Silk fabrics were degummed and dyed in one bath under the condition of high temperature and high pressure and the results obtained were summerized as follows. 1. The degumming ratio is nearly the same as that of two bath method under the normal condition and the optimal condition is for 30 minutes at $120^{\circ}C$. 2. The dyeing absorption ratio is a little lower than that of two bath method. 3. The tensile strength and elongation are hardly shown the difference between two methods. 4. The fastness of the dyed fabric of one bath method is a little better than that of two bath method. (light, washing, rubbing) 5. The stiffness of the silk fabric treated by one bath method is a little harshier compare to that of two bath method.
This study was conducted to select the most suitable dye bath soil of mat rush for good quality. Dry stem weight ranged from 102.5 to 107.0 g, dry stem ratio ranged from 34 to 36%, color of stem ranged from soft gray to heavy gray, degree of softness ranged from high to low and degree of floating ranged from extremely high to low. All the good quality components, such as dry stem weight, dry stem ratio, color of stem, degree of softness and degree of floating showed large variations. Hadong white ceramic soil, the superior dye bath soil of mat rush, showed relatively superior values for all the good quality components with 102.5 g in light dry stem weight, 34% in high dry stem ratio, good color of soft gray in color stem, high in degree of softness and extremely high id degree of floating. The results indicate that dye bath soils shows different adaptabilities to a particular dye bath and Hadong white ceramic soil seems to be the most suitable dye bath soil of mat rush for good quality.
In this study, efforts were made to enhance the mechanical properties of the poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) fibers of medium molecular weight(number-average degree of polymerization=1735) varying the ratio in $DMSO/H_2O$ mixed solvent and spinning/drawing conditions. The gel fibers prepared from pure DMSO were opaquely frozen in the coagulating bath of $-20^{\circ}C$. However, transparent gel fibers were formed without freezing for the mixture to contain water less than 80wt%. As the amount of water in the mixture increased the residual solvent in the coagulated gel fibers decreased ranging from 85 to 42wt%. The complex viscosity increased with increasing PVA concentration in 80/20 $DMSO/H_2O$ exhibiting remarkable shear thinning at 18wt%. In the Cole-Cole plot, the 18wt% PVA solutions gave a deviated curve from 12 and 15wt% ones. Thus the optimum PVA concentration for the spinning processing of medium MW PVA solutions in 80/20 $DMSO/H_2O$ was determined to 18wt% with rheological concept. Low degree of drawing during hot drawing process in the dry state was available for high bath draft in the coagulation bath. The most improved mechanical properties were observed by applying the highest possible draw ratio attained by reducing bath draft over multi-step drawing process. In the given bath draft, linear relationship was observed between both tensile strength and modulus and draw ratio showing the inflection points at the draw ratio of 19.5 and 18.0 for tensile strength and modulus, respectively.

This study aimed to provide a basic data for presenting an appropriate plan of bathroom space which is suitable to our bathing behavior. We analized 1052 of small-sized apartment housing floor plans and the results were as follows. 1. Bathroom space were classified into 5 types : bath unit type, separated type, deficisncy type, over bath unit type, and semiseparated type and there was no separated type in this study. 2. The bathroom space type according to the size of housing 1) Deficiency type was the most popular one in 10-15 pyung sized housing. 2) In the size of 16-20 pyung housing, deficiency and bath unit type were popular ones. 3) Bath unit type was the most generalized one in 21-30 pyung. 4) Bath unit type and over unit type were generally equipped in 31-34 pyung housing. 3. The size of bathroom was ranged from 0.7 pyung to 2.0 pyung, and the ratio of it was 7.5- 12%.
Decorative properties of chromium depositions from oxalic acid bath containing chromium oxide and ammonium sulfate have been examined over a wide range of bath compositions and plating conditions. The obtained results from this experiment are summarized as follow: The followings were determined as a optimum conditions, bath compositions; $CrO_3\;200{\sim}250\;g/{\ell},\;H_2C_2O_4{\cdot}2H_2O\;500{\sim}700\;g/{\ell},\;(NH_4)_2SO_4\;40{\sim}120\;g/{\ell}$, and operation conditions; pH $2.0{\sim}2.5$, current density $15{\sim}250\;A/dm^2$ at bath temperature range of $30{\sim}80^{\circ}C$. Bright chromium deposits were obtained over a wide range of ammonium sulfate concentration and bath temperature. Decorative property for chromium deposition was adopted to apply stoichiometric ratio of $CrO_3$ concentration and $H_2C_2O_4{\cdot}2H_2O$.

The corrosion resistance and the hardness of the tin-nickel alloy deposits electroplated in pyrophosphate bath were invesitigated according to electrolysis conditions and microstructure of the alloy. The weight loss of alloy deposits increased with the Sn content of single phase (Ni-Sn) alloy showing the lowest weight loss in the alloy with 54∼57wt% Sn. On the other hand, the multiphase alloy with 35∼42wt% Sn showed the highest one. The CASS test result was consistent with that of immersion test, and was good agreement with the corrosion data of polarization measurements. The hardness of alloy deposits decreased with the increase of Sn ratio in bath due to the grain size increase of the alloy. However, it increased noticeably with decreasing current density in the bath condition of low Sn ratio (0.1)

Insoluble anodes of the Ta/Ir mixed metal oxide for electrodeposition of Ni-W alloy in ammoniacal citrate bath were prepared by thermal decomposition method. Ti plate was etched in boiling oxalic acid solution and coated with ethanol solution of $TaCl_{5}$ and $IrCl_4$ mixed in a fixed ratio, followed by drying and treating at various temperatures. The coating layer of these insoluble anode was characterized by SEM, EDX, XRD and DSC. The decomposition rate of citric acid in plating bath was determined by measuring the $CO_2$ gas evolved at the anodes with Gas Chromatography. Evolution of $CO_2$ gas from Ta/Ir oxide anodes decreased about 5% compared with that of Pt. The $CO_2$ gas evolution was increased with the amount of Ir-oxide in the coatings. The coatings which have more than 40% ratio of Ta content and heat-treated at the temperature higher than $400^{\circ}C$ showed better efficiency

The purpose of this study was to investigate washing effects according to the rinsing conditions and the characteristics of soiled fabrics. In this study rinsing conditions including rinsing cycle, time, temperature, and bath ratio were examined. The foamability of rinsing bath was also examined. The quantity of LAS in the rinsing bath and extracts of test fabrics was analyzed after washing and rinsing, respectively. The results of these experiments were as follows: The washing effects of soiled fabrics were varied from the kinds of soils and rinsing conditions. The removal of soils from fabrics was increased by the first rinsing after washing effectively. The priorities of rinsing conditions were rinsing temperature> rinsing time > rinsing cycles> references. Foamability was result from residual LAS in rinsing bath and fabrics extracts after rinsing. The residual quantity of LAS was references > rinsing cycles> rinsing time> rinsing temperature, which shown rinsing temperature was the most efficient factor of the rinsing performance.

In this paper CdS thin films, which were widely used window layer of the CdS/CdTe and the CdS/$CuInSe_2$ heterojunction solar cell, were grown by chemical bath deposition, which is a very attractive method for low-cost and large-area solar cells, and the structural, optical and electrical properties of the films was studied. As the thiourea/$CdAc_2$ mole ratio was increased, the deposition rate of CdS films prepared by CBD was increased due to increasing reaction velocity in solution and the optical bandgap was increased at higher thiourea/$CdAc_2$ mole ratio due to larger grain size and continuous microstructure. The minimum resistivity of the films was at thiourea/$CdAc_2$ mole ratio of 3.

Structural, optical and electrical properties of Cd$_{1-x}$ Zn$_{x}$S films deposited by chemical bath deposition(CBD), which is a very attractive method for low-cost and large-area solar cells, are presented. Especially, in order to control more effectively the zinc component of the films, zinc acetate, which was used as the zinc source, was added in the reaction solution after preheating the reaction solution and the pH of the reaction solution decreased with increasing the concentration of zinc acetate. The films prepared after preheating and pH control had larger zinc component and higher optical band gap. The crystal structures of Cd$_{1-x}$ Zn$_{x}$S films was a wurtzite type with a preferential orientation of the (002) plane and the lattice constants of the films changed from the value for CdS to those for ZnS with increasing the mole ratio of the zinc acetate. The minimum lattice mismatch between Cd$_{1-x}$ Zn$_{x}$S and CdTe were 2.7% at the mole ratio of (ZnAc$_2$)/(CdAc$_2$+ZnAc$_2$)=0.4. As the more zinc substituted for Cd in the films, the optical transmittance improved, while the absorption edge shifted toward a shorterwavelength. the photoconductivity of the films was higher than the dark conductivity, while the ratio of those increased with increasing the mole ratio of zinc acetate. acetate.
