricts the long battery life time for guaranteeing real-time system. To maximize battery life time, low power technology which lowers the power consumption should be highly required. Previous researches mostly highlighted improving one single type of memory to increase ones efficiency. In this paper, reversely, considering multiple memories to optimize whole memory system is the following step for the efficient low power embedded system. Regarding to that fact, this paper suggests the study of volatile memory, whose capacity is relatively smaller but much low-powered, and non-volatile memory, which do not consume any standby power to keep data, to maximize the efficiency of the system. By executing function in specific memories, non-volatile and volatile memory, the quantitative analysis of power consumption is progressed. In spite of the opportunity cost of all of theses extra works to locate function in volatile memory, higher efficiencies of both power and energy are clearly identified compared to operating single non-volatile memory.
The battery consumption and the wireless communication pattern were analyzed for the low power and the improvement of channel interferences between of Zigbee networks and WPAN(Wireless Personal Area Network). The communication patterns considering end device's battery saving during channel searching period were analyzed for low power consumption topology of Zigbee dynamic ad-hoc characteristics. And, the communication patterns were analyzed due to channel interferences between WLAN and Random Back off of Zigbee, too. As a result, the communication patterns of Zigbee's coordinator and end devices is alleviated for the longer battery life time of Zigbee's end device due to Zigbee's end device setting techniques.
Sensor nodes are the most significant part of a wireless sensor network that offers a powerful combination of sensing, processing, and communication. One major challenge while designing a sensor node is power consumption, as sensor nodes are generally battery-operated. In this study, we proposed the design of a low-power, long range-based wireless sensor node with flexibility, a compact size, and energy efficiency. Furthermore, we improved power performance by adopting an efficient hardware design and proper component selection. The Nano Power Timer Integrated Circuit is used for power management, as it consumes nanoamps of current, resulting in improved battery life. The proposed design achieves an off-time current of 38.17309 nA, which is tiny compared with the design discussed in the existing literature. Battery life is estimated for spreading factors (SFs), ranging from SF7 to SF12. The achieved battery life is 2.54 years for SF12 and 3.94 years for SF7. We present the analysis of current consumption and battery life. Sensor data, received signal strength indicator, and signal-to-noise ratio are visualized using the ThingSpeak network.
Depending upon the existence of the battery, transponder is divided into active and passive transponder. The passive transponder operates without the inner battery and so has no limitation in its operating range and life time. But the power consumption in the smartcard should be low. In this paper, the analysis and design of the passive smartcard system oerated at 125kHz is presented and is confirmed by simulation and experiment.

In this paper, is a study that analyzed the fuel consumption of hybrid tractor. Testing and analysis in order to evaluate the fuel consumption was performed. Analysis model was developed by using the SimulationX that is a commercial software. Also, map of the analysis model was modeled on the basis of test data. Test was performed using a dynamo device. The engine was tested the fuel consumption in accordance with the conditions on the load and throttle opening. The battery was tested the discharge and charge in accordance with the current amount. We verified the reliability of the analysis model by comparing the analysis results with the rest results. After considering the reliability of each analysis model was extended to the entire hybrid tractor system. To evaluate the efficiency using the analysis model, compared the fuel consumption of general tractor with hybrid tractor in the same load conditions.
A wide variety of smartphone applications is increasing the usage time of smartphone. Due to the increased time, it becomes difficult to providing stable services to users with limited battery capacity. The past works have been performed the power management of mobile device toward long-lasting battery development or low-power electric devices. However as the complexity of software embedded into system are increased, the research interests of the software power analysis is also increased. Among these studies on the software power analysis, model-based analysis technique is one of major interests because it can be able to analyze the power consumption before the development of source codes, then the analysis result can be used in the development of the software system, This paper suggests a model-based power analysis technique using UML state machine diagram. Our proposed technique estimates the power consumption by the simulation of Perti-net which is transformed from the state machine diagram.

Recently, ESS became efficient device to stabilize electric power supply system with the development SG related technology. In fact. there are some constraints to supply ESS, because of the high cost and required space, but rapid technology development for ESS will make it more useful soon. So, through this paper, we analyzed the benefit and demand effect when the battery is applied the building based on the measured energy consumption. After that, we got the conclusion that there is a volume limit in ESS application, in a benefit view point. And we realized that there is a demand violation, and the Cost-based BEMS is the best solution to enhance the effect of ESS application.
