Reviewed biosynthetic pathways in green leaves of thiamine, riboflavin and folate as disclosed by the authors, and the regulatory systems operating on their biosynthesis and biodegradation as revealed since a potent inhibitory activity of ATP was found for the phosphatase reactions in 1965. Physiological roles of ascorbic acid in plant were evidenced by its higher content in green and flower leaves; the content in persimmon leaves for example was found ten or more times of that in citrus fruits. A close relationship existing between basic and development researches was illustrated by examples chosen from the author's researches. Examples cited were as follows; basic researches on vitamins were extended to the creation of thiamine enriched rice, to the growth promotion of rice plant by foliar application of thiamine, and to the use of ascorbic acid to prevent the appearance of beer cloudness; histological and biochemical studies on protein bodies in rice endosperm turned out amino acid enriched rice; techniques acquired in the studies on catalase were successfully employed for the utilization of single cell protein (MIPRON) for human food; conception of hybernation was led up to under-water or under-ground storage of cereal grains.

Although the prevalence of laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) is presumed to be very high, basic researches on LPR have not been active so far. This is a review of present status and prospect of researches on LPR to help readers' understanding of current trend on LPR research. In vitro and in vivo researches on acid/pepsin, intercellular junctions, bile juice, carbonic anhydrase, cytokines, and Helicobacter pylori were discussed. Considering that quality of life is getting more important in accordance with longer life span and that a fair proportion of LPR patients do not respond to conventional therapy, researches on pathogenesis and pathophysiology of treatment measures are necessary and it is anticipated for more and more researchers to concern themselves in basic research on LPR in the future.

Since the first detection of gravitational-wave (GW), GW150914, September 14th 2015, the multi-messenger astronomy added a new way of observing the Universe together with electromagnetic (EM) waves and neutrinos. After two years, GW together with its EM counterpart from binary neutron stars, GW170817 and GRB170817A, has been observed. The detection of GWs opened a new window of astronomy/astrophysics and will be an important messenger to understand the Universe. In this article, we briefly review the gravitational-wave and the astrophysical sources and introduce the basic principle of the laser interferometer as a gravitational-wave detector and its noise sources to understand how the gravitational-waves are detected in the laser interferometer. Finally, we summarize the search algorithms currently used in the gravitational-wave observatories and the detector characterization algorithms used to suppress noises and to monitor data quality in order to improve the reach of the astrophysical searches.

Since 1970s' many hospitals have been built due to the economic growth and change of social policy in Korea. But, we had no sufficient data and design guidelines of planning and designing to get good design solutions. From the first paper on the healthcare architecture issued in 1974, many researches have been performed. Researches could be one of the efforts to solve the problems and satisfy the needs of those periods. Researches could reflect the characteristics of healthcare architecture of those periods. So in this paper 267 papers issued between 1974-2009 were analyzed to get the characteristics patterns of research periodically. This paper aims to provide a basic data for studying of history of healthcare architecture in Korea.

Environmental stresses during culture of food legumes can be classified to the three categories; the climatic stresses, pests, and public pollution. Of the researches on the climatic stresses in Korea, drought injury and lodging injury were studied more comparing with excess water injury, cooling injury, wind injury, frost injury and hail injury. Although many researches have been done on the pests, mainly on the control of pests, a few researches have been done on the basic research. Recently public pollution is considered one of major stresses during culture of crops following rapid development of industry in Korea. A few researches have been done on the air pollution and acid rain. Therefore many researches should do on the environmental stresses during culture of food legumes in the future.

Purpose: The objective of this literature review study was to identify research's trends and methodological issues of cost analysis on nursing services. Methods: Researches which analyzed nursing services cost, were selected from journal articles and master or doctoral dissertation studies. The total numbers of the collected studies were 23. Results: The number of studies on nursing services cost has been increased rapidly since middle-1990. The 5 methodological frameworks to classify the cost analysis researches was found. 4 researches were using the traditional costing method. 6 researches were using the clinical patient classification systems. 4 researches were using the Korean Diagnosis Related Group (KDRG). 5 researches were using the Resource Based Relative Value Scale (RBRVS). 4 researches were using the Activity Based Costing (ABC). Conclusion: These results will be used to provide the basic data for developing a more refined cost analysis method on nursing services. For further studies, we will suggest that the consent criteria of cost items need to measure nursing services be developed and the conducting cost analysis on nursing services be networked a hospital's cost management system.

This paper checked the trend of exiting researches on Jeungsan's thought and investigated the academic problems of Daesun's thought as an basic work to form the deep academic discussions on Daesun's thought. Grouping into the scriptures of Jeungsangyo, its theses and papers, I synthesized the present state of researches. In the case of papers, I divided into three periods, before 1990, 1990s' and after 2000. Grouping into three fields, the periods, the researchers and the themes, I investigated the characteristics of the researches of Jeungsan's thought through the main scriptures, theses and papers, and reports of actual state. In conclusion, I brought up the ten problems about academic questions of Daesun's thought.

This study explores the divergence of grounded theory focused on the differences of Glaser and Strauss. Grounded theory has been divided into two versions, Glaser version and Strauss version. Two versions are different in research methodology. Therefore, it is important for us to choose one of these two version. There are many grounded theory researches or qualitative researches by grounded theory approach in Korea. But Theses researches has been studied only Strauss version. Therefore this article introduces the differences of Glaser method and Strauss method in various aspects of research methods: basic logic of research process, core category and basic social process, and coding methods - especially axial coding, selective coding and theoretical coding. Glaser and Strauss argued differently in many aspects of grounded theory method.
